never seen it before...I think it may be a fan-made item...perhaps a limited licensed release at one of the shows.....I can try to find more info on it...but I agree with Tenjin's post...I would be flipping the dang thing over and over again like some 3 year old with a pop-up book! lol @Shawn you seen this one in your searches for Macross rarities?
-
Don't think I have ever seen someone try this...actually looks pretty good! ...I wonder if something similar can be fudged with the Yamato and HM molds?

Not a "Disney Store"....it's a "Disney Outlet" store for the merch they can't sell from the webstore and some park merch (there are also Disney Outlet stores near WDW and some other cities in the US)...I doubt the Macross/D+ poster would ever show up there...if it did it would be a bad sign for "WWM"...LOL...anyways, "Disney Stores" were another casualty of the pandemic...they are all gone... Maybe via the Japanese online Disney store at some point?... https://shopdisney.disney.co.jp/ Since it is not officially a D+ show in the US...perhaps on the Hulu store? https://shop.hulu.com/pages/shop-by-show
-
yeah...they are still around..., in my neck of the woods you'd think they never went out of style....Disney Stores...not so much.... I think there may still be some in Europe or Asia, but I think all "brick & mortar" US Disney Stores closed down a few years ago...all about web shopping or the Parks if you need specific Disney merch...

I'll definitely be picking up this release at some point....but passing on both PO night and day... The last few releaes have actually sold for less than purchasing directly from Japan....so I'll just wait...I can definitely see the clown prince of VFs getting discounted in the future, perhaps by Black Friday or Xmas... At this point, the only releases I will act on quickly, for now, will only be SDFM and DYRL PO's...as we still don't have much of a choice on them....

Maybe young people's attention spans are too short to remember what part of the "R" stands for? lol

They look kind of chunky to me... The upper torso reminds me of a Yamato 1/48 scale attached to smaller scale legs... Any indication of when the VF-1J will be released?

I think it would benefit HG to have all associations regarding Robotech to ultimately be about "Macross"...which, in terms of most of the world, that is most likely to be SDFM...and not any of the other shows...sure, that may change with the upcoming streaming deal...but I think it is a risk to move forward with the franchise worldwide without the original...I know it is controversial to say around these parts...but the majority of the Macross series post M+ are just not that good....it is like being given full access to Star Wars without the Original Trilogy... For HG the ultimate end game would be the licensing and profits generated from Macross' transition to live-action...the more Hollywood equates "Robotech" with "Macross"...the better it is for HG...

Who could possibly object to the release of the DYRL film outside of Japan? Seems to me that both BW and HG would benefit from doing so...in this case it sounds like the road-block is potentially within Japan... With DYRL merch rights seemingly firmly in place with HG outside of Japan...it still makes no sense why they would not be willing to grant it to some licensee...like KC or perhaps Three-Zero, which can only sell "Macross" outside of Japan...not sure what's going on, but I'm hoping with Disney getting involved maybe the parties involved can see the benefits for all in trying to put this final piece in the Macross debacle to rest... Nothing to do other than perhaps upgrade my view to cautiously optimistic from fool's hope...

Yeah, I have not heard anything to the contrary either, which is why it seems odd that they would not want, what is arguably their best licensee (so far), to produce DYRL themed VF-1's.... With that said, alot has changed and it's possible that HG has placed a moratorium on itself when it comes to their DYRL licensing for some reason we are not aware of yet...perhaps HG and BW had decided to revisit that quagmire at some point after their initial deal... The fact that BW still cannot release DYRL merch outside of Japan makes it clear that at least those specific merch rights are not in the hands of BW....
