This director is famous for his....uhh...unique style thing and has done episodes in Eureka 7, Aquarion and god knows where else.....where the style is usually a "dream-like" sequence to portray surreality. Not sure if ep 4 is like that (haven't watched). I'm won't go into the "strange director vs being cheap" thing. Who knows maybe its both. About what you said about "like how? it's all freaking digital!", you do realise you still have to draw the frame by frame animation? Only thing digital about today is the digital coloring, and animation. IE: You don't have to flip frames in front of a camera, and you don't have to use paint to paint the cels. They can still get cheap by doing less detailed coloring, hire cheaper frame animators, which results in inconsistent art througout a series.

3 eps out and subbed as of now. I know what you mean about nonsense and fun. Gainax found how to make anime fun again. No religious/political/philosophical undertones......lots of big drills, sex, and action.

Just watched it at a theatre. I heard that you guys in the US won't be getting it until later in September? The movie's very much like Event Horizon. poo happens, things go wrong, people die, alot of self-sacrifice going around, and an unexplained "bad guy/demon/monster/mutant" on a rampage. The show was pretty entertaining i must admit, but what it also end up trying to be "artsy fartsy", the bane of science fiction. Throughout the show the crew members seem to have an unhealthy obsession with the sun gazing at it till they get sunburnt and whatnot. The bad guy....just as Event Horizon, is an insane human gone through some kinda mutation or whatever and never quite explained. Not like I expected it to be explained either. Despite arty fartsy ness, its quite an entertaining watch with nice visual audio effects. My seat was vibrating every time the sun comes up.

Just use the Klite Codec Pack + Media Player Classic. Plays anything on the internet. Not sure why there's quite a number of people with .mkv problems. 1st episode...pretty good. Not much action from the mecha though since they were mostly getting pwned througout the episode.

Hentai is OVA.....your point? That's cause character designs are done by Hirashi Hirai, who is famous for his "similar" character designs. His designs are so familiar that its ridiculous. Look at Soukyo No Fafner.....another Gundam Seed clone. And you can't deny that characters from sCRYed and Infinite Ryvius looked similar either.

Hmmm.....character designs vary because they are always designed by different people based on their source material, so they aren't GONZO characters per se. Anyway i felt the character designs in romeo x juliet were pretty good. They kinda made shoujo designs into a shounen anime. Remains to be seen if this series will suffer from GONZO disease. (Fairly captivating in the beginning, becomes crap towards the end)

Romeo X Juliet. You know I fell asleep watching Romeo and Juliet in every incarnation and never quite grasped the full story due to naps in between, be they school plays or acted by Leonardo Di Caprio. But zomg....GONZO seems to have outdone themselves with this one. A reimagination of a classic tale. Great visuals...and looks like alot of nice action coming up.

And in Hayate No Gotoku ep3, Hayate he does a "BUSTER CHOLERA", parody to Buster Collider, on the robot. You don't see the move though. Just screaming.

Expanded Universe. EU is anything outside of the movies, i think and seems most people don't treat it as canon. My question is.......Is Chewbacca dead or not? >_>
