  1. Very dead. This is an extensive make-up job.
  2. HE'D BETTER!!! The saga's continuity hangs in the balance! I Luca$ doesn't... *several paragraphs of AICN fanboy ranting omitted*...raped my childhood!
  3. Well, boys and girls, it looks like those Tarkin pics were real. LFL just told theforce.net to take 'em down, and they don't do that just for fakes/fanart. *snort* Yeah there's NO resemblence, is there?
  4. That is exactly whay I hated the film off the bat and could never possibly enjoy it and will always hate it. All that work in Aliens all for nothing. This film also seemed a bit too dependant on the use of explicit language. LOL! Even James Cameron mentioned this last summer, when talking about T3. He felt that, no matter what damage they did to the story in Terminator 3, it still wouldn't compare to the way all of his characters from Aliens were coldly offed in the first 5 minutes of Alien 3.
  5. That's what the spy reports say, but nothing's official so far. These pics just showed up last night, but the rumors of a "prosthetic Tarkin" have been circulating for a few weeks now. I think they're done by the same FX crew that handled the makeup on Farscape, as I recall hearing a report that they had been contracted for some Ep III work. Still, I'd take this with a grain of salt for the time being, at least until photoshop-savvy types can inspect them. The "other" SW sites are united in debunking them, but I think that has more to do with petty internet fanboy rivalries (PIFR, for short) than any actual analysis of the photos.
  6. Hey....does anybody remember Grand Moff Tarkin? http://www.theforce.net/episode3/index.shtml#22019
  7. Actually...it is. I don't know what material is getting reinserted, but I doubt any of it will make the movie not suck. <_< Edit: I think we're mainly getting an alternate/extended ending. An ending which I'm sure will still suck and blow.
  8. I admire your courageous stance against spelling and grammar.
  9. Probably not something I'd openly admit to, if I were you.
  10. Ha ya right this is Macross World, home of the complainers lol Yeah, well I just though I'd throw that out there. Thanks for calling my bluff.
  11. Yeah, I remember hearing that they shut down production in the end and chopped together the film. Go here to see some of what we'll see in the Alien: Director's cut. How much will make it back into the film? Who knows? http://www.planetavp.com/al/Alien/DeletedScenes/
  12. dvdboxoffice.com has it available on Dec 1st, but they've been wrong before.
  13. It's been quite a while since I read the novel or the original script, but that was the implication IIRC. The fantastic book Geiger's Alien has a great picture of the Brett-thing from that scene, which is clearly in the late stages of becomming an egg.
  14. Yes and no. There's glimmers of his style here and there, but the movie is overall so crappy that it never builds up to anything. That's why I'm curious to see the unedited workprint. Hopefully more of his talent comes through in that version. The beginning of Alien 3 makes little sense, Bobe-Patt. There's never any explanation given for the origins of the facehugger and it's egg, other than the fact that it's there. Like the rest of the film, there was considerably more scripted for the opening sequence, but how much was actually filmed is anyone's guess. There's a few web sites out there that have nearly all of the edits and alternate scenes from the entire Alien saga....but I can't remember where they are right now.
  15. As a bit of an aside, there's supposedly some positive buzz for Hayden's performance in that new flick Shattered Glass. Maybe this bodes well for Anakin's fall from grace.
  16. Ewan McGregor is still playing Obi Wan, and from the leaked pics I've seen he looks almost exactly like Sir Alec Guiness did in ANH.
  17. There was a deleted sequence in Alien where Ripley finds Dallas and Brett, coccooned by the Alien. We don't see what it did to them, but they are slowly tranforming into facehugger eggs, thus bringing the Alien life cycle full circle. Ripley torches them both and runs away. Since this scene was cut, Cameron decided to go a different route when he wrote Aliens, and created the Queen Alien. I don't think this scene's inclusion really hurts the series. After all, we're talking about friggen alien life forms. Perhaps a lone alien has the ablility to create a few eggs out of it's victims, in the effort to create a queen so that they can increase their population.
  18. Great. FAST Packs for those who want them, no FAST Packs for those who don't. That should rule out any complaints, right?
  19. http://www.dvdanswers.com/index.php?r=0&s=1&c=2224 For folks who love featurettes, this looks like THE definitive ALIEN set. I'm also morbidly curious about the 140 min Alien 3 "Workprint" ....but not too curious. (I still say Gibson's script would have been a 10X better movie) On a related topic, the official site for the ALIEN: Director's Cut is up. Not very much content, though. http://www.alien.com/#
  20. Umm...Omni, that IS Hayden Christenson.
  21. Mercifully...no. He's still trying to raise money to make "Battlefield Earth 2" <_< Anywho, as for the Hayden/Hamill similarities....
  22. Ahhhh....I love the sound of a Rolls Royce Merlin in the morning. It sounds like.....victory. B)
  23. "Rumors?" It's been confirmed from Day 1 that Ep III would go retro. Blinky lights and all. *waits for somebody to incorrectly refer to Hayden's hair as a "mullet" *
  24. We tend to hop around alot, just trying to find one with enough room and a good ping. Our old 3.1 favorites were Seattle T3, 4thWehrmacht, and some others but we haven't really gotten into them consistently since 1.0 came out. <_<
  25. If they go ahead with this movie...and I have a sick feeling they will...they should pull an X-Men and go back and start from scratch. Go back to the initial 12 Joes or so. Otherwise the movie will probably bog down in too many stupid characters and stories. We all remember Batman & Robin, don't we?
