  1. interesting thought/comment....especially when you take into account the 3 "pillars" of Macross...

-- By incorporating old designs into modern times, the things you take into consideration when making new designs are changing as well.

Kawamori It's one of the trends in the world of "Macross," but if we don't do something new, including the era and the characters, the system will taper off. In reality, we're in a difficult situation with drones everywhere, so it's a difficult time for manned fighter jet design.

It's like taking out "lightsabers" from Star Wars, that worked well enough for D+'s Andor....not sure if I would care for Macross without a shiny new VF, especially considering shiny new VFs are the only thing keeping me interested in the Macross franchise these days....:unknw:

Definitely some strong opinions here about this release lol
I'm personally looking forward to it. It almost looks like a test shot.

So are they referring to 'Iron Type" of being old school "Iron Works" or literally the old Imai Iron Type kits?
"Chogokin's 50th anniversary product, VF=1J Valkyrie from DX Chogokin, is commercialized with gunmetal, black plating, and smoke clear parts inspired by the iron type of yesteryear. "

This could have been a production run of the long-overdue VF-1A Hayao TV, to complete the squadron. But no, we're getting something...unique instead.

Why stop complaining there? We could have had an HMR Tomahawk and Phalanx by now if Bandai stopped making HMR "everything else"...

Can't read the description but I imagine being that cheap it was used, maybe not even in good shape

It was listed as "unopened"...a pic shows the tape seal....additionally it was a full auction with 35 bidders...

These just don't sell for as much as they did in the past....

2 are currently collecting dust on Mandarake....both used

  5. I'll get one at some point...but will not be jumping through Bandai's hoops to get it...

It's clearly marked as an SDFM product on the website...interesting....

HG-KC recently posted about some licensing meeting in Japan....I won't believe there has been some "breakthrough" until I am able to purchase a legit VF-1 from either SDFM or DYRL off of an American retailer on PO day....this unmarked (just stripes and no UN Spacy Kite logo) "Chogokin" 50th Anniversary "VF-1" barely counts in my book....but it's a potential start I suppose...:unknw:

  6. This has been asked several times before.  There really are no available "hard" numbers when it comes to Macross.  The only figure ever really tossed around that actually came directly from former Takatoku/Bandai execs was the claim of 1M VF-1J units sold during the SDFM Era.

Before 2002 and immediately after 1984-1985...there was a large chunk of time where officially released Macross merch was few and far between.....after the release of DYRL, the only merch that came after were the 3 Bandai HCM VF-1s, a "resurrection" Super VF-1S in 1990, and then a few Macross 7 toy releases and accompanying music releases during the release of M7.....it wasn't until the re-release of the old Takatoku 1/55's molds that things started to pick up again, in terms of merch for Macross.  Those releases eventually lead to the rise of Yamato, which was a sort of new "golden age" of Macross toy releases.

There was an old toy trade publication called Toy Journal that may have contained the "sales figures" you seek, but I am not 100% sure if that info would be available within those toy trade industry magazines.  I have a few from the SDFM era, but have not looked particularly "hard" into trying to see if that information exists within them.  Additionally, they are hard to come by, at least covering the years you would need.

It would be "nice" to have this info, but honestly, it may not be worth the effort to try and gain it.

I have always wanted a book dedicated to the "merch of Macross throughout the years", but that will probably never happen.

  7. So the lowest Japan price on PO day with fastest shipping was about $105 total....

Best price so far is E-Knight with free shipping....$115.70 total..

I am pretty sure this will change either prior to release or in the weeks after....it's release in the US will be right around the start of the holiday shopping season...surely there will be some deals to be had...

Of course, if you just can't wait to get your hands on the smirking-faced VF, then money is no object!...

I mean... ok.  Everything I know about FNAF is from watching Game Theory on Youtube.  I watched the first one because it was free on Peacock.  And it was just alright enough that I'd watch a sequel... if it were also free on Peacock.

Pretty sure the target audience is between 2-11....

The fact that you actually watched it means you either have kids in elementary school or had absolutely nothing else to do on that day...lol

Yeah, for some reason I’m not all that excited for this one. I liked the first and saw it in the theater, but so far this just doesn’t interest me as much. Maybe it’ll be greater than I expect, but for now I’ll just wait and see

It also doesn't help that it apparently has nothing to do with the upcoming DC-Gunn-verse....more interested in how that plays out than giving any more time/money towards more "stand-alone" DC movies...
