http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers...tml#post1733484 I plan to do it to my MP TC, but still haven't gotten enough guts to hack up my custom-painted $100 TF... I'm also still measuring/testing millimeter-by-millimeter to try to get as much clearance for the tips of the h.stabs as possible--even with the kibble "slid all the way up"---there's really still not QUITE enough room---you still have to really splay the legs and have him on his tip-toes, due to the stabs touching the ground. Even a few mm would help a lot, but the kibble can only slide up so far before it'll go past the bottom peg. The original version of the mold solved this by having the tailbooms actually slide up past the shin a bit, but with the changing of the peg position (there's still mold marks inside of the original location) you can't go quite as far now.

Character Art Appreciaton Thread II
David Hingtgen replied to d3v's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
It's no different from US animation, where most boys are voiced by women. -
Goody, because I don't think the HA one is THAT good. (yeah it's good, but it's not drool-worthy). Now if we can just get a Leader Barricade... (after Leader SS, I've pretty much given up all hope of Hasbro ever giving us a really good jet in the main line, the MP Seekers will probably be it for this decade----gimmicks over sculpts seems to be THE over-ruling thing these days no matter how much it hurts the looks)

G.I. Joe Pursuit Of Cobra
David Hingtgen replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I really just want them to make some more figs using the best 25th Baroness mold, armored Scarlett, Helix, etc. A few new parts, variations, etc. Still really want a 25th-style Cover Girl. (they can call her whatever they want, put her in whatever line they want--but so long as she's got reddish/auburn hair and a leather jacket, it'll do) And a Techno-Viper. -
Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series

No comments? I really enjoyed the latest 2-parter. First time we've seen Grievous really USE his sabers/agility since Tartakovsky's.- 1217 replies

If nothing else, it utterly lacks the intake kibble. (and no extra-thick forearms)
-
???? What is that?

Ignore them. Delete them.

I'm pretty sure "stabilizer mode" is something thought up of at the last minute by the marketing team just to add a "feature" to the toy... It's kind of like when a DVD lists "chapter selection" and "trailers" on the box as special bonuses.

I believe the explanation is that he wanted to make them look like samurai swords hanging from the waist. That, or he was thinking of the YF-19. It certainly has nothing to do with airplane aesthetics or aerodynamics. Remember that Megatron and Soundwave are just as agile in the air in robot mode as the seekers.

HFH=Hory Froating Head=Shoji Kawamori. It's MW's own in-joke. Someone else will have to dig up the original thread/pics.
-
Why? Because HFH wanted them there.

Macross Frontier Movie 1,YES it is subbed now edition
David Hingtgen replied to sharky's topic in Movies and TV Series
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought her actual face was different, and it wasn't just the hair and glasses. (I didn't say anything for fear of people thinking I was nuts) I'd say the eyes (especially the upper outline), nose, and mouth are all different. General shape of the face/jaw is the same, but the tip of the nose doesn't angle up, her brows are different at the inner corners, and the mouth is just totally different (even ignoring lack of lipstick). Maybe the same people who did episode 8 did Grace in the movie... -
I don't buy expensive stuff from HLJ any more, mainly because of that rule.

http://www.pspvideo9.com/ I know it works, but it took long enough (and I have a decently fast PC) that I didn't deem it worth it to do another two-dozen eps, and I don't remember the settings.

I usually get SAL from HLJ in about 10 days---I never spring for EMS.

I prefer the hair up and glasses too. -

Consider me weird if you want, but I actually prefer the flightsuit. Anyways---hair down is far more interesting than no glasses. PS--isn't the term "female Alto" redundant? PPS---is that pretty much the entire movie there? That's practically her only scene. Hope her role in the next one's bigger. (being the main villain at the end, it's kind of required) -
Novice styrene/foam board builder looking for tips
David Hingtgen replied to Iceblue106's topic in The Workshop!
I wouldn't be surprised if pink and blue foam is now banned by California, especially SoCal. "Everything and anything contains a chemical known to the state of California to cause birth defects and/or harm" -
I got my package from HLJ today, it was sent via SAL on Dec 23.

Tailcodes don't really mean much for the Navy when it comes to squadrons--just shows what carrier they're assigned to at the moment. (Marines and Air Force codes indicate what base and sometimes what wing).
-
The VFX-2 scheme mixes elements of several. But the "thick horizontal yellow rudder stripes with yellow tops" and "yellow with black borders" forward fuselage stripe pegs it as VF-142's design, the Ghostriders. (whose callsign is NOT Ghostrider, and thus NOT who Maverick and Goose flew for) Also, AA identifies the wing, not the squadron. A wing will usually have multiple squadrons assigned to it at a time. And squadrons will change what wing they belong to every once in a while. In the Navy at least, almost any squadron can be assigned to almost any wing at any time. You can even have a reserve squadron "bump" a frontline Marines or Navy squadron from a wing.
