This thing is SO FUGLY and tragically sad looking it's almost cute, like an old little blind dog with two teeth that you can't help but love (I should know, I have one) 😂

This shall SOON be on my bench when it's released and I can get my hands on it to complete the 1/144 trio of The BUFF, The Bone and this BAD BOY!

I've only got 3 1/6 Hot Toys figures, Vader ANH, Luke ROTJ, and the newest Vader ROTJ. I agree, they aren't perfect, BUT in the right lighting and pose, the new ROTJ Vader is definitely a great display piece! The pleather will crack and fade in time, but some of their newer stuff they are getting better with materials as well as the head sculpts are massively improving from the reviews I watch. I would love to get Baylon, but I'm OUT of display space. 6" Black Series figs will have to do! 😂

Damn, I hope they sell that Ep III Anakin and Obi Wan as regular releases! Those look great!
-
Yeeeeeh, I don't care, I AM going to see this NO MATTER WHAT the reviews say! 😂 Bring it on!

Ahhh yes, I remember that stage of this build for sure! (and the legs, and the feet, and the arms....)😆

Another very simple solution I've been using lately (especially on modern kits with VERY tight tolerances), use Tamiya Extra Thin cement to "soften" the peg and especially the receiving hole for a few seconds. Like old Dad told me one time ....."a little lubrication helps everything son" - He wasn't wrong....😂

@wm cheng - Agreed! It was perfect on Yamato's VF-11's.....😉

Early Sunday AM decal session yesterday with the Academy F-15E with my furry little helper....😺. So.....the very 1st "SJ" tail marking decal literally disintergrated upon application. I really DON'T like Cartograph decals...yeh there're nice and thin...to thin for my liking, and I've done a LOT of decals over the years. FYI, they DON'T like Micro-SOL! STEAR CLEAR! Micro Set is just fine once you lay them down, but Micro Sol on the surface = ruined decals! Anyway, after that everything went fine. Had to go online and track down an aftermarket sheet of Strike Eagle decals with that "SJ" tail marking out of Australia, so they'll be here eventually......Only about a million more microscopic stencil aircraft markings to go...

That's a KEEPER right there!!! 💕

@Papa Rat Man that little oldie turned out really nice!
Over here boring ordinance painting for the Strike Eagle 🦅 and Airwolf is coming right along! 😂

It's the newer Academy 1/72 release #12550 "333rd Fighter Squadron" Great kit. Newer mold, everything fits 99% perfect.
In other news over the weekend I wanted to start my 1/72 Academy AH-64D Apache just for doing the cockpit. I wanted to do 3D cockpit decals and pilots, so Quinta Studios had the 3D decal set and good old PJ Productions had actual AH-64 pilots, so with a little hacking off of feet and other lower bits....🤣 Here's the finished product....Might add a little silver dry brushing but other than that, that's about as much as I'm willing to put into it at 1/72 scale!

@pengbuzzSpace shuttle 🚀 looks great man! I'll get to mine someday that's in my stash. Meanwhile, darker gray on the Eagle 🦅 today. Much better.

@pengbuzz - Maaaan those sets of 1/2500 decals for the 7 Enterprises sure do trigger my PTSD! 😂
Thanks for sharing!

I find no airbrush lube works well, they all suck and my triggers kept sticking... UNTIL I found an old tiny little bottle of gun cleaning lube my dad had which I still use inside my handguns, one drop 💧 of THAT on all my triggers and ZERO stickiness anymore! 😁
In other news, I finally got to break in the new inside workbench and airbrush inside (Vallejo Model Air Only inside) 100% acrylic so no fumes) soooo nice to be able to spray small stuff in the AC! Especially in TX! 😁
Got the Strike Eagle 🦅 mottled and ready for big boy paint outside this weekend!

I'll share this quick story about customer service from my childhood which I will never forget...Huge GI Joe fan growing up in the 80's right? So for Christmas on year I wanted the new Cobra Rattler more than ANYTHING on earth, there were TV ads for it everywhere, it was in the toy catalogs of Service Merchandise and Toys R Us, but there were NONE to be found in stores...I was beside myself. Apparently so much so, my dear mother, may she rest in peace, wrote a strongly worded letter to the President of Hasbro expressing her displeasure with all of this.... A few weeks later a GIGANTIC box showed up on our doorstep with NOT one but TWO brand new Cobra Rattlers and a brand new FULL GI JOE HEADQUARTERS playset, I don't remember for sure, but I believe there was a note as well from the Hasbro President apologizing to my mother for the trouble... The power of the pen IS mighty!!! ..... Now THAT was some good old 80's customer service!!! Bandai could learn a thing or two...LOL

@Papa Rat Thanks! I'm SO stoked! That VF-1D looks like it just came off the assembly line!

I uncovered and uncluttered the paint bench this morning! Cleaned up and 99% ready to paint with my new NO NAME compressor! Just need an adapter for the hose I just don't happen to have 🤨 The kit stash under the bench is only temporary, until wife and I get the back room closets emptied out of boxes from the renovations. Stay tuned! ACTUAL modeling shall resume......... soooon..... ish... 🙄 😂
