I like the pic of the dude laying under the box!
Hee!

Wow, I was wrong, The priss figure actually looks very good and the red on the Motoslave itself is very nice,
From ToyboxDX.com,
The box art shows the hand held cannon to be shorter than the motoslave. Most line art I've seen shows the cannon being taller than the motoslave.

Has anybody seen the latest FIX coming out? The GP-03 Stamen? It's coming in with a potential configuration that I haven't seen before. Anyone ever seen this? It's kind of like the Dendrobium, but in a lightweight configuration.

First true anime I ever saw was Madox 01 - Metal Skin Panic. I really liked the armored suits and the detail of the animation. Followed that up with Gunbuster, Dangaioh, Bubblegum Crisis, Gall Force, Appleseed and Dominion Tank Police.
I know I've seen at least one Dirty Pair OVA, but can't remember which one. Something to do with a mining facility I think..........quite entertaining though. I did own A Wind Named Amnesia once, didn't really dig it much. I have seen Akira, and while it was wonderfully animated, it was one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen.
I did pick up the Crusher Joe DVD that Animego had available, couldn't pass up the $5.00 price. Gotta like those clearance items! Crusher Joe is pretty cool and just a bit gritty. My local cable provider has a reasonable anime selection available through On Demand. I finally saw an episode of Iczer 1, something called DNA2 that looked very 80's and one other one that escapes me.
I guess I could count watching the Americanized versions of Speed Racer, Battle of the Planets (Gatchaman), Starblazers (Space Cruiser Yamato) and Voltron as my introduction to anime back in the 70's. Think I can also remember Tranzor Z (Mazinger Z) being on at some point. Of course, I had no concept of the word "Anime" until the late 1980's.

If you are going to keep your system for a bit longer, there are still AGP cards to be had based on the newer generation of GPU's (graphical processing units). You wouldn't really need to spend anymore than about $200 either. What processor are you using in this PC? You might run into a bottleneck issue with the CPU not being able to keep up with the vid card.
I just read an article in the February issue of CPU magazine that had a nice article about this very subject. For ATI, they liked the Sapphire X1650 Pro and for Nvidia, the XFX Geforce 7600GT.

I need to buy a new computer ASAP. Would the following be decent (and if not, what would you recommend):
Processor - Intel Core E6400
Memory - 2GB SD 667MHZ
Hard Drive - 320GB
Graphics - 256 NVIDIA GeForce 7500LE
If you're looking for a budget graphics card, look for a 256MB 7600GT instead. But it looks like you're off to a good start. 2GB memory kits seem to be a little pricey ATM, depending on which memory you buy. But the E6400 is a good chip right now, although the E6600 seems to be the sweet spot.

I met Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr. Mohammad Yunus in London back in December. Got a picture taken by the official photographer too. Course it helps that my fiancee works for him..........but he's just the nicest man you'd ever want to meet.

I once met Vendela Thomasson - Sports Illustrated swim suit model. I had all intentions of treating her like everyone else, shook her hand and promptly forgot how to talk............
Talk about embarrasing!!!
Also met Hugh Jackman and his wife. He'e a really decent person and his wife is a sweetie. My GF and I saw Hugh in The Boy From Oz and had an opportunity to have our picture taken with him after the show as part of some AIDS related fund raising.
Although in the picture, I look a little possessed.............

I just learned about this series about two weeks ago and was able to catch an episode the other night. It looks like it ought to be fun and the mecha designs look cool too.
I look forward to exploring this series some more.
-
That was hilarious!!!!

Beautiful!
Excellent work thus far. The painting really brings out the detailing.

I'll soon be driving a 2006 Volvo V50 T5. Not very sporty, but practicality is important at the moment.
-
Cool!
It'll be cool to see a finished product. The folks who made those had other Yukikaze models. Not sure if I saw that here or someplace else. There were JAM & FAF fighters as well as the prop driven plane from episode 2.
-
I have only seen the first three episodes of Yukikaze. The storyline is a little hard to follow, but the aircombat scenes are pretty cool. I remember folks here talking about the series a coupla years back and the general concensus seemed to be that the story was crap.
The story may be crap, but you can't deny that the plane designs are pretty interesting. I am still hoping that Yellow Submarine will make the 1/144th Slyphid. I have one of the Mave models and it's pretty cool.
I just Bandai will get with the program and release the entire series to the North American market....................
-
I like the design. Vaguely but not unlike the fighters from Rahxephon.

hey Knight26, excellent avatar you have there!!!! I love Hank Caruso's work!

In TMS, you can make your own car with 3rd party 3D modeling tools.
I drive an Aston Martin Vanquish in the Island environment. I would like to learn how to make my own cars for this game. I can think of a couple that would be fun to model.
-
I know some of us here are car buffs and I just noticed recently that Macross is now represented in TMS! Someone who doesn't seem to know that MW exists made a YF-19 model to race with.
edit in: I just re-read the first post of the thread at DJ......Chronocidal, is this your model?
For anyone who hasn't heard of this game, it's a fun car racing game. It's the only one that I have found for PC that allows you to actually purposely jump over stuff. And depending on how the jumps are built, you can get some serious hangtime! The game includes a track editor that is quite easy to use. The only limit to the editor is your imagination.
:-)
The game is moddable so that you can create your own car models as well as skins for the existing game cars. The online racing component is fun too. I've been on some servers that have had up to 20 people racing at once. One thing about this game is that there is no collision detection between cars. But once you've raced online, you'll realize why it's a good thing. The cars in this game can reach speeds of 900mph.
Go here for the demo and game trailers
I believe that I have seen a Nissan Skyline model for the game.
If you're looking for a new PC game, give this one a look.

That's the one I was thinking about! Glad to see Burn is alive and well!
-
There was someone who used to post here pretty regularly that had all the opening movies from the games available. Even the SD version of the opening of Macross.
Don't know the link anymore though..........

Nice work Ido. Nice to see Kakizaki getting some love.
-
Unfortunately, his site is no longer up. I know I still have the file on a CD someplace. I'd be happy to send a copy to you. I'd offer to e-mail it, but it's something like 58MB in size I think. There was also someone called Takaken who has a nice fan film thingie.
Let me know if you'd like me to send a CD to you.
Just PM me.

There was a guy who goes the alias Ryutaro who has a very cool unfinished fan film. I think there used to be a link to his site from MW. I've seen one other that was quite long. Can't remember who did it though.
