  1. Unless this love triangle has a strong swing back to Sheryl in Episode 15, I imagine the next time I post this poll, we should be seeing some better numbers for Ranka. Unless, my girl takes this turn of events rather poorly, I imagine I'll be sticking with her to the end though. :)

Well, this is the time for Alto and Ranka to be along as Macross always isolates the characters that get together for some alone time that separates the triangle.

  2. The SDF-1 has always had an air of mystery about it, it's strange origins, how the fold boosters disappeared on the first flight.

My theory is that they returend and some strange fold dislocation happened to the Macross on Macross city causing the SDF-1 to fold itself across the Galaxy. Possibly driven by the clandestine forces behind everything including some proto-culture elements with NUNs and whatever power those crystals have.

Oh yeah, like everybody predicted, this is the time for Alto and Ranka to get together as typical of Macross (Minmey and Hikaru trapped in SDF-1 interior, Hikaru then trapped with Misa as POWs in the TV series, Hikaru and Misa trapped on protoculture ruins of earth in DYRL).

  3. I think Kawamori appreciates Macross II for what it is and also likes the mechanical designs and music in it. It's pretty much Studio Nue and the money involved in the big liscensing and franchise issues that wants to distance itself.

And also elitist Macross purists who are dumb. :)

In Macross II, NUNS as seen seems to be shown as a government owned propaganda/media wing. New or Neo UN Spacy probably exists there. Also, they are using the Neo UN SPACY kite in Macross II which has the break moved to the right or else has it's axis tipped 90 degrees and the break rotated also.

  4. Dance energy is just kinetic energy - kinetic energy generated by a person's movements. This is nothing new. Those with automatic watches work on dance energy.

Real anima spiritia would probably more more tied to endorphins and seratonin and adrenaline in the brain.

  5. It equals all the cool stuff though!

Some of us could care less about otaku theories of transformation intricacies, possible physics explanations, or the positioning of screens or how comfortable cockpit chairs are. It's all fictional and pretty absurd anyway to try to constitute this stuff into reality. Maybe I'll change my mind when one of you can tell me how Michel makes his Battroid emote like a teasing schoolboy.

I'd rather talk about story, music, and characters.

And this despite being a mecha-head.

  6. Spt Layzner got put on hiatus due to time constraints and technical difficulties. Episode 7 was finished about 7 months ago but a problem with hard drive meant it got deleted. :(

I've tried to pass on Spt Laynzer on to other groups but no one wants it. I'll try to get the project started up again, I did promise the animsuki crowd I would. Probaly be over the summer.

Oh cool, are you directly related to the animeclassics blog or the projects they have? Thanks so much for introducing that site to me. I've downloaded everything on that site in the past few days. Hopeing I can get the KOR Jump Special now but I can't seem to connect to any seeds.

These animes made me smile more than I have in a very long time. Just pure feelings of joy watching Campus Special Investigator Hikaruon and Del Power X.

  7. Just watched Zero for the first time. Downloaded years ago but never bothered until the new episode of Frontier was going to feature the "Macross Zero Play". Can somebody please explain to me what Professor Halford's plan was?

I didn't see him as that apocalyptic, he wanted to awaken the Birdman for another reason didn't he? He said to end the confusion? Or was he trying to destroy human civilization and it's warlike tendancies in the first place? What was his motivation?

  8. Sigh, I know Abomination is a classic Hulk villain but...

Don't you think the regular movie going audiences are getting tired of superheroes having nothing to fight but a sort of "evil version" of themselves? Iron Man vs. Iron Monger, Hulk vs. Abomination, etc.

  9. Stagelights flashing...The feeling's smashing....

Iron Man and the Hulk are the first films produced directly by Marvel's film company and then distributed through the normal channels. These movies are pretty much made completely and directly from Marvel. Amazing that 10 years ago, this company was totally bankrupt.
