1. The Starship Modeler website has some custom decal offerings for Macross kits: http://www.starshipmodeler.com/cfstore/ind...&Product_ID=557
2. Got mine today! It looks great! Nice boxing, Anthony. The decal sheet looks great, too!. Although I'm not sure where a lot of them go.
3. Being from California, that makes sense you would get it first. How fast we get it depends on how it was shipped (from Hong Kong, remember).
4. All that for $15.00? That would be too much to ask for. But, I too, wouldn't mind some advice from Modelbaseguy on how to finish it. What you have on display on your site looks great.
5. Ditto. I plan to use the same scheme for mine.
6. oof! I haven't checked for a while. You got an order coming up from me! This will look great for my Strike Fighter. As for Macross fans, I think it's pretty nichie and next time you try a Macross related product run, try it on a pre order basis with only a definite go once a base number of pre-orders has been reached. I for one am very gratefull that you were willing to make them at all. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought some one whould have bothered to make bases for this stuff! Keep the faith. E2046 is marketing a resin kit of the Regult battle pod so maybe once the word spreads of their availability there will be interest. Is there any way you can get to a Japanese distributor? They'd eat it up but I don't know what kind of copyright issues there would be. I'm part of a Macross Group Build over at the Fine Scale Models Magazine forum and I'll put a link there to the Macross bases page. Anyone else out there reading this, this could be your only chance to get something like this for your Valks!
7. Sorry, I did not realize there was a newbie thread. But where, in all of Macross media, was it first mentioned that they were gone?
8. ............'Rick' becuase I can't remember his Japanese name. Anyway, did they disappear whil she was commanding the SDF-2? And is that only from a backstory information or was it actually mentioned in a movie or series?
9. wow, the vf-19 has ugly stubby wings, gimme the yf-19 any day, but to each his own, for some reason i remebered the vf-19 having, larger wings tho, thos look really stubby 347244 Yeah the YF-19 and the VF-19A have nicer lines but I'd still like the 'stub winged' variant in a display next to the others. I think the back story is that the modified wings and removal of the canards was because the VF-19s for Macross 7 were seen as to be mostly used in space so no need for canards and big wings. Milia supposedly was in favor of the original design over this version.
10. Thanks, Ido, but someone at the Starship Modeler forum pointed me to the following link which happens to be part of this forum: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...ndpost&p=154745
11. Man, if you want a canon vf-19s that's a lot of mods, you could even recast it as your own garage kit. Maybe get a bandai 1/100 vf-19, it should help you. I could scan my bandai 1/100 directions but I have currently problems both with my connection and pc, sorry, PM me next week if you are still interested. 346851 While poking around the net, I came across images of a resin conversion kit that was made to be sold exclusively (I believe) at one of the Japanese Wonderfest shows. As for making a garage kit myself, I don't think I have the talent for that. I think the single biggest mod is the wings. There is some sort of 'cuff' that surounds the afterburners of the VF-19s F through S models but I didn't like the look of that and would probably leave it off my version anyway. Thanks for the offer for the instructions scan. Years ago I had the 1/100 kit but I was disapointed in the dimensions of it in fighter mode. But I think the paint guide's plan view would be perfect. So far this is the closest I have to figure out the wing dimensions:
12. I'd like to build one of my Hasegawa YF-19s as a Macross 7 VF-19 (the ones without canards and a modified wing). I have a few views of them at different angles but I'd like to get a top view just to get the wing dimensions right.
13. Oh, this is great! I can't wait to put my Battroid on it!
14. From what I've read in forums, the series is about Earth being invaded by aliens that 'materialize' in the atmosphere with attack aircraft and the defending Earthlings use super sophisticated fighter aircraft that poses an AI that is near sentient. I think part of the story's drama is a pilot trying not to loose his himself with his aircraft's (the Yukikaze) AI. That's the gest of what I get. Please, others feel free to correct me.
15. Looks great. If you accentuate the panels, don't go too crazy if the customer wants a clean bird. And it's gears up! Are you mounting it to a stand?
16. That wish will soon be granted 341990 Tease... 341998 hehe Details will be coming soon 342002 ..........................I'm gonna cry...............
17. The pressure is on, but I'm still iffy. How hard is this kit to get? I mean is this like the holy grail of Macross models? I'd love to get one... but I'll hold until I see the final production of what I'm getting. If Valk 009 can post the completed mold of what exactly I'm getting, then I'll put a definate order in. 341962 Spat, It's my Holy Grail of Macross (since I already have the 1/200 Monster ) and to give you an idea of it value, there is a resin kit on ebay right now for a VF-4 from a seller in the UK. Starting at 49 Pounds -or $89 US dollars - for a 1/100 kit! Really, this maybe the best chance of getting a VF-4 kit.
18. I can't let this pass by again. Please put me down for one. Now if we can just get someone to do a VF-11 Thunderbolt.................
19. Heck, EL just modify it. I was out of my mind with glee just to have it available at all and at a decent price, too. We all have our preferences in things but when it comes to getting a base for a model from a 20 year old anime series, it's amazing to be able to get anything.
20. LTSO, How did you bend the acrylic rod? I want to do the same for my base. Oops! Never mind. I just saw your Sept 11 post. But if you do read this, How long did it take for you to get that curvature?
21. I just dug out a 1/100 scale Macross factory kit. The one with two bay doors and came with an armored Valkyrie and a Tomahawk. I started it 20 years ago and think I'll strip it down and restart it. I had only built the Destroid and the Valk -both which had become damaged by my kids over the years. Now with a couple of newer 1/100 kits and the old ones I though I could try a diorama of a damaged Destroid in one bay and another being served in the other. I've got to take and post some images. Wasn't this kit originaly molded for another mecha series? Here's images from the MW models pages: http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/models...-1310-97box.jpg http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/models.../im1310-97f.jpg
22. $40.00 !!!!!!!??????? The most I've seen it go for on Ebay is $15.00! I suppose if you want it bad enough it's worth it but I'd keep searching ebay.
23. If all else fails, keep an active search going on ebay to e-mail you a notification when it finds matches for 'Southern Cross' under 'Model Kits'. I've seen it come up from time to time again.
