No. We have members here who did enjoy RT. What we're saying is a while a majority of us will say, "Don't waste your time", we do have a few who will say "Go ahead and watch it". And if you go to Robotech.com, you'll get a reverse of our answer. What I'm telling you is go watch it yourself and come back to us and tell us what you thought when you have finished it.

Agreed. Best solution is to Hulu or Youtube (yes, it's legally available to watch on Youtube) and watch the episodes. Once you're done, come back to us and tell us if you enjoyed or wasted 1909 minutes of your life.

(Tentative) Live Programming schedules are now posted: http://www.anime-expo.org/programming/schedules/

The EW version is called "Deathsycthe Hell". Notice the name "Deathsycthe EW", as in the Gundam Deathsycthe which would have been the predecessor to Deathsycthe Hell in Endless Waltz, had it been shown, which was designed by Katoki.

Ahem.... *points at all the Macross Japanese merchandise in the past 2 years* Nah, that's just how the world works. $$$$$$$!

I don't mind the suspenders but I would prefer them to be a bit more slender, and the pouches looking more like ammo pouches, similar to those seen on paratroopers of that era. It's a functional combat suit, which is what it should be. As I noted earlier (which I hid in spoiler tags cuz it did get a bit into the plot), there are reports of the production using both the classic look for the Cap's USO appearances and then the suit pictured at the start of this thread for his combat suit. If they're gonna give him a chin strap, why not give him a M1 helmet. Having the helmet integrated with the mask with the chin strap seems a bit silly. The wings can be painted on.

By the gods, what Photoshoppery bedevils Chris Hemsworth as Thor? (HitFlix) So yes, they are the real concept drawings. But no, it's not the final costume.

I'd rather not bring this back up but start from here and read the subsequent posts about it-> http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=29211&view=findpost&p=793783 And yes, I did ask Egan about it but he has yet to get back to me (let alone if he even knows himself). -

Both 100-total or 100/side still seem somewhat unreasonable. Double dipping on the A's I see. -
Most of the classic images of Thor in the comics has him with the helmet.

I heard it's staying in the 1940s. http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/100505-marvel-studios-confirms-chris-evans-for-captain-america

It's the real concept art (linky). It might translate a tad differently to screen, but the art is legit and will probably be 99% similar to the on-screen combat costume.
-
Then you haven't seen this: The renders EXO posted are pretty close to the real costume.

That suit looks a bit too stylish for a movie that's suppose to be set during WWII. but that suit feels a tad too modern for the 1940s. Parts of it look like the Batsuit from The Dark Knight; especially the shoulder guards and chest. And why couldn't they just paint some wings on the side of the head?

Needs the cap/helmet.

How about the simplest...she just didn't take her husband's last name. Yes, women do that. Talk about a lot of detail...they got killed under a subversion act for not going along with the implants...talk about bending the law...

"Canon" is whatever the rights holders want it to be. And IIRC, Kevin Siembieda was the one who wrote the RPGs...not Macek.

I'm getting the weird feeling that the Hobby Japan listing might be for the 1/250 Bandai VF collection model. I've never known Hobby Japan to spotlight many scratch-built kits like Dengeki Hobby unless they're highlighting the VF-25G kit in that page and showing how it would look repainted. But like I said, of kits that could be milked, I find it a little odd that Bandai hasn't put out a VF-25A kit (which would be a mostly recolored VF-25G). We've had a Deculture-version of the G (the one with the Klan-decals) and we've gotten a VF-27-Beta. But no VF-25A yet?
-
As sketchley noted, there hasn't been much literature on this VF-25A. Yes, I'm sure we're well aware that it appears in the series, but the amount of written info has been hard to come by. In 49 issues of the Chronicle (unless it magically appears in #50), there's been no mention of it. The Chronicle even mentions the VF-27-Beta and Gamma, in writing, but there's been no mention of this "A-version" of the VF-25. Not even a model for Bandai to milk the G-mold from.
-
Or the VF-25VJ Vajra Aggressor... (IIRC, both of those showed up in Model Graphix)

As I understand it, the OAV/HD/cage version fixes a few problems with the ver. Ka model (waist movement, restricted joint issues, etc). It also has a different, perhaps anime-correct, color scheme, and adds a few details. Yummm. Does this mean we're gonna get more ver. Ka-Gundam W kits? They sure like making Katoki designs into MGs.

Maybe. Happinet Online (linky) has it listed as Deathscythe EW. What that "EW" means, I have no clue. I threw out the ver. Ka because I don't recall the TV series Deathscythe mounting the beam scythe being mounted on the backpack, but on the back skirt. It could be the TV version but what's with that "EW"? Are they trying to distinguish it from something?

I'm not sure having PJ do the film is a good idea if the reason he would do it is to protect New Line's and Warners' investment in the series. In MGM's case, Stephen Cooper is the current CEO. MGM was trying to get bought out but they didn't responded to offers by Warners, or allowing Ridley Scott & Tony Scott to take over. If MGM doesn't sell themselves off, they're gonna enter into bankruptcy proceedings, which would kill any chance of any film from them getting made for at least 10 years. MGM has been on life support since, well 2005/2006. It's hard to get something going when there's practically no money in the bank and they're loaning a majority of the time.
