  1. MSV stands for Mobile Suit Variation. Graham
  2. I saw the Hikaru VF-1J Super at Animate, but not at Kanto. Graham
  3. Just came back from Mong Kok and no Max VF-1J yet at either Kanto Hobby or Animate Graham
  4. I'll see if I can get down to Kanto Hobby and Animate in Mong Kok during my lunch break to see if Max is out yet. Graham
  5. This book has line art of those FAST packs showing them in both open and closed configuration. The front part hinges open to reveal the missiles, much like the shoulder armor of the GBP-1S armor. I'll see if I can remember to scan the pic when I get home tonight. Graham
  6. Ouch.......................that's pretty yucky box art compared to the original. Thanks for the pic tho. Graham
  7. I've heard rumors of an Academy VF-2SS for a long time, but I've never actually seen one. Can you post photos of the box and the kit? Graham

    Custom Hikaru VF-1S

Outstanding work as always Kurt. I'll get this up in the MW toy gallery as soon as I have time. Graham
  9. This is way cool. Gotta add it to the MW custom toy gallery. Graham
  10. Great job, I'll get these added to the MW custom toy gallery within the next few days (schedule allowing). Graham
  11. Just like Shawn, it was originally the model kits that drew me into Macross (even though I'm not really a model builder). Back in 1982 or 1983, I was living in UK and the Imai and Arii Macross models were being imported into UK and fairly widely available in most model shops (at least in the area I lived). As soon as I saw the box art, I was blown away by the designs and had to start buying as many of these kits as possible (not easy when my pocket money was something like 50p a week). From the time I'd spent in HK during 1976 to 1979, I realised that these models must be from a Japanese cartoon (I hadn't even heard of the term 'anime' back then) and I so loved the designs, that as corny as it sounds, I promised myself that one day I would find a way to watch the cartoon that these lovely model kits were from. Fast forward to 1986, I'm back in Hong Kong and manage to catch an episode on Macross on TV, which starts to renew my interest in the show. However, it was not until 1987 when I saw DYRL on Laser Disc that I really got into Macross and began my obsession with the show and especially the toys. It's now 2004 and Macross is one of the main loves of my life. Macross and it's sequels are my all time favorite animes and I've spent an insane amount of money over the past 17 years, tracking down and buying Macross toys, CDs, books, games and other miscellaneous Macross junk Although I love all aspects of Macross, it's probably the mechanical designs and mecha combat that attract me the most. Graham
  12. I believe I read something about that before. Knowing Lucas, it's a sure thing once all the planned "seasons" are aired. Probably this winter or next spring before Ep. 3 hits theaters. Or maybe we'll have to wait 20 years for a remastered 'special edition'. Graham
  13. I'm pretty much sick and tired of Gundam. I've been burnt out on it for a long, long time. The last Gundam anime I really enjoyed was 08MST. I did try to get into SEED, honestly I did, but it just didn't work for me. However, I have to say that IMO the Astray designs are the nicest MS design to appear in a long time. I'd definitely be willing to give an Astray anime a try. Heck, I'm even considering buying the red and blue Astray MSiA toys, which are due out in May and I swore off buying MSiA toys a year or more ago. Still hoping one day for a high quality Gunadam Sentinel OVA tho! Graham
  14. Interesting news. Original BGC is one of my favorite animes besides Macross. Graham
  15. Anybody know if there have been any plans announced yet to release these on DVD? Graham
  16. You sadists! Isn't this against the Geneva convention or something? All this talk of putting military pilots in boiling water or using micro-torches on them, you better be prepared to face the war crimes tribunal. Graham
  17. I wish! But no, sadly I live in a tiny little house in Tai Po. Graham
  18. You'd bet your house on it eh? Is it a nice house? Does it have a sea view or a swimming pool? How many bedrooms does it have? I'm looking to upgrade to a bigger house. Graham
  19. David, actually, I managed to take down Pierre using the A-10 and did it very easily as well. Almost as soon as I got to the city I saw Pierre and took him out almost at once with a salvo of rockets and a burst from the cannon. As the A-10 turns better than most other planes, it was easy to out-turn Pierre and walk my cannon fire and rockets into him. Graham
  20. When I say the feet in that pic are from some ugly samurai looking robot I MEAN the feet are of some ugly fricken samurai robot!!!!! : Sheesh! Does my word mean nothing anymore? For all you unbelievers, here's the full page pic from Hobby Japan. The reason I didn't scan the whole page originally, is because nothing else on it is Macross related and this is still Macrossworld, at least last time I checked! I really don't know why I bother sometimes. As for the VB-6...NO COMMENT. Graham
  21. Arghhhh....guys need help. Somebody please tell me what the heck you are supposed to do in the mission 'Hyper Speed Rick' (the recon mission)? At the start of the mission, you are told to fly straight forward, so I fly forward over the first of the enemy bases (shown as yellow dots on the mini-map). After flying over the first of the bases, red dots (which usually designate primary targets) appear on the mini-map. I know you are not supposed to destroy any targets as this is explained in the briefing and your back-seater Harry, tells you off if you fire at anything and anyway the YF-12(?) only has 4 missiles. So I figure being a recon mission, the idea is to fly over all the enemy bases (all the target dots on the mini-map), so I do this several times unitil I run out of time and I still get mission failed. What do I need to do to complete this mission? Getting very frustrated !!!!!! Graham
  22. For those of you who are interested, the image actually originates from these books. The books also feature a similar cutaway drawing of the VF-1S Battroid and the Destroid Spartan as well. Graham
  23. Just hope they have the Eurofighter Typhoon and Tornado as they did in AC4. Hey, I'm British, so I prefer flying British planes! A Sea Harrier would be nice as well, but Namco seem to have something against Harriers And just for once, it would be nice if the A-10's 30mm Avenger cannon had more power, range and a different firing noise to all the other guns. I'm so glad AFDS got that correct. Graham
  24. The opening song of Combattler V. Graham
  25. Heh, if it was up to me and I was the CEO of Bandai, I would stop making Gundam products and concentrate on making MG, & PG Macross models and kickass Macross toys. Personally, I can't stand 99% of most Mobile Suit designs. Graham
