I would say the problem is that you are thinning the Flat paint too much...may be should mix it with black or use royal blue on the mix...

Best way to go is to paint a part you aren't go to see like the inside of 2 pre gluying pieces and see the results before hand.

The Queal-Q ( 1/720 scale ) is a relatively easy to build kit. Few pieces and straight forward instructions. Keep an eye on the side-transversal seam line you'll get when building it; it will need a lot of putty.

I must admit that I felt a little disappointed when I opened the box. Bandai kits are sooo toy-ish...

So I did some scratch-build and... Voila; . It does not transform, but I think it looks much more cooler than the original one.

I remember a while ago (some time in summer) a guy put 3 auctions. a 1/72 club-M VF-11; YF-19 and YF-21 with a BIN of around $110 or less each. I miss the VF-11, I remember it only lasted about 10 minutes on e-bay but the other did last several hours since some "idiots" wanted to pay less than the BIN price..

Anyhow;I e-mailed the seller letting him know he "really" screwed up on the prices and that he would have got more money out of a 2 days sell with no reserve. He told me he just "wanted to have the sell fast.."and that it didn't matter; a couple of hours later I saw the price jacked up and relisted with at least $50 over the original bidding price....

Holy cow !! that toy cost as much as a VF 1/48

BTW One of most surprising well done animation movies of the decade...

I loved it..

may be the animation is not as "great" as ' The Spirits Between' but it might be more of what fan were expenting when it comes to see a real FF movie...

Make that a 5 for me..I can't ask for more...

About whether aerodinamics can make a VF-1 lift off the ground or not I can only say this...:

- A rocket doesn't have big wings just a lot of extra mighty trusting power and it can fly quite fast and evade other objets in the air.

-Although the VF-1 doesn't have vertical stabilizers the "V" stabilizers are variable and may be it uses it vertically for take offs but once in the air with help of the trusters it regains "balance" (or whatever)

-Besides since it uses anime magic it may be morphs a bit and becomes smaller after take off..

Just my non-aeronautical-lack-of-engineering-knowledge 2 centipedes...

it somes alot of the stuff on that japanese site is over weathered, like his fighter mode vf-1j and the alpha, they definitely look nice, but too much weathering makes em look fake, i love how wm cheng's stuff always looks photorealistic

1st- I believe they have a hint of metallic mix to the paint which makes them look more like toys than models. Is missing battle or/and age weathering...

2nd- the biggest eye-sore there is that the color's hue are too basic, the white is "really" white the blue is "too" blue, etc so the contrasts are too strong.

3rd- some models have too much gloss finish on them

4th- except for that X-29 and the first Hikaru VF-1 which to me look weather perfect.

5th- this guy sold some of his models on e-bay for about $200+ about a couple of months. I think he's currently selling a Max and Millia VF-J versions

If that's the best diorama ever then I guess you aren't too hard to please...

I been watching the series lately I am on the disk 2, first 9 chapter and I have to say is a neat rollercoaster ride.

I was pretty confused at the begining with the Jupiter base / time shift stuff but as the chapters go by things start to clear out. The subreal visions and complexity of animation effects are the best part; the plot is complex, intriguing and suspenfull, slightly slow paced and so far the main dude always wins a battle A-LA mazinhgaaa!!! but the music specially at the start credit has become one of my favorites.

I feel the difference between 'Rax' and 'Evas' characters is that in Eva the girls are too 'mature', introvert and conspicuos as in Rax that are more naive, carefree but deep.

Not wanting to add more to the flame but this comes to my mind:

- Why if anyone that is on his right mind keeps on trying to get more of the negative attention?

- 2 wrong things never make one right. Even less 3 or 4 or more. Trying to get out of being incriminated about something more than once doesn't help either.

-If I am being controversial over and over and being incresingly hated, why do I keep on coming back for more? isn't that like beating a dead horse?

-To vouch in Arafat's favor, I'll say I have done bussiness with him once and It has come out right. But I would regret the last Forum incident specially when I am supposed to be a seller with some experience. I'd be more carefull in the future and apologize intead of fighting it. BUT IMO trying to outsmart my potential (honest) buyers is really not smart....

Like I stated before I have the recast of the retpuu one(or maybe clum-M since I have the boosters and fast packs) but I like to have the rockets and missiles along with it...

..but most importanly what i really want is the canopy. My ferrets got a paw on the kit and I can't find it...may be valkyrie can do that one.
