While the machines are running at work, I'm working on my Ver 3.0 Paper Monster... bigger and bader than the one I'm building right now. I'm cleaning up all the graphics, text, and fine details... I'm also creating some artwork like Insignias... feedback? I'm not the best artist, if you would like to put your hands into the pot please let me know... I can post the PSD. EDIT--- The text is not very sharp on screen, but should look better printed at about 1 1/4" x 1" Nother EDIT--- re-tweaked the image

THATS WHY NUKES ARE GREAT!!! Well... I am not so sure they are great but I am not going to dispute the use of A-bomb in the end of WW2. Yes, it saved countless lives but I think one bomb was enough. I mean 3 days later you drop another one? I think the Allies should have given Japan about a week to figure out what the hell happened and let it sink in. Granted that a military target should have been chosen (but that would not have shown what the bomb can do.). You have to remember, the Japanese civilians did not know what was going on out in the Pacific. (correct me if I am wrong) Of course the civilians probably turned a blind eye to when they enjoyed the spoils of war. The Emperor was never really the leader of his country during WW2. The military took over Japan. Yes the Emperor forced the military to surrender. My question is: Could it be saying that in Macross that America is evil because of the use nuclear weapons? They say that Macross creator thinks the "good guys" never use nuclear weapons according the Macross insert I have in the DVD. Part of the reason (as I understand it) that we dropped the second bomb... There was a question that "we blew our load"... that we didn't have another bomb... The Japanese Leaders questioned it... and we knew they would. So we hit them a second time. Kind of a "answer me, or I shall hit you again" Now if Japan didn't surrender, we probably would have been screwed. How long would it have taken to make another bomb??? (not fast enough) the US at the time did not have the technology to rapidly produce "high-grade" uranium.

oh, its going to be big.. but I don't think it would classify as needing a "skeleton" When I say its going to be 3.375x larger, you need to think three dimensionally. the individual dimensions will only make it about 50% taller/wider/longer (1.5^3 = 3.375) Now if I could find an affordable supply of 17x14 stock I could make it even bigger say another 10-15% :drool: at that size :grabbing calculator: that would make it... OMG.. 4.5x bigger its probably going to take me another month to finish the "artwork" to make Ver 3.0 I'm recreating all the text/details/fine edges (as much as possible). My redo of the U.N.SPACY logos... etc make them so much sharper blown-up and stand out a lot better. I will most likely have to double wall and reinforce the stupid thing... but it will be worth all the headache

hehe well I've got the same "Eveil" mind as Doctor Evil "For 100Billion Dollars...." (not knowing the exact finished dimensions of the original paper monster)... individual part dimensions of the one I am working on now is 133-135% (33%-35% bigger)... making the one I am working on 2.46x bigger than the typical one The printer(s) I have at work: In B&W I can print up to 14"x17" paper, and in Color I can do up to 12x18. Now they really frown apon using the color printer for personal stuff So I'm stuck with B&W, but we may be getting rid of the machine we have now, and if so I might be free to try and use up the stock we have for the machine (who would buy old toner?) As for the newer "monstrosity"... I have re-layed each individual piece onto 11x17, trying to maximize the surface (making the largest part use the whole sheet, etc). Now I made a booboo after doing most of the pages, I came across one part that didn't "fit" on 11x17, so I fudged... I layed this one page for 12x17 I'm just gonna trim an inch off one of our 12x18 sheets. To again give you an idea of "size" the individual dimensions are 150% (50% Bigger). Compete the ver 3.0 will be 3.375x bigger. I am "Evil" Southcross

see my Southcross Model Monstrosities thread. I'm working on a drastically enlarged version of this model... I'm right now also designing Ver 3.0 thats going to be even bigger, custom/cleanup of image quality... possibly even a paint job if I can solve the "paper distortion" problem. Just to give you an idea of how big Ver 2.0 is... its one foot is about the size of a dollar bill.... Ver. 3.0 is going to be about 33% larger. Its going to be bigger than the Yamato 1/60. I'm also planning/laying out other Paper Models to be "monstrosities"

Does it matter if it's just a date? Unless people automatically equate date with sex... The advantage of a fan-fic is just that. It's a fan-fic and no one will complain because it's fan-art. You don't have to be accurate all the time. Sure it's nice and all to be accurate but fan-art (fan-fics, fan drawings, models, etc, etc, etc) is fan-art and doesn't have to follow the set idea of the creator, i.e. if it's fan-art you're doing, one should not be limited to what is written in stone. The Unification Wars is something we really don't have much info on. Meaning major nations were involved. We also don't know who was on who's side. Egan Loo has pointed out that Russia was part of the UN, however, Anti-UN forces had a heavy Russian influence and Russia in the Macross timeline is not our Russia/former-Soviet Union. Most noted was the destruction of St. Petersburg in Russia. Also noted was the guerilla warfare in the Americas. We don't know who was on who's side since there were factions within factions. In fact, the Anti-UN may not have been a distinct group of countries. The Anti-UN may have been made up of small factions all working independently of one another. We really don't have a clear picture of who the Anti-UN was. The best thing we can do is look at the time period in which Macross premiered. Look at the UN and the super-powers of the 1980s and speculate. Hope that helps. well crap... Here is an example... I'm going to do a Macross Zero Stealth Bomber/Fighter... Now both are a product of the USA... Now presuming that was Japan (???) being bombed in the begining of Ep 1 (normally Japan is a US allie)... Both the US and Russian militaries will sell you anything.... the big "no no" is anything sensative in nature i.e. missle lauchers... anything "containing secrets"... If its declassified as having no "secrets" to any of the technology, you could actually place and order through the manufacturer (if they still make them). Just call up your corner-store McDonnell Douglas shop, hand over a $29mil cashiers check... you too can fly away in your F-18C Wish I remember where to go, but the former USSR sells their old Diesel Submarines (like a few $mil a piece). They have sold several to the US film makers market over the years.

Ok, I could probably start a thread... but you will probably tell me its a Newb question I have a question about the "Glabal Civil War". I have looked around (macross compendium, and a bunch of fan RT & Macross sites) and I find basically "Fan Fic" information in regards to the Civil War: I'm currious what nations were involved. What I have seen is US, Russian, Japan.. I'm assuming there were other nations involved? Also I'm wondering who was against who? "Why do I care" you may ask I'm planning out my next batch(s) of "Southcross's Model Monstrosities" and I'm thinking of doing some Global Civil War pieces and I would like to know what nations to portray. Any help would be appreciated EDIT---- tried re-wording my internet and MW searches... still didn't come up with anything usable... Nother EDIT---- no response in 6 hours... should I post a seperate thread and get peoples input/opinion if there is no "real" answer?

I had already thought of that (used to work for a website development group fixing websites, though I can't build a website for crap ).
