  1. Thanks. I was late to the preorder game and bought it a day later at HLJ. I've bought from Maschinen Krieger Sentinel from them that had defects before, and they were good about replacement parts, so I thought they'd deal with it. No. Their service isn't like before. HLJ said "this falls within range of quality variation according to the manufacturer and so we cannot provide a replacement. Yup, the right one was crooked when it came out of the box. It is tight, unlike the left which rotates easily. I gingerly rotated it, so it's not from excessive force, supporting the weight of parts it carries. I also transformed my Stick first before attempting Yellow. that's bad. It's like Yammie v2 Same question for all transforming joints. For a pricey toy, it shouldn't be broken out of the box. It's awesome that I can order it a day or two after preorder day, but defects like this shouldn't have passed quality assurance. Sentinel should offer replacements like Figma did for the messy paint on the Berserk sword. Shucks. Yellow is my favorite of all the ride armors. From centerpiece to expensive brick.
  2. Crap. Mine has a white stress mark on one of the transforming joints out of the box. Is it going to break? Some of my other toys that have these marks get brittle and break eventually.
  3. Yes, multiple Roys so we can get the toy at MSRP. That cel shaded Max really breaks up the plain white. nice mod
  4. Looks like the bottom half is from the 1/60 yammie, and the top half is from the 1/48 yammie. Nice comparison pic @jenius
  5. I'm keeping mine. My yammie still transforms ok and isn't loose. It's swing bar is the best part over the DX. The DX is almost perfect transformation, but since the swingbar separates (moreso to manage the weight of the legs, than to allow for the torso twist) on its own when transforming after a few times, and it's made of plastic, not sure about its long term sturdiness. I also like the pilot more in the yammie. Question is, will the DX last 10 years, since the swing bar is two pieces, and one piece is plastic? The heavy legs put stress on the connector. The old yammie was light, so the connector is still working. If the 1s was in yellow, that'd be the team. Nice pic @Saburo
  6. @sh9000 with your fleet, and it's current layout, levitating that'd be so cool

https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10589490 hobby search 24200 Yen for Chuck
  8. Photos? Is it repair job? The old yammies and arcadia are pretty light, those might work better than the dx, the dx might be too heavy. Let us know if it works, post photos!
  9. That is the size that would fit my collection too. We have similar items hehe @sqiddthat was nice of you. Someone took my stuff
  10. Thanks @sqidd Shoulder popping off was also on the Stick and Rey. If you don't transform it now, and you transform it months down the road, and it's defective, you'd have a hard time complaining about it to the seller.
  11. Wow! great suggestion @Grey728
  12. @sqidd no kidding that's quite the display case. I've been using those IKEA displays. Quite a step up! @Grey728Moducases seem interesting, but are they expandable? Some toys in my collection are quite large, had to remove a shelf to fit them in the IKEA case.
  13. Thanks for update @jenius, was also waiting for your vid. Time to crack open Yellow. I'll watch your old video. Are the only differences the forearms and the chest missiles, in terms of transformation?
  14. @sqidd nice pics. What display shelf are you using?
  15. That HMR pilot looks good in the valk Yup MiB>MISB defect
  16. This Until it happens to you. jk. I see what you did there ha ha Yup, NY doesn't operate like most of the Japanese co's we frequent here The old Yammie boxes had window boxes with lids so you could display the inside the box without a display case. I liked those box layouts and Bandai only did it for the original Hi Metal valks. Also collector friendly for collectors who like to keep MIB.
  17. @tekering nice "tinkering" work on the custom.
  18. Thanks for the tip.
  19. He didn't want to carry it to the door and wait for you. Some woman got tired of this and had a camera caught the postman coming to her door with the "missed you" card without even ringing or knocking on the door and without bringing the box. It went viral and on the news.
  20. @jeniusornome agreed Defects have to be major before the seller or cc is responsible. Was the toy so broken that they sold you a lemon? Minor errors or blemishes are dealt with differently by different companies. Some companies offer a replacement if you paid a premium for a mint and it was graded as a mint. In most cases, they won't do much. In this DX market, it's hard to get a valk, so sellers aren't going to find a replacement for a discontinued item. You decide whether the defect is so broken that you'd return it. Broken shoulders on a transforming toy is major. Paint errors aren't, though since we pay a lot of cash you'd expect the paint to be better If it's used and was sold as new, that's a problem you can also complain about.
