  1. The VF-11 and red VF-1A are my favorites. Nice work!
  2. I may be alone on these forums by stating that the 1/48 scale VF-1 Valkyrie is worth it. Although, I am not sure if these can be posed well. edit: I believe there is a member from Australia who might be able to pose these.
  3. My biggest gripe is that I've had lousy luck with Testor's brand Model Master sprays clogging up and/or having tooth problems resulting in uneven spray. I have never had an issue with Tamiya spray paints, and the tooth seems to provide a finer spray than the Testor's stuff. There are other brands other members may like better than Tamiya; I started using it due to local availability. BTW, please post pics of what you are working on.
  4. I believe brushing or spraying on some Future will hide the tape marks. Make sure to apply a flat clear to take away the gloss. Next time, I suggest painting all the details before applying the decals and clear coat. Your pictures with the masking tape and decals applied made me nervous!
  5. Model Master (spray) paint and flat coat does not harm Yamato plastic (specifically, I refer to the plastic 1/48 scale VF-1 Valkyrie). That being said, I prefer Tamiya brand.
  6. I didn't know the RX-78 was that close to the size of the VF-1 Valkyrie. Other Gundams tower over the VF-1.
  7. I am envious of all you members that have display space. Of course, I am envious of the collections, too!
  8. Hopefully there will be a cheaper version offered without this part.
  9. I'm still not sure what I think about the Tornado Pack (if this is the official name). It sort of has the same feel to me as this: Of course, it's different in the fact the VF-25 is actually a fighter (plane) and the Gundam has fighter plane stuff stuck on.
  10. Who would display Macross stuff with Gundams in the same scale?
  11. As I stated in the thread member lechuck started, I'd also like this one to be in 1/72 scale -- a nice size and 1/72 scale Hasegawa decals and stuff to maybe make fit. Displaying with 1/72 scale ground crews and vehicles is another plus. For example:
  12. The 1/72 scale landing gear even look big on the DX. Anyone found any suitable landing gear with which to modify the DX?
  13. I still have interest in this kit and hope to see new pics soon.
  14. Thanks. Great to be back and seeing some Macross goodness. eyesonme78, I dig the weathering you did. I think the YF-19 doesn't have a whole lot going on with panel lines and such, so heavy weathering really adds something.
  15. I definitely want to see the progress on this one.
  16. I'm going to duck to avoid flying tomatoes hurled by scale-loyal members, but this thing would be cool in 1/72 scale. I think the size would be nice, and there's all those nice Hasagawa model kit accessories and decal kits, not to mention scale ground crews and vehicles to enhance display.
  17. I had one of the Convertors VF-1J toys when I was a kid, which was one of my favorite toys despite being fortunate enough to have way nicer toys. I bought the Banprestos knowing how crappy they are. As for the Toynami ones, they were an impulse buy -- armor is now on the way to me. I foresee the transformable Revoltechs as a future had-too-many-beers, click-add-to-cart type things.
  18. That backplate piece is a good length to keep this thing from flopping backwards in battroid mode.
  19. Anyone know if the new color Super Pack for the VF-25F will be sold separately? I missed out on the first run, but did get an Armor Pack -- I believe I could have built and painted the 1/72 model kit in the time it took me to (mis)transform the toy. Maybe it would have been easier if I didn't start in reverse; I applied the Armor Pack right out of the box on the battroid instead of fighter.
