  1. It's official. Ol' Arnie is governer of California http://www.cinescape.com/0/editorial.asp?a...6&obj_id=39845# Strange to see all these action heros in politics
  2. This is old news. But it's sad nonetheless. As a big fan of Valve and the original Half-Life, I am pissed off that this is going to hurt one of my favorite gaming companies. They better still be able to release Half-Life 2. If not, this hacker will have done more damage than he already has.
  3. Very nice! I'm seeing red
  4. I sure hope HL2 comes on on it's current 2003 schedule. I am dying to play that game!
  5. ROFLMAO! :) Number one was definitely the best. "How bout some hot stuff big guy!" HAHAHAHAHAAA!
  6. Forcing myself to own a maximum of two or three Valkyries is a way to keep myself grounded. If I can limit myself to only a few Valkyries and stay there, I'll never be in danger of spending all my money getting each and every 1/48 Yammie Right now, selling my VF-1A and purchasing the VF-1J with FAST Packs does seem like the most wise option to get all I want. I think that's what I'll have to do.
  7. Thanks Graham. Looks like I better get a second set of FAST Packs after all. Or maybe sell one of my 1/48s and get the VF-1J with FAST Packs
  8. I like that way of thinking. Very much
  9. It's partly the look and part the length. The tv style hands do away with the wrists, so the actual length of the arm does shorten slightly. This will obviously make the arms look shorter. Also, the hands are much more properly proportioned to the size of the mecha itself, so the arms will look better. Remember, the 1/48 does have slightly thinner arms than the lineart, with this being compunded by the disproportionatly small, articulated hands. If the small thin hands are done away with, the whole arm will look slightly larger.
  10. Well, the hands may be the cheesy television series versions, but I do like them much better than the articulated hands currently plaguing the 1/48 cast. While I agree the DYRL? hands are far superior, I'll take these hands. The tv style hands are more properly proportioned and they do away with the wrists, which shortens the appearance of the arms. The improvement is very apparent IMO. I'll look into the fan market for those hands if I have to. I want them. Don't be shy with me if you are making hands, all you recasters out there!
  11. The next 1/48 Yamato VF-1J is going to include to sets of non-articulated, removable hands. These hands are sculpted to look as they appeared in the Macross television series. I beleive it was Yamato's response to the single biggest criticism of the 1/48. As far as I know (and beleive me I'm trying to find out) these hands will only be made available with the VF-1J. They may become available in the future seperately, but that's just wishful thinking at this point. Here is a comparison picture to look at:
  12. The fact that I have a life that doesn't include Macross exclusivley. Books, DVDs, games, clothes, my vehicle, restaraunts, clubbing, and particularly women all cost a lot of cash. Can't spend it all on Macross
  13. *looks at the long, boring, run-on post* Sheridan: "Well, he's definitely an Everquest player" Ivanova: "Yup!" B)
  14. I suppose that's something....just not enough.
  15. I currently own two 1/48 scale Yamato Valkyries (one VF-1A Hikaru and one VF-1S Roy) and I absolutely love them. I purchase one set of FAST Packs and I couldn't have hoped for a finer addition to the 1/48 Yamato series. However, I'm in somewhat of a predicament. I really don't have any desire to purchase any more Valkyries. What I do want very, VERY much is a set or two of those new hands featured on the VF-1J 1/48 Scale Yamato. I also very much want to have FAST Packs for both my 1/48 Valkyries. I'm curious to know what are my options. I'm holding out the hope that Yamato will decide to release different sets of hands with future FAST Pack sets, so I can wait until they do so to purchase my second FAST Packs set and obtain those hands. But I have no idea if Yamato would do such a thing. Is my only option to buy a VF-1J in order to obtain those hands? Basically, what plans do Yamato have for those hands. Yamato must know there's plenty of 1/48 owners that would be interested in those hand sets to feature on Valkyries they already own. But what can I do about it and what is Yamato planning...if anything? Graham? Others?
  16. No. I've already got a VF-1S in the 1/48 scale and I'm extremely happy with it. Although if Yamato doesn't offer those damn television series hands for the 1/48 scale Valkyrie, I might have to purchase a VF-1J just to get them. I won't be happy if that's my only option
  17. OMG that battroid picture looks fantastic! The 1/48 just keeps getting better and better.
  18. Hence continues the utter pointlessness of all these Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games. Whether it's Everquest, Star Wars Galaxies, or whatever, these games are so dull, so slow to progress, and so time consuming they cease to be fun long before you even get to a point where you realize there is no point. I can still recall my first experience with one of these games, that aptly maligned "Neverquest" (true name Everquest). My best friend was crazy over RPGs and wanted me to purchase Everquest as well so we could adventure together. I spent an entire Saturday over at his place just watching him play the game and playing the game myself, trying to decide if I wanted to take the plunge. I couldn't beleive what a stupidly turtle slow game it was with little if any reward for playing. I told him I coulnd't be any less interested in playing that crap. The time it takes me to just enjoy one game of that MMORPG, I could have played two to three truely FUN games. Having fun...what a concept! I'll pay for Homeworld 2, Half-Life 2, or Jedi Academy over these stupid MMORPGs and have a lot more fun playing them. If I ever want to play a deep RPG or strategy game, there's always Fallout or Master of Orion I and II.
  19. I loved Halo on my X-Box. So glad I got it with the system, especially since I was trying to buy an X-Box without any games at all. I wanted my X-Box exclusively for Soul Calibur 2. I found the control for Halo was actually really good. Granted, no gamepad can compare to the keyboard and mouse of any PC, but Halo worked way better with the S-controller than any other 3D shooter on any console system I've ever played. I doubt I'll get Halo for the PC. I'm really looking forward to Halo 2 as well as Half-Life 2. And I just purchased Jedi Academy and Homeworld 2 two weeks ago. Those two titles are soaking up all of the little game time I have
