CWModels- I notice that you use Tamiya Epoxy putty alot, but many people have also meantioned using Sculpey. Have you ever used that, or is Tamiya your preference?

I liked the gameplay for AC4 but the cutscenes were extremely lame and boring (and the English voice actor needs to be shot in the head, and that's just to make him more lively! ). I felt the story for AC4 was so incredibly dull that they shouldn't have even bothered. Just let me buy planes, fly around and blow crap up. That's just what I needed. I, too, have read that AFDelta Strike has a screwy control scheme and waaaaay uber-annoying characters, but I'm willing to bypass that if it looks cool and is reasonably fun to play.

Oh yeah, the Pro Speakers use a smaller plug than reg'lar headphones. So that test ain't gonna fly. ewilen, I'm running OS X 10.3, but had the same issue when we had OS X 10.1

Okedokee- here's some screenshots. The top is a volume setting through my speakers. The bottom is a roughly equivalent setting using headphones. I'm going to give a new set of headphones a chance this weekend and see if a better set will make me proud. Sadly, we didna get an extended warranty. Dumb, I know. But the wife wouldn't go for it...

We are smart... We don't buy macs. After all my years and problems with PC's, I've had this iMac for over a year and a half now and this is the one problem I'm having*? *except for when I spilled beer on the keyboard. But that was human error.

C'mon, Toast... give me some credit here!!! The jack is clearly labeled with the universal symbol for headphones.

Not sure about animation, but I think a lot of the CG masters here on MW already got his valks beat... the Dok and Rodavan, Mechmaster, Brian... and a whole bunch of others have some crazy sweet stuff. :Dat It is pretty damn good. Given, it is a few years old, so I wouldn't be surprised if our own guys have much better stuff now. But remember that the animator also needs an eye for perspective, angles and basic cinematography, something that is readily evident in this video. I'm not a huge fan of the VF-11 or VF-19, but he makes them look great. His job with the Strike VF-1's is awesome as well.

Man, I thought you guys were smart, but I've heard all of this before!!!! Seriously, thanks for the advice, but I've tried all of those avenues to no avail. Maybe I'll spring for a really nice headset and if that still doesn't work I can always return it. Mods- Feel free to lock/remove this topic. I think it's served it's purpose. Thanks.

Not a stupid question at all, but they are plugged in all the way. I'm just afraid of buying a nice set of headphones and finding out that the headphones aren't the problem.

OK, this is computer, or more importantly, iMac-related: When I listen to music through the headphones, it's EXTREMELY quiet, even with the volume all of the way up. I've tried finding answers for this through the information super-highway, but I can never find an answer that resolves this specific problem. I've tried 4 different headphones which, given, aren't the best, but aren't that bad either and none of them work any better or worse (ie- the cheap-o earplugs have the same volume as the $10-15 ones). Any help? p.s.- Mods, please leave this one up for a day or two to see if anyone has any answers. This is about the only message board I ever visit and I can't find any help at computer or mac-specific boards. Plus, like I said- You're all the smartest people I know.

If only the movie was a bit longer... For the heck of it, I threw in the Gwar song "Immortal Corrupter" and skipped the intro and paused it right before the meat of the song starts up and unpause it once the first laser fires, . From there on, there's a lot of beats and breaks which time extremely well with the movie. Then the song breaks into a slow mellow part with a "ripping" solo just as the VF-19 duels with the Q-Rau. After that it tears into a fast guitar section which comes right at the moment when the Sqaudron forms up in the asteroids and cclears them heading straight for the enemy fleet, the speed drums kick in right when the scene switches to the Regults heading straight for the camera. It's pretty kick ass. If you have access to this song, I recommend trying it out. Just pause the song right bevore the quitars kick in and unpause it the moment you see the first lasers shoot.

That's just bad ass. As for sound: Music would do nicely, with only sound effects the in-cockpit shots, which would simply be the VF engine noise and radio chatter. I'm definitely saving this in Holy Wood, my movies folder.

A bit of constructive criticism: You really need to work on blending multiple images, especially with cut and past. The pixelated outlines you've got going on are really hurting the final product. As for my opinion, I think putting the chicks in doesn't work.

LOL! Another way to look at it: Why do the Zentran have the Glaug which is reserved for higher-ranking personnel? Aim for the Glaug, decapitate the enemy. Why is Millia's Q-Rau red in DYRL? Aim for the Red Q-Rau, kill a hottie. Even though visual recognition is hardly needed these days, the marking and whatnot harken back to the days when it was vitally important.

They have different call signs on different missions. What was Whiskey one on Tuesday may be Showtime one zero on Friday. Yeah, I meant to point that out as well, but forgot. Oops!!! Thanks for reminding me, and mentioning it as well!

IIRC- Just like the real military, don't they go by flight numbers when on a sortie regardless of their squadron identification?
