Thanks, mechafan. I just gave it a read. I still don't get why they have claws. Too bad the "Dark Legioss" is missing the VTOL engine, looks kinda weird without it, I wish the toy has it anyway, but I guess fans won't forgive Toynami for overseeing that detail.
-
By the way: I love the Shadow alpha because it looks different (actually I was just gonna get the blue and the sadow at first), but since the Shadow is an advanced Alpha, why it has claws instead of hands? and how does it handle the gun pod with them? Or does it has just one claw? Just wondering.

I will make stickers for the Alphas as soon as I get the toy.
YESSS!
You rule! I bought your decals from Kevin for my 1/48 Valk and I'm very happy with them, but I was sure I'll never get a set for my MPC's. Let us know when you finish them, I'll be wanting a set for every Alpha.
-
Thanks for the link, Etrigan.
I'm a bit concerned about those stickers. They look kinda "Yamatoish". Maybe we can get Anazasi to made some decent ones for the MPC's

I just found out. I'm so sorry. We're all with you on this. Thanks for let us know. Take it easy.

Got 'em!
Thanks Flash, you rule! And thanks Omega One for your help too.
I feel so proud I belong to this community that I wanna cry
BTW: you have some collection there buddy! It'll take me the whole weekend to check it all.

Looks great so far. Keep us updated on this. I'm an Alpha freak so I'll be wanting one. One LEGION of this babies

Hi there:
About the instructions sheet, I have the same kit, but I won´t be able to scan it until this weekend.
That's great Omega One, I appreciate it.
But in my own opinion, it looks more like a toy than a model. That's the very reason I'm so interested on it. I think it would look great next to my upcoming Yamato Monster Besides, it'0s the only way to own a decent VF-19. The Bandai toy I owned looked so bad that I ended up selling it. I'm a fan of the VF-19, but that toy was offensive
We're in touch.

i got an email from toynami saying the alphas should be in an august....
the first wave is completely sold out from them, and retailers have to order the second wave to get more...those are prob going to get here in Oct or Sept
Does this means that the one I have on preorder since april will get here 'till october?!
-
Anybody confirm that is it now Sept is the release date for the MPC Alpha?
Where did you hear that?
IMHO the Beta is a good idea. And not only bacause I'd kill for one, but because there's still a fair amount of Mospeada fans in the far east that like us, waited many years for one good Alpha/Legioss toy (a market that Toynami has also noticed). The Beta case is even more dramatic, since a few rare toys of it were ever produced.
I don't think the interest in Robotech will fade out. After all these years the RT fanbase is still there, and IMO the same can be said of the Mospeada fans. In the end I doubt seriously that Toynami releases the Beta tho', but for other reasons: It probably won't sell as good as the Alpha, and Toynami is still a small company that must focus their efforts in make the biggest profit possible. The good news is that Tom is a huge RT fan
I'll keep dreamin on the Beta, anyway. And if this worth anything I wouldn't mind if Toynami bends the design a bit to make it possible

And by the way: I'm considering on buying the Bandai 1/100 VF-19, but I have some questions about it:
-Is it prerfect transformation, or just three mini separate models?
-How tall it stands in batt mode?
-Is the landing gear retractable?
-Is it fairly poseable?
Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge

I want to sell my Bandai 1/72 Vf-1J Millia type variable kit, but I lost the instructions manual. The rest of the kit is in mint condition, so I wan't the manual to have a fair price for it.
If any of you has them, and can send me some decent scans, I'll appreciate it. Any VF-1 manual will do.
Thank you guys.

I think they are all 1/144 scale Yellow Sub. kits. There should be a key next to the photograph which lists the model name and maker.
I'm sure, but everything's in japanese. Damn! I gotta learn to read japanese. I'll search for Yelluw Submarine on Google, tho'. Thanks.
-
Wow! That's a monster I must have! I'm not much of a modeller, but I'm a Monster sucker.
By the way: I just remembered this old kit I saw at a Hobby Japan Extra from summer 1998. There was a lot of Macross models on that issue, including the Macross plus transforming kits from SHE. But I've never could identify these kits. Does anyone knows who made these and if there are still available? They all look 1/100, tho' I'm not sure. Thanks in advance

Hmm... I've run across this preorder item in a few different places - the "Sue Graham" Shadow Fighter. Anyone know what this is?
Hey! Those guys are already taking orders for the Shadow!
Hey, Kevin. I want to preorder one too!
-
oh well... I'll deal. or maybe someone will make an aftermarket bit for that piece....?
Yeah, one that can be stored inside the toy in fighter mode also.
-
By the way this remind me that I've still never seen Robotech: The Untold Story (aka Robotech: The Movie) anyone know if it's avaiable on DVD yet. I've already been told it isn't very good but I'd still like to atleast see it at some point.
Later,
Carl
I just made the same question on the HG licence debates thread, and the guys told me that it hasn't been released on DVD and probably never will, both because Carl Macek hates the spawn and because HG doesn't own the Megazone rights anymore. There is an old and now rare VHS released back then, but that's about it. As for it's good or not, I dunno, I enjoyed very much when I was a kid.
Back on topic: That is some bad ass kit!
-
I'll buy the whole Alphas line, both because I like 'em all, and because I wan't a Beta, tho' I realize the chances are small. After all it isn't as popular as the Alpha and the production costs will be high. Now I hope that Toynami does really well so they can afford the adventure and succeed where others have failed.
Personally I don't give a damn about the Cyclons. I'll probably buy one if they look good, but there's no way they can make them perfect transformation, and I'm a perfect transformation guy, so I prefer the Beta any day. Maybe we should poll it to make Toynami change their minds about the whole Beta thing.
-
I agree with the "default mode" thesys. Know it seems clearer why the König does not have a landin gear. What is more: all this analysis of the Monster just makes me want it more and more.
-
Actually, wouldn't they store easier in gerwalk? Less surface area on the floor that way vs shuttle, and line them up with a catwalk along the top for the pilots to hop inside. That would be a sight to see that bomber squadron.
Wow! Okay, Anubis, you convinced me. Now I must get at least five of these
-
This might sound stupid.
I was thinking that in order to take off, VB-6 probably starts running really fast and jump and transform to fighter
Right! And then it just starts flapping the legs to gain altitude! That Kawamory guy must be a genius!
It probably has those "boarding rope" things like mobile suits have in gundam for the pilots to hop into the VB-6. In hangar it's easy, as there would be a catwalk installed.Or it has a flying sport car like the old Mazinger, that'd be so cool!
Serious now. I'll get the Köenig and everything, but IMHO not giving the KMonster a gear it's a mistake. I can imagine a four star General yelling at Kawamori: "And where am I suppose to store a whole squadron of these things, for pete's sake?!"
-
Hey, Kevin!
Do you have any idea on when will you start collecting the payments for the Alpha?
-
Thanks, mechaninac. Now I can relax and wait.
Instructions for Bandai 1/72

keep at it Brad.
Maybe we all end up having an online Valk museum for consult and reference.
That'd be awsome.
