  1. Guys if we don't allow you to post certain images here that also can include giving detailed instructions of how to find it as well.

I thought on several occasions that it was decided by other moderators that NSFW tags were enough and direct links could be posted as long as not embeded or attached.

  2. Manifest Destiny was more the idea that the US should bring Democracy to all the world, forcefully if need be.

No James, you are confusing it with Pax Americana

Manifest Destiny in it's original and main usage was a term for exploring America's west and settling on the new frontier.

  3. Matchbox Robotech stuff is cheap. Generally why they may also be rare, there is less demand because a lot of the toys sucked. Battlepod prices went down when more people went for the cheaper Exo-squad versions instead.

I traded all my Exo-squad Robotech for MASK toys instead.

The Matchbox SDF1 is cool even though it's missing so many features of the Takatoku...but I think I paid $80 for my boxed one and I applied the stickers myself. I added an extra few as well to cover the holes at the top for the missile launcher which I thought looked stupid. The Daedalus and Prometheus are in sorry need for some detail though.

I would kill for a good sized DYRL SDF-1, not the small one released a while ago that claimed diecast but hardly had any metal and was uber expensive.

  4. @ComicKaze - Dude, if I ever see one again at retail, I'll scoop it up for you and send you a PM. Won't charge more than retail + shipping mate.

That'd be amazing. Thanks Buddy. There isn't even a GI JOE section in Toys R Us here and Hasbro said that Wal-Mart Canada isn't allowed to import U.S. figures anymore.

  5. ok guys....i'm not a mod but please stop calling each other names or trying to prove who is smarter than the other. Can't we all be civil adults?

I'm usually absolutely 100% civil and will even bend over backwards for people but Westlo's whole "get a clue" addition was totally uncalled for.

Until I discover a good compromise term for how to decribe the 2D animation in Macross Frontier, I will call it CG as that's what it is called in the anime industry and Macross Frontier is an anime.

Irregardless, this is basically what has driven me from anime almost completely. I'm only tuning into Macross Frontier because of it's Macross Connections but the art in anime post 1998 era has all been such that I can't watch anime anymore because of the heavy use of computers.

  6. The character art in this episode is about as good as I've seen it in this series. There definitely is a budget crunched Evangelion feel to this episode, though, lots of still shots, or moving shots over backgrounds.

Dude what are you smoking? :)

This episode was on par with some of the worse episodes. Whoever this agency is, they can't draw facial proportions or even fluid movement if their lives depended on it. The next episode's preview looks like a return to Episode 5 (Star Date's) animation quality which was much better.

  7. No that's called digital painting, you don't call hand drawn and animated stuff cg, get a clue please.

Get outside if your western lexicon bubble...That's the term I have come across in Japanese artbooks and games. (Yes bishoujo stuff), it's CG sets, etc.

This is a Japanese misuse of the term but it is still relatively the most popular term for these circumstances. I hate how people abbreviated CGI to CG over here as well. Of course I know the difference but you know how the Japanese mangle terms or come up with their own combinations.

Of course I know the difference and I hate how CGI is shortened to CG all the time when speaking of actual rendered 3D.

  8. Dude, don't even bother trying to discuss this "CG issue" with them in any rational way. The more I hear bitching about it, the more I realize how little they actually understand. Around these parts, CG (and can you even call computer painting of hand drawn cells "CG"? ) has become a shorthand on these board for some of the laziest yet most vitriolic bitching and moaning this side of the internet.

CG is 2D art that has been colored or enhanced by computer. It's the proper term in Japan for any anime, games, art, etc. done like that.

  9. Had the Macross fallen in 1999 then the World`s media outlets would suddenly be very interested in an old Japanese cartoon that predicted the whole thing.

had the Macross fallen in 1999, I'd sell all my posessions and move to South Ataria Island...either that or dig a really deep hole and stock a shelter for what I knew was going to happen in the next year.

  10. Just regular DVD players.

Normally, I'll watch Frontier on my work laptop, which can handle .MKV, .AVI & .MP4 files with ease, just it's a pain carrying it home everyday, so I like to have the eps on a DVD to watch on my standalone DVD players, so I can watch them when I don't bring my work laptop home.

I'm usually rewatching one episode at least of Frontier every night.

    Graham

There are a lot of el-cheapo chinese players now (as well as big name ones) that will play AVIs and MKVs. It saves you a lot of trouble, I just burn to a DVD-RW. Usually I prefer to watch at the computer anyway. I was never a fan of watching TV on a couch.
