  1. When Star Wars actually caters to the OG (rapidly aging) Star Wars fans...you get Andor.....when Star Wars wants to force (pun intended) itself upon the preferred demographics or even the original, non-existant demographics (kids)...you get everything else.....Acolyte and Space Pirates....both trash in their own way....one failed because it alienated half their audience...the other failed because kids don't give a sh!t about Star Wars....

Can’t take credit for transcribing this.

But yeah, the message will stick:

      Reveal hidden contents

Fellow Senators, friends, colleagues, allies, adversaries. I stand before you this morning with a heavy heart. I've spent my life in this chamber. I came here as a child. And as I look around me now, I realize I have almost no memories that pre-date my arrival and few bonds of affection that cleave so tightly. Through these many years, I believe I have served my constituents honorably and upheld our code of conduct. This chamber is a cauldron of opinions and we've certainly all had our patience and tempers tested in pursuit of our ideals. Disagree as we might I am hopeful that those of you who know me will vouch for my credibility in the days to come. I stand this morning with a difficult message.

I believe we are in crisis. The distance between what is said and what is known to be true has become an abyss. Of all the things at risk, the loss of an objective reality is perhaps the most dangerous. The death of truth is the ultimate victory of evil. When truth leaves us, when we let it slip away, when it is ripped from our hands, we become vulnerable to the appetite of whatever monster screams the loudest. This Chamber's hold on the truth was finally lost on the Ghorman Plaza. What took place yesterday, what happened yesterday on Ghorman was unprovoked genocide. Yes! Genocide! And that truth has been exiled from this Chamber! And the monster screaming the loudest? The monster we helped create?

The monster who will come for us all soon enough is Emperor Palpatine!

If it is, those streaming charges are gonna go through the roof

...either that or fans can say bye-bye to Macross and anime in general on US streaming services...and that's just the Japanese anime stuff....I personally am not a consumer of anime or even Macross on D+ (I have all the shows on BD)....so if I have to subsidize D+ or any other streaming service to keep 'foreign' shows on their platforms, I will definitely be hitting the cancel button for several streamers...

It’s a 100% mark up on China, but Japan would probably fall under their other foreign tariffs for films. But I really don’t know how all this would work on something that isn’t physical, like a toy from a different country. A lot of the tariff stuff seems very up in the air, more like a concept and I don’t think that the majority in our government (doesn’t matter which side of the political spectrum) understand that anime doesn’t come from America and that the vast majority of animation is done overseas.

I also don’t know if they’d consider stuff already released here free of the tariffs or how they’d really enforce something that could be sent over digitally. I also don’t really know what the effect of a movie trade war would be. Some of our films have to be altered to be shown in other world markets, like China and they could just start outright banning our films altogether. Our big budget films might need to make all their money back from U.S. box offices if things get really rough and pretty much every comic book movie would never make their money back. Same could be possible with streaming. Like if Netflix couldn’t get that last season of Stranger Things out to foreign countries.

Dunno....but think it said 100% tarrif on all foreign produced material....not just China....

The actress for Dina really carries the show now, she's fantastic, Bella is still rather meh as Ellie, but I can deal.

Agreed....now that she is appatently the co-lead...I can deal with it as well....plus she's really cute so there's that....

But he's literally not in the second game, so...

As I said...I had no knowledge of the game's events so was just enjoying the show without any expectations....but killing off your main character is pretty bold, regardless of the media....it's a great show so far, so will give them the benefit of the doubt that they can keep it going....

  8. I had no previous exposure to the Last of Us game franchise....really enjoyed Season 1....but was really shocked that they killed off Joel...wtf?!?

I am not sure if I am all that interested in any of the other characters, especially Ellie....I find her sort of annoying...

It sort of reminds me off how they killed off Glenn from Walking Dead....personally, the show went downhill after that.....the death of Joel is eve worse....he's literally the main character as far as I'm concerned...

Oh well....will keep watching for now

I didn't get the bonus stuff, what all was offered as far as bonuses If I may ask?

The bonus booklet is nice, but most of what was in it was originally published within the Macross Perfect Memory book from back when the show first aired....oddly enough, the booklet contains what I was hoping to find more of in the actual book.....;)

  10. Finally received my copy....it's great to have most of Mikimoto's illustrations collected in one massive book, especially the newer Macross the First era stuff, but the majority of artwork can easily be found in the very early illustration books from the SDFM/DYRL era and M7 era....I was hoping the book would include rough sketches, early renditions of the Macross characters, and the colored pencil drawings of many of his works....I guess I will need to wait for the Ultimate Mikimoto Collection book to be released someday....
