There was a rumor floating around that an MG G-Self was in planning, but nothing's materialized yet.
Which kinda sucks, because I actually did like the G-self's design, if nothing else about the show.
It's a shame, too, as I rather liked quite a few of the designs that came out of Reconguista and would have loved to see some 1/100 kits of them. I generally like to keep my Gundam models limited to the 1/100 scale, but will settle with 1/144 if there isn't any other options.
-
Is it just HLJ not having them or was Reconguista In G so unpopular that they didn't bother producing any 1/100 scale kits for it?

The 360 slims lack the memory card slot.

Update: I will definitely be in Japan this September. I plan to do a couple of days in Kyoto, so making a side trip to Osaka to see the exhibit shouldn't be a problem!

I'm hoping to be in Japan in September and will definitely have to check it out if I do go!

I wish that I could have seen this in person. The only Avro Vulcan that I've seen was the one on display at the Royal Air Force Museum.

frothymug got it with DuelGundam. He's still up to his usual schtick and has been called out on it.

So, I ran into this little gem of a quote while reading the thread, "What are you watching right now?" on Anime News Network:
"I don't bother with metaphors since they are useless"Anyone want to guess what former member this is?

I don't think that I've ever chosen any particular side when it came to console wars. I owned both a SNES, and a Sega Genesis, with the Genesis being first, followed by the SNES about a year later. Hell, I even owned a PCEngine DUO!

With 100+ episodes, it looks like Legend of the Galactic Heroes is out of the question, huh?

I remember a guy that I know saying that he didn't want to have to think while driving as an excuse not to learn how to drive stick. I just told him that he was an idiot, since, that once you learn, you don't actually have to think about what gear you need to be in.

I haven't owned a car with an automatic transmission in over 20 years! The last time that I drove an automatic car (2009 when I rented a Dodge Magnum during a vacation), it felt so damn sluggish!
Sorry, Duke, I hate that we're all making you feel lonely with our ability to drive cars with manual transmissions!

Real Ospreys don't look like Ospreys on film, so they use a Tiger Moth with "USMC" painted on the side instead (which would not actually be the most blatant movie example of the "But thats not a - !" in films... ).
You mean like the MiGs they fight at the end of Top Gun?
-
Does that mean if you missed Macross the First volume 1-5 you can just buy volume 6 and get everything?
No, I think that just means volume 6 gets you everything that's been put up on ComicWalker for Macross the First, which I believe started somewhere in the middle of what would be the fifth volume.

It has been a few years, so I think I should probably rewatch Heroic Age.

Having returned from Japan, I was surprised at how Gunpla flows like water in Tokyo and beyond. For those planning their trip to Japan, here are three of the best places to buy Gunpla, as they cost hundreds of yen less than retail.
1. Yodobashi Camera (several locations in Japan)
2. Gundam Front Tokyo (Diver City Mall, Odaiba)
3. Bandai Asobi (Gotemba Premium Outlets, Shizuoka)
Gotemba Premium Outlets also has the advantage of a perfect view of Mount Fuji.
In addition, there's an ongoing promo with Yodobashi Camera and Bandai Asobi wherein you get a Gundam 00 sticker sheet (your choice of Celestial Being or the three Earth factions) for every Gunpla purchase.
Gunpla is pretty much everywhere you go in Japan. The toy section in the department store in Onojo City, Fukuoka, had a pretty impressive collection of Gundam kits. I think they were also priced below what it says on the box.

Dammit, I wish that these chapters were longer!

Actually, you see the Tomahawk firing both ways in DYRL. The first one we see is shown firing the two single shots from each arm. There's a second Tomahawk shown a few minutes later, firing the arm guns in rapid succession.

I'm still betting that if the live action Robotech movie actually does get made, the general public will probably think that it's just a Transformers rip-off.

this is a bit of an odd one. I really don't collect anything like this (I don't go after old series character figures, I don't care for big backdrops that are meant to be viewed from a single angle and I don't like busts/partial body figures). but I have his really big soft spot for french art nouveau that this is really taping into and I kind of want it.
Funny that today I should find myself browsing through the book that contained the illustration that this figure is based on.

Speaking of MZ 23, I picked up a cel from Part II last weekend.

Finished watching From The New World. Mindblowing stuff. I watched on Crunchyroll but I'm definitely getting the BD's. It's that good. Absolutely and eminently recommendable series.
For a small change of pace, I'm now going back a couple of decades and gonna watch Irresponsible Captain Tylor. Have heard good things about it.
Glad to hear that you liked it!

I bought every issue of Macross Ace! Well, almost all of them. The friend that was getting them for me wasn't able to get the last issue. That's the only one I'm missing.
80's OVA's your desperate to see?
in Anime or Science Fiction

I believe that you can find some episodes (if not the entire series) on YouTube.
