A few questions for those that have ACE 3 already: - 1) Can you freely transform between Battroid, Gerwalk and Fighter at anytime in the game? 2) Do you have a chance to fight against Gundams? I wanna blow up those silly looking Gundams with my VFs. 3) Is there a two-player, split-screen versus mode? 4) Can you fire missiles in all modes, or only in Fighter and Gerwalk like some of the other Macross games? Hmm.....despite saying I wasn't going to get one, I might see if I can pick one up today just for the hell of it (I need a toy fix), at the same time while I'm out looking for A.C.E. 3 Graham

Macross 25th Anniversary and upcoming new TV series thread
Graham replied to azrael's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Yeah, I can't see this airing this year. I hope we get to see the promo movie and some lineart of the mecha soon. The suspense is killing me. Still, I'd rather they take their time and get it right and not rush things. I don't want to see a recap episode every 4 weeks like certain other shows. Graham -
Will get at least 2 of the YF-19, but only one of the VF-1S. I absolutely love the 25th YF-19. Graham

Haven't been keeping track of this thread. I'll try to pick up this tomorrow, especially if you can use only Macross units from mission 4 onwards. No interest in playing Gundams, only destroying them. I wish From Software would just make a Macross game for the PS2. Graham

Don't worry about the Battroid CAD art. In real life, it looks awesome. We had the same thing with the VF-0 and YF-19 CAD art making the toys look chunkier than they actually are. Plus that posted CAD art opic has definitely been stretched horizontally. Graham

Sorry, so busy the last few weeks. Haven't been able to spend much time on MW. Anyway, I've just emailed Yamato to inform them of the color issue with Nora's missile pods. The framework for the review is done, as are the photos. Actually, I'm mostly using Swooshes photos for the review (with his agreement), as they are so good. I'll try to get the review text finished at the coming weekend. The video will take a bit longer as I want to get more comfortable with transforming the toy first before I do the video. Graham

I've said it before and I'll say it again. That YF-19 looks gorgeous. Still not sold on the VF-1 yet though. Graham

Pretty cool video. Looking forward to seeing more. How about a Macross Plus or Macross Zero movie in the future as well? Graham

Sub all the way. 99.9% of dubs in my experience have terrible voice acting that really grates. I've never had a problem with being able to read the subs and watch the picture at the same time. If I really want to see something in detail (like fast-paced mecha fights or transformation sequences), I'll freeze frame or watch it in slow motion, but I do this irrespective of whether the anime is subbed or dubbed anyway. I'm at about 15 transformations so far and although the main wing hinges do have stress marks, they haven't gotten any worse so far. Graham

Went to the Asian Aerospace 2007 Expo in HK yesterday. No military planes there, but I did get to see the Airbus A380 up close, although I didn't get to go inside , as only VIPs invited by Airbus were allowed on board. Here's a few pics. I'm in the first one. Graham

Eh? The gunpod points straight ahead with a clear unobstructed line of fire. How the heck do you have it pointing at the cockpit? Graham

I think I have a larger image of that pic in my (rare-ish) Movic M7 book IIRC. I'll check when I get home tonight. Graham

I agree, Mari is the far cuter of the two. Graham -

Finally, after 13 years, some line art of the YF-19's arm weapon! One of the Holy Grails found at last! Graham -
1/48!? 1/48 is a dead scale except for the occasional reissue or repaint. Trust me, there is no chance in seeing a VF-4 & vF-11B in 1/48 scale. Graham

Battlestar Galactica Discussion

I voted for the 'B' cover, although I thought they were all pretty meh, especially C. Can't wait to see Razor. Anybody know when the season 3 DVD box set is going to be released? Graham -
The YF-21 will definitely be out next year, hopefully in the first quarter. Thee will be some other new designs coming as well. Graham

I do that, it's easy. Graham

Starting writing the review today. Graham

Looks like my wing hinges are fine. I can't notice any differences in the left and right wings when they are folded. Graham

sounds like a plan. Graham

Eh, who? Graham

Transformed my SV-51 to Gerwalk mode again last night and then to Battroid mode for the first time. There’s lots of folding going on in the torso, but it’s not as complex or as difficult as I expected. I still haven’t quite wrapped my mind around the transformation process well enough to film a video yet, (i.e. I can’t do it blindfolded in under a minute yet, like I can with a 1/48, but I’m getting there!) Not sure if my SV-51 has the wrong wing hinge issue in Battroid mode, as both wings look the same to me when folded. I will check more carefully when I get home tonight. Although my number of transformations has been pretty small, I’m so far very happy with this toy. No stress marks observed, nothing broken, it stands by itself in Battroid and Gerwalk, the joints seem pretty tight (nice ratchets in the elbows and knees) and it looks absolutely stunning in all three modes, but especially fighter. The only minor issue I’ve observed and that Swoosh also commented on, is that some of the missile pods do fall off pretty easily if bumped, but I can live with that. I’m not going to start screaming about being gang-raped by Yamato! Graham
