  1. Here's hoping that Yamato uses this forums to test the market, so here's my humble vote for more Macross Plus toys in larger scale. I have all the previuos ones and I'm waiting patienly for the new YF-19... Nothing yet?

By the way: Wher can I see that picture of the new sculpt?

  2. Yeah! That's what I was talking about. Yamato did the same thing on a toy convention in Tokyo when announcing the up-coming 1/48's ( I saw the pictures here somewhere) and boy, does that make the beast come alive!! Please, Yamato, Pa-leez!

An "assembly required" Armored-1 maintenance bay playset would be nice too (I'm a sucker for dioramas) :p

  3. Last time I tried to transform my old 11b I found myself holding the right leg. The hips joint are obviously a problem in the first version. Does the fp version gets better, and how? It has another articulation system?

I'm thinking on buying the fast pack version but the Studio Half Eye vf-11 is so good that I can't help but thinking that Yamato could do a lot better with this one. I find those plastic bulks beneath the wings very disturbing.

  4. Last night I put my new Roy 1/48 in exhibition position. You know, like when the manufaturers of fighter planes displays all the weapons and accesories that the plane can use. And I thought " this would look great with ground crew set with pressure hoses, mechanics and pilots in different positions and those cool tiny vehicles that tow the planes and carry the missiles and gun pods".

Guess that would be my figures wish list. :)

  5. I think like Timber.

Anyway Yamato has make clear that they understand the technical problems of a perfect transformation toy, but also the fans preference for them. The 1/48's is a hell of an example, so we'll see.

I'm inclined to think that Yamato is holding the mass production of the 19 to take advantage of the Macross 0 moment. I would.

  6. That is, to me, without a doubt one of the coolest original modified VF-1´s made

Agree! And is one of my favorites from this minute. I posted a topic about the posibility of seeing a 1/48 GPB armor, but this baby mopes the floor with it!

  7. Huh, I think I missed that one. Where can I take a look at it?

As for the Minmay Guard, my guess is that the UN SPACY pilots like the little chinese so much that they paid homage to her by naming an entire squadron after her. It's a guess anyway.

  8. I have mine standing next to my computer, 'cause I just love it. It's one of my favorite Valkyries, so when the first version came out I bought it with eyes closed. Maybe I was a little impulsive, but this baby is definitely a must have if you love the YF-21.

There's a lot of improvement from the first version. The only complain I have is the lenght of the boosters in battroid mode, but then again is the only way to conceal the legs in fighter mode. The Hasegawa Sturmvogel is pretty sweet but if you take a closer look, you will see the feet sneaking out below the thrusters. Maybe Yamato releases a bigger YF-21 with THAT amount of detail someday, but for now (and 'till I get my first 1/48) this remains as my favorite toy.

  9. Thanks, Man! I'd make my own custom if the transformation won't put so much strain in the paint job, so I guess I better wait for Yamato to do it for me.

  10. I know several 1/48 fans are hoping for an Elintseeker or Super Ostrich version.

Other interesting possibilities would be the Minmay Guard (tho' it's very weird), and the Blue Roses version, 'cause Yamato wouldn't have to do major changes on the molds. I just fell in love with the Enigma scheme and I'll sell a liver on ebay to have it if I have to. Maybe I should poll it to get Yamato's attention.

Can anyone tell me where these versions came from by the way?

  11. Like your mecha avatar... feel free to show off more of your work sometime, it looks great.

Wow! Thanks! Sure I will. I'm comic artist myself and a sucker for mechas, so I have tons of designs.

As for the GPB I agree with you all: Yamato need the sales and Graham the scoops, so nobody can answer my question. It's okay, I know the answer already: Yamato won't miss the chance to make money out of the 1/48's, so it's just a matter of patience.

Meanwhile I'll have a lot of fun with my first 1/48 next week when it get's here. Yee-haw!!! :D

  12. Talking about 1/60's. Can anybody tell me if Yamato plans on release a green Q-rau? I love the bastard, but I can't stand it in that lipstick red scheme. It's a killing machine for crissakes!!!

Besides am too lazy to customize it and my hands are rounded. :p

  13. it IS kind of a toss up, a 1/60 with the armor would look pretty damn sweet. but would it be sweeter than an unarmored 1/48 valk?? tough call. if it were me, i'd get the 1/48 and hope for the armor. but thats just me (i like my valks naked)

actually i think i'll poll it.

I think the valks naked are the finest and coolest things in the Sci Fi history. Why d'you think I'm such a macross geek??? But my hunger for the 1/48's will have to be satisfied with the Fokker (my favorite), I can't afford the whole line yet. The 1J is okay but the idea of having a GPB version standing in my studio is just too much!!!!

  14. Thanks for the warm welcome everybody, and for the tips. Here's my new signature. Like it?

As for the GPS armor I guess I'll have to wait and hope that Yamato releases the Valk along with the armor someday. Or it would be too big for one box?

  15. Hi, fellas! New kid in town. I have tons of questions so I decided to sign in.

I'm thinking on buying the Yamato 1/48 VF-1J from the TV series IF and only IF Yamato is going to release the armor. News or rumors anyone?

(How can I add an icon to my posts, by the way?)
