I think it's a pretty easy guess that the next will be M&M 1J's and they will most likely be offered in both the FP and non-FP flavors just like the Hikaru 1J.
-
Well, since the Yamato toys transform and the Hasegawa models do not, I'd say the Yamato toys are BETTER. I do, however, remember seeing a site where someone had modified a Hasegawa model and made it transformable. Wish I still had that link.

In one of the other threads on these boards, it was pretty much decided that the 1/60 Yamato GBP uses "false" shoulders that slip over the valk's actual shoulders for whatever reason (presumably because they couldn't find a good way to attach the shoulder missle pods). If this is the case, everyone who is thinking they will be able to put the armor on any of their 1/60 valks, might be a little dissapointed as the "false" shoulder pieces are solid white. This means it will only look right on the 1J's and the CF-1A. All the other valks have that black portion on their shoulders which would magically disappear with the armor on. Of course, it's still like 5+ months away from being released so maybe they'll change that part of the design (IMHO, it makes the shoulders look too big anyways). Just my 2 cents.

The non-FP version has the better box IMHO. And it looks like the non-FP version also gets the TV-style hands. I might just have to get both now. How can I possibly be expected to afford all of this ?

Please forgive the ignorance, but if DYRL is supposed to be a movie made to "re-tell" SW1, then how come when the Macross (SDF-1) appears in Mac+ it is the DYRL version and not the TV version?
-
That's just beautiful.....this is my favorite valk from the entire Macross series. I can hardly wait, this will be my first 1/48. A bit off topic but the 1/48's don't come "sealed" do they? I think I remember reading that in one of the other posts here. The reason I ask is because I typically keep all things MISB, but if the 1/48's don't come sealed, there will be no problems opening it up.

I hope that's not the final packaging (although something tells me it is). That packaging is horrid. Just look at the pose they have Prime in on the back of the box...it's an injustice. Oh well, it's just a box I suppose, here's hoping Takara's will be better

You can put it in my house if you'd like . -
No, there has not been any confirmation as of yet regarding the length of the smoke stacks. People are just assuming that they will most likely be shortened because of what happened with the Hasbro Prime reissue. We do know that the Hasbro version WILL have the same level of die-cast content and it WILL (for better or worse) have the battle damage decor.
-
Hasbro made the deal with Bandai/et al (Tatsunoko or Big West?). Hasbro lost the rights to depict Jetfire/Skyfire as a VF-1 many years ago and that is why Harmony Gold is able to put out their "serious" VF-1 MPC toys out on the market without worrying about legal retribution from Hasbro. I didn't mean to imply that Hasbro created jetfire, we all know he is simply a repainted VF-1S, I just meant that I don't think he was ever released in Japan as part of the Transformers line by Takara.

Ya know, going from memory, I thought you were wrong. So I watched the part of DYRL with Max's VF-1S and, sure enough, I couldn't find a single frame where the heatshield was blue. Max's heatshield is definitely blue on his 1A though, I guess that's why people assume his 1S's heatshield would also be blue. I wonder if the intent was for all VF-1S's to have a black heatshield except for Hikaru's simply because he's the "hero". It'd be funny to find out that the red heatshield was a mistake after all .

I voted "All of the above except for holding mock battles." I figure this is what most people on these boards mean when they say the play with their valks. I, however, do not play with mine at all, but that's another poll
-
It's threads like these that make me glad all of my stuff is MISB. Sure I don't get to play with them, but they'll never break either, plus it sounds like in a couple of years after all of you guys' toys are broke, I'm gonna make a mint selling parts....mwahahahahahaha...ummm, just kidding
-
I keep everything MISB (except two Yamato 1/60's that are duplicates) so I definitely don't play with mine, but just because I don't doesn't mean others shouldn't.

I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with this one. Maybe it's been fixed since you posted the link? It does say that it's been revised. Either that or I'm totally missing it (hope it's not the latter, I can't afford a shrink ).

LOL. Ya know, I was thinking the same thing earlier. I have no idea why suddenly anything G1 has to be battle damaged. This company also made an Optimus Prime statue that, while really nice, also has the battle damage thing going on. Palisades Optimus Prime Statue -
Battroid w/FAST packs. No particular reason, it just looks the best to me.

Good enough for me....and I love your avatar

While I don't think it's "stupid", I do have issue with the fact that they (the developers of the game) won't tell anyone HOW to become a Jedi. I totally understand and support their intent to keep the Jedi population to a bare minimum, I even support the idea of perma-death for the Jedi, I just thought it was wrong for them to say "it's a secret" and leave it at that. They gave no hints, no pointers, nada. You just had to take their word for it that someone would one day be a Jedi. To me, I always felt that it was because, at release, the game wasn't finished yet and they just hadn't coded it yet. Oh well, I quit awhile back ago and have no desire to return. As someone else already stated: "Too little too late".

Oh don't get me wrong, I did like it. And I still like some of the toys, especially the upcoming 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime..that thing is schweet. Regarding GI Joe: now that you mention it, I don't think I've ever seen the GI Joe movie....I might need to check that out. I was a huge GI Joe fan as a kid. Oh yeah, back to the topic....umm...that statue's pretty cool, but the face doesn't quite look like the cartoon if you ask me -

Even though I loved Transformers as a kid, and nostalgia has convinced me to buy some of the reissues and the upcoming 20th Anniv. Prime, I find it harder to get back into Transformers in my adult years. Mainly because of the scale issues. I tried to watch TF: The Movie the other night and I broke out into hysterical laughter when Astrotrain transformed into a space shuttle and ALL of the Decepticons got inside. I was like "whoaaaa, how the hell did a robot that is smaller than Megatron transform into a space shuttle that is large enough for Devestator (fully combined mind you) and all of the other decepticons to fit in?" That just ruined it for me. I know, I know...it shouldn't matter, it's all about good fun, but for some reason it really just took me out of the mood. Also, ever notice that Megatron transformed into a pistol that Starscream or Soundwave could hold (they both did so a few times in the show), but Soundwave transformed into a walkman that was small enough for a human to use? Whaaa?!?!?! Oh well, guess this was kind of off topic. Sorry. -
That's a lot of hardware being pointed at your face. Is it just me, or does that look like a big nut sack behind him?
-
Uh-oh, you will be flamed for sure now . Just joking. I am in the minority around here that actually likes the Toynami valks.
-
When Hell freezes over . Do you really think Hasbro or Takara are that stupid? Takara? no. hasbro? Certainly. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Jetfire was strictly a Hasbro thing. Meaning, I don't think Jetfire was ever released in Japan by Takara.

There has always been inter-planet travel in the game in the form of "shuttles". I played the game for about three months when it first came out. Biggest waste of $110 I ever spent IMO.
