  1. Okay! Had some time today to take some better pictures, this time with my usual photo-taking set up. A couple of YF-21 ones: ... and finally, I think this picture turned out awesome. (^.^) Full body ver.
  2. After years of waiting, I finally have a YF-19 in my possession!!! Took a couple of quick shots of Battroid mode, hope you guys like them. Really want to take the YF-19 and YF-21 side by side, but I lost the darn connector piece for the YF-21's stand.
  3. Gah, I curse you sales!!! Already spend hundreds of bucks on stuff for myself, family and friends, but then this sale came along. But the bullet and bought the YF-19, Fold Booster set and a couple of GNU Figures... (T.T)
  4. You mean to say that we can finally get the VF-19 Kai in an awesome kneeling pose?!!
  5. Just managed to obtain my very first 1/60 VF-1S. It's the Roy Focker TV version and I have to say I'm thoroughly impressed.
  6. It also includes the Fold Booster as well.
  7. Hm, could you elaborate on what the specific bugs that have been removed are?
  8. Yeah, but evidently, it's tighter...
  9. After seeing videos of this game, it is definitely looking really sweet. Though I really wish that the full game would also include all the VFs from all the other series. Kinda like Macross Ultimate Frontier, only with a huge graphical boost.
  10. I am really curious to find out about the quality of Yamato's reissuing of the 1/60 YF-19. With the first few runs of the original YF-19, we've had loose joints, crooked gunpods, stress marks and (possibly?) broken pieces. From what I have gathered, the recent repaints of the YF-19 (Double Nuts, etc...) were all far better in quality than the original. Which leads me to my question. Are there any improvements with the Package Renewal version of the YF-19? I've heard of the possibility of a re-tooled YF-19 being released a couple of years down the road, so I was wondering if I should spring for the Package Renewal version or hold out.
  11. Woah!!! Inner mechanical detail and Reaction Missiles? *Pre-orders*
  12. I myself have transformed my VF-19 Kai numerous times as well, however the only part that truly became loose was the wings/skirt armor in Battroid mode. Other than some paint scratches here and there, mine is holding up pretty okay.
  13. Man, I would be really disappointed if the Plus Valks don't make it into the Hi-Metal line. I do have the 1/60 toys, but as I said before, I have always seen them as more of display pieces than actual toys, especially with the super floppy YF-19. Plus is, and will always be, my favorite Macross series and it would be a dream come true to have actual transformable, playable and poseable figures that are of a manageable size. And as mentioned above, especially with the YF-19 and 21, there designs are more small-size friendly and don't require much part-swapping. Out of curiosity, does anyone know how well the Hi-Metal line is selling? From what I've seen, the line seems to be very well received all round. Oh, just as a side note, other than eBay, is there any other store that still offers the VF-1J Hi-Metal? I'm in dire need of one that is not at a blown up price.
  14. Darn, suddenly decided to get this figure, but it seems to be sold out everywhere...
  15. I think this should be moved to the already existing SD Infinity thread.

I really can't wait for mine to arrive! Would do a video review ASAP, but sadly, am having them shipped together with the rest of my orders from AmiAmi later this month. Interestingly enough, in two of the three reviews posted, the reviewer forgot to pull the crotch piece out completely, leaving it in the cockpit. I know that this is wishful thinking, but I really want a SD Infinity YF-21 and YF-19~
  17. Bigger embedded pictures from Ngee Khiong detailing the figure's transformation, step by step.
  18. It so strange to see so few Mecha related pictures of the stuff at Wonderfest. I'm really bugged by the gap in the chest. Hopefully, it will be able to sit flush with the nose cone.
  19. Don't know whether we need a separate topic for this, but... Yes, the VF Hi-Metal VF-1S Valkyrie with Strike Parts - November release, 6,500 Yen
  20. Not sure if it has been mentioned here before, but JetDaisuke, one of my favorite Tokyo Video Bloggers has done a 'review' of the Hi-Metal VF-1J. In summary, he says that while the 1/48 and 1/60 VF-1 Yamatos are great, it is pretty amazing that they were able to make one that is so good for this scale. A definite Must Buy for fans of the original TV series and those who owned the old takato toys. Also, did anyone notice the different kinds of hands that were included? Rounded versus angular? Interestingly enough, his copy also had the loose left wing... Manufacturing error? Really, the passion and love for the toy really shines through in the video, a true Macross Fan! (^o^) A clear difference in attitude when he was reviewing the transformable Revoltech version. (^.^
  21. So, is anyone getting this at all? While I can understand the felling of not wanting to get another VF-1 toy, I can't help but feel that this toy isn't getting as much love as it should.
  22. Out of curiosity, why do so many Macross Collectors say things like "I like my 1/60, so I will skip (so and so)". Is it not possible to buy and appreciate both? One for play one for display (or even to hold you over till the 1/60 gets released)? (^.^ Even if you take funding into consideration, I doubt that the Hi-METAL line will put a huge dent in our pockets.

Just chiming in on why I spend money on pieces of pretty plastic. Many figure collectors base their collections on a figure’s details, sculpt, paintjob and overall appeal. However, my passion for figure collecting stems from my love of Anime, and the intriguing stories and memorable characters that Anime offers. A figure is meant to be a real physical representation of a 2D character and it is supposed to capture the character’s essence. When I acquire a figure of a character I like, I can appreciate the significance of the figure more. I also collect to show my support for a particular series that I like. As for mecha, I would suppose that like many of the 'newer generation' of otakus, I don't appreciate the actual design nuances of mecha, but am instead more concerned with the role of the mecha in the story and their pilots.

"Has its own unique design to realize the triple mode transformation gimmick. Die-cast parts are used to provide balance to the figure."
  25. Sweet, all the stripes are painted in. (^.^) Wonder what that Mylene figure in the corner is...
