  1. The SH Figuarts monsters are more along the lines of Bandai Super Robot Chogokin scale, which is too small to look right next to the 1/60 valks. Take a look at the SH Figuarts Godzilla line for an example of their scale... really nice figs, but generally small.
  2. I have a serious love/hate thing for the 1/48's, but aside from my super stealth 1J, this is maybe the only other 1/48 I would love owning. Pure hotness!
  3. Good first effort Benson! From the looks of it, I'd say you just need a little more practice playing with different sculpting techniques and the properties of the glue gun and glue itself. Do you think you could get a closer shot of the cloud bases for the missiles? I know it's a pain to do once they're painted white, but it'd help to see the surface detail in order to give you feedback. Rock on, man.
  4. All my Mac F valks have scratches on the black areas around the nose/cockpit due to where that section ends up during transformation. I'm sure there's people out there that are very soft handed with their valks and transform them like they're defusing a bomb, but I find myself not giving a f*ck... lol. If I ever need to sell them, sharpie to the rescue. (but I'm not ever going to sell them, so... =).
  5. Stoked that you're stoked, Darrin! Looking forward to more pics. @Benson - Looking good! I'll PM you soon once my crazy work week dies down...
  6. He's actually about to undergo a 2nd adamantium injection process... haha. As much as I love my MU figs, their non-rocker hinge ankles straight suck!
  7. Thanks for the props everyone! It's hard to really compare them to the GBP exclusives though since my effects and Yamato's are emulating two very different art styles from two different eras of animation. I feel like the Yamato effects were great in capturing the hand drawn old school art in the original Macross, but the modern cg art in Frontier requires a very different approach in order to be accurate to what was shown on screen. I'm pretty happy with how it came together.
  8. If anyone is interested in commissioning me for anything, just send me a pm and we'll work out the details. Still working out the logistics for setting up my store, but I'll take order requests for now based on the time I have available to work on stuff. Thanks!
  9. Yeah... I tried to emulate the Yamato GBP effects as much as possible, but for the VF-25's, I just did my own thing based off screenshots. Since Frontier was CG'd, I think it also shows the difference between old school hand drawn anime vs. modern techniques.
  10. Just posted these in my DIY thread, but figured it'd go well in this thread too... enjoy! I'll get to the other missile pods later, but too many other projects going on for now. There aren't too many good photos for Ozma's missile launch sequence, so I did the best I could with what I had to make it accurate...
  11. First VF-25 with missile effects? Maybe...
  12. Took a break from my Itano Ozma project to address a more pressing issue in my Mac Frontier display: SPACE. My previous idea of using the stand parts worked okay, but it cluttered up the space more than I thought it would. This solution is way more versatile, and I can now fit at least 4 (or possibly 5, I think!) of my Frontier valks on just the right side of the shelf alone. It can also do battroid and guardian modes, but no space for that at the moment (or ever). I now believe I solved the mystery of how to jam a future RVF into my Detolf's Frontier corner. FINALLY, a Frontier display that I am completely satisfied with...
  13. I think folks can figure out where I'm going with this. Made one of my 10 cent flight stands for armored Ozma, and I'm putting the finishing touches on some missiles for his "Fired a billion missiles and I only managed to piss it off..." attack. lol Enjoy the finished smoke burst effects in the meantime.
  14. Experimenting with some new display tech while trying to incorporate the renewal valk holder pieces (since they hold the valk firmly). Once I get the bends and measurements right, I'll be hitting up tap plastics to see how much acrylic hangers would cost (to replace the wire hangers).
