Final Cut is gorgeous, the fixes aren't noticible except for the fact that certain things don't look bad anymore. Its more seamless. I still don't like the Unicorn vision and the glowy eyes on Deckard. The story doesn't work if he's a Replicant, I don't care what Ridley Scott says. Harrison Ford maintains Deckards humanity. Dangerous Days is fantastic, and clocks in at nearly 4 hours. The good, the bad, and the ugly, its all there. Honestly, they could have made it twice its length, and it probably would have been worth it. Better than Hearts of Darkness? You decide. Deleted scenes are... interesting. A TON of new voiceover that cuts out large segments of dialog. It really seemed like there was a version of BR that might have been put out, with these voice overs, that clocked in at 90 minutes. You'll see when you watch these deleted scenes. Workprint is up next, then the commentaries.

Battlestar Galactica Discussion
Duke Togo replied to HoveringCheesecake's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Found this amusing. In the new Blade Runner DVD set, in one of the featurettes, Edward James Olmos is talking about whether Deckard is a "Cylon" or not, chuckles, then corrects himself (he meant Replicant). -
This will most likely improve sales, instead of hurt them. I don't quite approve of translating "Who the hell do you think I am?!" and "The Gurren Brigade" as "Who do you think I am?!" and "Team Gurren". They may as well edit out Kamina while they are at it...

Ok, mine is here, going to watch now.

Guest director, I see!

Uh, Tyrel isn't Japanese...

This probably has more to do with the copy you were watching and what you were watching it on.

Its like A1 not liking Gurren Lagann... for the life of me I don't get it, and I just have to accept there are some things in life I'll never understand. All I can hope for is that someday this film will click for you.

So I've decided to rewatch Gurren Lagann, and along comes episode 4 and well, did we ever find out just WTF was going on with the animation and art there? I remember the mess that happened because of it, but was it ever explained why they just, well... make it look like crap?

Maybe the most respected science fiction movie ever made. Most of the anime we all watch was heavily influenced by it.

The Holy Grail of DVD released, for sure. Alot of people have been waiting for this for a very long time.

I'm getting the case, standard DVD. I'm not sold on HD or Blu yet, they seem like Laserdisc to me. Should be shipping tomorrow from Amazon, but they have a habit of shipping stuff ahead of time (and not telling you), and you get your ship notice (and package) on the release date.

But that doesn't work. If it were a "civil servant job", they'd still be working for the UNS. And when has service in the UNS ever been anything but volunteer? I've never seen any mention of drafting in Macross, even during Space War I. And we may have seen atleast two different groups so far, the "SMS" and "S". I'm going with private military contractors until I hear otherwise. I guess we shall see.
