Meltran ships are not real? Or does he mean they are equivalent to the Zentran ships? That may be true for the SDFM versions (other than color variations)...but they seem completely different as depicted in DYRL......but DYRL is a "dramatization" of the events of SDFM so maybe they really are not different "in-universe"??? Sounds like a question Seto could entertain....

I will never know exactly how many were made....each issue seemed to have come with something similar...but they were not all Macross....and there were at least 3 or 4 different "kids" magazines in publication during the SDFM era that contained them.... Currently, their appearance on the Japanese auction sites or Mandarake are few and far between...... They are among my favorite Macross collectibles....between myself and a few other collectors, we probably have "most" of them, but again, we will never know how many actually comprise a complete set of Macross furoku..... A dream book of mine would be a series that covers ALL of the various Macross collectibles from the SDFM/DYRL era.....it'll probably never happen

Would love a re-issue to include the VF-1D and the GBP armor.....would be epic But I would really like super-sized versions of the 1/55 toy......like double the original's size

A SDFM TV reboot would be great!...the timing would be perfect....40th Anniversary and all of the warm fuzzy feelings going around on both sides of the fence I'd be happy with just re-animating SDFM Macross Fever style!

Dunno...I think Bandai has a built-in "foreign" pieces calculated into their production runs.....there is no way all of those DX's on the secondary market were meant to satisy only the domestic demand...I mean, it's just one country and yet there are plenty of available product to meet anyone's demand outside of Japan....granted at spiked prices, but you can blame the folks buying extras for that....I think time will tell what the numbers really are....there is plenty of stock of DX Fockers out there...and the DX -1D stayed open for a heck of a long time.....could be we have reached saturation point and if someone really wants a DX Focker today or wanted a -1D, they definitely have/had the chance to get one...whether they were in Japan or not

My thrashin' days are long gone, but with a possible coming of a new onslaught of Macoss/Robotech....a Macross/Robotech Skateboard might be of interest or make sense to the newer generation of fans that could be created...Obviously, it makes no sense to GenXers who grew up watching Robotech/Macross in the late 80's

What scale is the Megahouse SDF-1 again? 1/5000? 1/4000?

Based on the pic and 1982 BW copywrite...it currently looks like it will be a TV version..... Hoping it is a combo pack but maybe they are going the KitzConcept route.....either way PO madness may be upon us again!

The lack of the SDFM and DYRL logos on the official Japanese Twitter page says a lot..... BW may have decided to sacrifice these 2 to get the full, undisputed world-wide distribution and merch rights for all other shows and all future shows..... Personally, I would let Thanos do the snap on all these shows before letting go of the original Macross......guess I'm old (school)....

No idea...the only HG licensed "Macross" stuff I get recently are the products from KC which I feel are good...I also buy some of the Toynami items like the SDCC items from a couple of years ago.....If it is a quality product I would buy it regardless if it was or had a HG license.....does not bother me at all

Good to know they are still busy......unfortunately, not interested in anything other than Macross...hope they can move onto the Destroids and Enemy Mecha, but may not be their thing

Probably....as long as BW approves of the livery, canon or not, designs..... But new fans watching "Macross" SDFM for the first time will likely want a "Rick Hunter" or "Roy Focker" scheme for their "Macross Saga" VF-1.....let's not turn off the Macross uninitiated that quickly by introducing them to Macross 7, Macross Frontier, or especially Macross Delta too soon!

Huh? I was referring to what we get from the existing Japanese purveyors of these fine collectibles.......you insinuated that there was a problem with 40 year old designs...I responded by reminding you that Bandai just tweaked it yet again in the form of the DX VF-1 and we are all buying them up like it is TP during the height of an epidemic.......
