  1. Does anyone have the second canopy from the 1/72 VF-4 recast? I wrecked my second one (not sure how, but the glue turned it milky), and the first had a run in with a puppy. It's the Club-M. Thanks.
  2. Awesome article EXO. I've actually been using Simple Green with great results. It takes a little longer, but I've left stuff in the tank for weeks at a time with no effect on the plastic. I just use an ice cream pail and drop the pieces in, seal the lid and check it daily, scrubbing with a soft toothbrush. It doesn't attack the glue, but removes any fillers as well. It doesn't require gloves either. I've used it on clear parts as well with no problem. Lonnie
  3. Check out www.pegasusmodels.com I am thinking about ordering their ww1 decals also. looks to be a good selection. Lonnie
  4. Sweet! I have been wanting a couple of these forever (Diorama idea). Thanks MJ and GH, this is awesome news. Can't wait for the list to come out. PS how big are the feet that grab the fastpacks? And is white metal magnetic? I like WM's idea, but am trying to come up with the best way of doing it. Would it be possible to drill them out and insert a metal strip, or are they too small? Lonnie
  5. Awesome and congrats. I would recommend not painting this particular kit though! Lonnie
  6. I glued the canopy on last week and just noticed that the glue (white craft glue) had turned the entire canopy milky. It looks like the pilot is fogging up the windscreen! Anyone else have this problem before?
  7. Very nice build. Is the canopy frame painted on or is it decals? I used decals, because the fit wasn't so good on mine (the second attempt was at least usable). The canopy itself was good, but I screwed up cutting it. I would recommend putting the cannon on, a Valkyrie just looks incomplete without a gun pod or weapons rack. I used 2 racks of 4 bombs, plus underwing and wingtip missiles.
  8. I'll second that Penguin. Ponoka has its own stampede, some people have more crap inside the boots than out.
  9. Ponoka, Alberta Canada. It's not the middle of nowhere, but I can see it from here.
  10. I use brad nails from my air nailer (various sizes). Cheap, easy to cut or shape, yet plenty strong. If the part is too thin, I've used staples, but generally the smaller parts don't need pins. Take your time and ensure the pins are lined up first, since it's a royal pain to take something apart and repin it. I usually dummy the piece up first, then mark it with a pencil. From there it's just a matter of drilling and installing. Install the pins on the bigger side first, let them dry in place, then slide the other piece (usually a wing) onto the pins. Hope this helps.

  12. Nice...Real nice! I always liked the CF color scheme.
  13. I don't know if Ken is still selling them or not. I lost his email, but he is a regular on this board. Edit----Found his email, will ask him later.
  14. Zero-Mare, it's a recast from Valkyrie (MW member) and it's an awesome model. As for size, it's 1/72 and it's just slightly smaller than the Hasegawa VF-1 at 8 1/2 inches long by 6 inches wide.
  15. Thanks guys. I was actually asking if there were any canon spots for the lights. I've been cruising the aircraft resource center and online for actual placements, now I just want to double check where they would be on this bird. This model has had a rough life since I got it last year. It was dropped and broke one of the front wings, then my son's Jack Russel Terrorist got into the modelling room and chewed it up badly, (Thanks for the replacement parts Ken), and has gone through numerous paint strippings to get a scheme I'm happy with. After the puppy incident, I was debating whether or not to do a battle damaged or forced landing diorama, but changed my mind.
  16. Here are some pics of my 3/4 done VF-4. I still have to finish the weathering and the weapons load is attached with white glue just to see how it looks. My question is, where would the navigation and running lights be located. I'm going to drill a small hole and put in silver then transparent paint (Red, green whatever), and fill with some 5 min epoxy. I just want to confirm the locations. Pics were taken in a rush, so sorry about the quality. Here it is (almost done... finally).
  17. Man, I can hardly wait to get mine.
  18. Awesome, simply awesome. Is there any chance of a flightdeck type picture featuring all of your models? I'd love to see as many as possible side by side to show the different configurations, types and sizes. Now I definately have to get off my butt and finish some of my incomplete valks.
