I'm still months away from mine but I'm thinking in customize it with decals like Montarvillois did with he's. By the way, where can I get some custom decals for 1/48 Valks? Is there a online catalog someplace? Guys?
-
That sucks. Guess I'll have to order my own "custom plaques" someplace. Thanks Montar.
-
Hey, Montarvillois, where can I get plaques for my vals like those? Makes them look so damn nice!
-
let's hope some MWer get one at the show and hand it to one of our gifted recasters for the community's sake
As for me, call me the fool of the forums, but I firmly believe that Yamato is developing a perfect variable YF-19, so for me is a matter of time and patience. After all, despite how much we like the Koenig, none of us ever imagined Yamato would take care of it and here it is! A YF-19 makes so much more sense in terms of profit with those garage models selling for 300 smakers!!!

Thanks, guys. I'll check those sites as soon as possible. Right now I'm moving from Mac OS 9 to X.

...I want a transforming toy, not a lego set.
I 100% agree with GobotFool. I think Yamato knows the consumer's leaning towards perfect variable toys too and that'0s why I'm a Yamato fan.
I say down with the 1/100 VF-0!

Hey, Guys!
I hope you all had a Happy Christmas.
Given all the wisdom around here, I was wondering if somebody knows of a place (like iMacross) where I can get classic themes from classic TV series (UFO and such).
Thanks in advance and my best wishes to this New Year for all of you.

I take it that it must be that good for you to be excited about. So this doesn't have removable parts and its in perfect transformation??
Looks perfect transformation, all right. Obviously the hands don't fold, but seems like you don't have to take them off, 'cause they're well concealed under the shield in fighter mode (see the fighter mode rear picture, there's a fist sneaking from underneath the shield).
Hey, Graham: good luck in getting those. Don't forget to post picks of it. I'm not going to Japan, so I think I'll just keep hoping for the promised Yamato YF-19.

My! I can´t believe I almost miss this one out!
I'm SO in!

I owe the Manga Macross Plus Movie Edition. What's wrong with it? Is there a better one available?
-
Great topic. Good idea!
Hey, can someone post a high res version of that cover? That illustration kicks ass. Thanks.

Oh, by the way. Has anybody found the way to strighten down the nosecone yet?

Hey, guys! I got mine yesterday, Yay! I opreordered this toy the minute I saw it at VE, 'cuz I've been longing for an Alpha toy since 1995.
I live in Mexico city and I have to pay higher shipping fees, so I decided it was cheaper to send the toy to my editor in the US and hence the delay. For the same reason I had to ask Kevin to check the toy before shipping it, because in case of major QC issues, I wouldn't be able to get a replacement from Toynami. Kevin must have check the toy very conscientiously, because mine (02250) has no QC problems, aside from the floppy arms and other well known design flaws. Paintjob is perfect, no missing or broken pieces, smooth transformation, you name it, so I must say I'm very happy with my purchase and "Thanks Kevin for your help, your'e the man".
Reading the first impressions on this toy I decided to place the decals right away using the pictures of a finished IMAI made by a MWer, as a decal key and boy does that decals look good. That way I also realized that the default decal key has some errors, so stick to the IMAI. I'll take pictures as soon as I find a camera.

I'm getting all of them tho' I haven't seen the blue for myself. I'll preorder it from Kevin as soon as possible.
-
Looks terriffic. Maybe the nosecone should point a little higher, like the VF-1 nosecone? I also noticed that you made the lower section of the nosecone sleeker, well done. I can't wait
-
I finally could complete my preorder. Since I live in Mexico City it's very unlikely that I can send a defective toy back to Toynamy and get a replacement, so Kevin agreed to check out the toy for me before shipping it, so don't expect big issues with my Alpha when I post my review. Thanks, Kev, you rock.

Nope. Just guns. It's a lot like Macross and Akira, not like Gundam.
The garland certainly carries a gun, but I remember a "lightsaber" fight near the end of the second chapter between the strike Garland and the Hargun (I think), pretty much a la Gundam UGH! Good thing the Garland carries a gun.
As for the pilot, it is supposed to go inside the bike when in "Modat" mode, If Yamato could pull this off it'll be a kick ass toy, but if you look at the line art there's a lot of anime magic on that, 'cuz there's no way a person with two legs could fit in there.
-
I wish that was true. I used to say the same about the 1/48 and all I can think of now is how many toys there are still to buy.
Landmates are from Yamato....
Thanks, pal.

The Garland looks a bit weird to me, specially on the feet and the front wheel, the resin kit is much more accurate, but hey, i'ts a perfect transforming Garland toy! Guess we can quote EXO once more here: "Seems that my childhood is coming after my wallet with a vengeance"
Does anybody knows who made those Landmates and when they'll be released? TNX!
-
Right! After all the 1/48's were manufactured in china also and they're just perfect, so what's the big deal? (chimps are cheap, tho' )
-
Ground clearance is a joke. Had they added 1mm more to the front landing gear.
If I remember well from the line art, the chest plate of the toy in fighter mode sticks out too much. I'll try to fix this by lowering the nose a bit (everyone is complaining about the angle of the nosecone anyway), that should help to get more ground clearance (if it can be done).
-
But alas . No Space Balls, no Last Starfighter and no Gataca means them scientists should watch more sci-fi movies.
They're just people with rigid ideas and no imagination to me. They're trying to find a petrified bacteria on Mars when the rest of us already meet advanced civilizations in other galaxies.

Hey, guys! Since nobody has yet posted this image, I thought I'll do it. Note how nice the shoulder connects to the lower arm in fighter mode. I've tried everything and my Bernerd still shows awful gaps there. Can anyone give me a tip on how to put them closer together?
