  1. Was there any difference in the contents? i'm blind.... a straight reissue or did something get tweeked or improved?
  2. Well you could download a high quality torrent versions with the hard-coded subtitles then burn them to blu-ray. I bought the official blurays too, but since they don't have the subs, i got the torrents & watch them thru my PS3. The quality loss isn't that drastic.
  3. There have been some unofficial chinese engrish DVD's on ebay. I believe some of them used the fan-subs for the dvd's. I haven't seen any blu-ray versions. But there have been some nice high-quality 8gb+ torrent versions of each film out there if you know where to look.
  4. I'm just going to go with this as being 1/48 scale.... atleast for the sake of my own sanity...
  5. AGREED. Consider this a transforming Jumbo machinder. We can't be so brutal critics on this one. This isn't Hasbro-Takara, Bandai, Yamato, etc. For a first round attempt this is far from perfect but a nice effort. We can't grade this on the same level as any masterpiece, Macross or even Transformers for that matter. And for $35, given the size & general anime accuracy this is a thumbs up product for what it is. And a fully transformable & poseable Voltron the size of a Jumbo Machinder as the end product is well worth it. If any other company made it, the price would be 2 to 3 times as much & much smaller. My only grief is the legs & tails are not silver. But given the plastic is only a few molecules short of being vinyl i guess the off-white almost grey will have to do. But by the time we get the 5th lion most of that will be forgotten as the King will overshadow all others figures on the shelves.
  6. So who is going to be the first to repaint the Red Lion's legs CHROME or SILVER?? I'm hesitant because those springs & internal gear locking hinges may be a problem getting back together properly. And i'm not trying the mask off & spray technique on this. Although... a chrome/silver gundam paint marker may do the trick but i'd be scared to handle it afterwards... Matty: if this is geared for adult collectors (as the box clearly states), then what makes you think we want these goofy useless '3 years & up' type gimmicks?? And is there still plans for these to hit retail at some point? And any predictions on the convention exclusive chrome legged voltron?
  7. Haaa... so true. Plus both series seem to have size changing abilities.... But looking at my 1/48 Valk hangar, the human crew look pretty "anime accurate" to most of the scale references from the series. I'll post some pics this week.
  8. Got my Red Lion from Mattycollector today... much bigger then i thought. Has anybody tried to figure out the scale of this thing? Looks pretty close to 1/48.
  9. A lil historic Red Tail respect.... P-51, VF-0 & VF-1 history....
  10. I was just thinking of a fun semi-accurate quick kitbash/repaint that my 5 year old may actually be able to play with. I forgot this was the hardcore super accurate customizing forum... I have no workshop or garage access so no major scratch building projects for me. But now that more pics have surfaced, looks like those side fans may come pre-assembled to the main body. So it will definately require more work then i intended... may just repaint it, slap some UN SPACY decals on it & have to put in my alternate universe Macross display area like i did with my Prometheus... ..
  11. True.We will never have a perfect scale Macross carrier. But this helicarrier willl probably require some assembly out the box. The bridge, crane & side fans probably come off easily. And considering we will never get a 3ft long ARMD it may be the closest thing we see outside of a scratch build. I'm just thinking of a fun alternative to my current home for my 1/144 valks.... another out of scale, non-accurate Prometheus....
  12. I smell a kitbash coming.... Avengers 3ft long Helicarrier... Marvel News Reviews Images and more - MarvelousNews.com
  13. Haaahaaa.... good eyes. The display just kinda evolved into a post-war interior, multi-deck hangar view of the SDF-1 flying over a newly rebuilt Macross City on Earth. It was either New York at night or Hong Kong. I thought the irony was kinda funny too. Haaa.... thanks. I've been focusing on the 1/48's, but i wanted a shot out to the SMS in there somewhere....
  14. HUH?? thought it was only 49 eps , i never got past ep 3 & totally skipped the OVA's...... off to check my hard drive....
  15. OH.... haaa.... got to love mix n match 1/7 scale parts.
  16. Yeah, if Macross 7 had meltran's like that i could actually finish watching it....
  17. VF-18S Hornet That after concert scene is awesome !!!!! Good one. I didn't even realize that piece at the bottom of Arses box was a bikini top... ... i thought it was a spare set of bikini bottoms... i was scared to remove anything since that soft vinyl didn't look like it would go back on without being distorted.
  18. It helps to have understanding wife. This is what mine has to wake up to everyday.... Of course her side of the room is all disney snow globes, teddy bears, hearts, etc.... . .