  21. Inspecting for defects is on the buyer if it's MISB with no box damage, within a set amount of time. Each store has a different time frame for inspection. Stores may have a week or more. If the member here had inspected in on time, he/she could have complained to the seller, or if the seller doesn't accept returns, then he/she could have complained to the cc or Paypal. As I've said before, MIB inspected>MISB defective. Just chiming in, as it seems members are not aware of the rules when making these expensive purchases. It's nice he shared his experience so that others here don't step in the same crap. Very tempted to pull trigger as the prices aren't as crazy as preorder night.
  22. It's defective goods. You were sold defective goods. You have a contract with NY, not the manufacturer. Bandai, as far as I know, doesn't service out of Japan. NY has a contract with Bandai, if they bought it from Bandai, they should take it up with Bandai, unless they bought it from another store or used goods. @tekering Thanks your picture says it all @General Rasp Similar experience, I got banned when they wouldn't exchange or refund, so I opened a Paypal dispute and did not reply to Paypal, NY banned me. Most sellers would reply to me or Paypal. There's a difference between speculators and scalpers; Speculators buy items and guess that the item will be worth more in the future without manipulating the market. speculators are playing within the rules of capitalism and the law, but scalpers are cornering the market and artificifically forcing the price up since the have gamed the system. This is unlawful in many regions because governments recognize it's exploitative. Speculators are gambling; scalpers are fixing the game. Capitalism has limits that the government imposes to curb exploitation. As I mentioned, in commodities trading, which this resembling, has rules for non delivery or jacking up the price, and cornering the market. It's just that this is a "low" stakes sector of the market or the government would step in. I'm sorry I don't have your gold after sitting on your money for years, I'll just refund you without interest. You'll just have to buy your gold at double or triple the price somewhere else. Or tomorrow I'll have gold at higher price you can buy again. No, that is not lawful because the replacement cost is much higher and many companies sue over that. Both the government and businesses deal with this problem. Larger businesses include heavy penalties in their contracts so the other doesn't back out or screw them. The governments set laws so bad/scalper behavior doesn't mess up the market. Thanks, did you get one? Your credit card or Paypal should cover you. In North America, consumer protection and contract laws don't allow that. Japan may be different, but I don't think so. All the other companies this board regularly purchases from does not behave like this, only NY. Japanese, as another member here pointed out, have a different culture, and pride and reputation and face mean a lot to them. Most Japanese would try to honor a deal since honor is a big part of their culture. NY may be the exception since some have debated whether they are scalpers or not, but their customer service is not good. This His contract isn't with the manufacturer, it's with the seller. Although the seller may not know (without inspecting the product that is MISB) that it's defective, the seller in turn has been sold something defective by the manufacturer. The seller had a contract with the manufacturer. So who has a relationship with whom? That's who you go to complain. It is there responsibility. Manufacturers started offering a manufacturer's warranty because of cases like this. If a bad can of food was sold in a giant lot to a warehouse, it doesn't open every can, it resells it to another retailer, who resells it to a grocery store who sells it to mommy who gifts it to her friend for Christmas who finds a finger in the can. Everyone in the chain has a contract with the person before that they can sue, except the person who received a gift. Who can she sue since she didn't buy it? The fault wasn't her friend's or the grocery store or the warehouse, etc. It was the manufacturer's. But back then, they couldn't sue, so Tort law came in Britain, since manufacturers rarely sell directly to the consumer. Manufacturers also wanted peeps to be confident of their products so warranties came about. Later, consumer protection laws came in too, so buyers have some choices, but at the end of the day, since the member here has a contract with NY, that's who is responsible to him. NY sold him/her defective merchandise whether they knew it or not. The buyer doesn't know the risk (unless the listing says sold as is). NY being a retailer knows this business better than the customer, and understands the risks since they regularly deal with manufacturers, so consumer protection laws put the responsibility on the seller. MIB>MISB defective This. Just charge back. If they treat you bad, you must be masochist to go back to them. Terms and conditions have to be prominently displayed. Like on ebay, it has to say "as is" "returns not accepted" "used" "broken". That's what he got, but that's not what he paid for. If he knew that, he wouldn't have paid the inflated price. This
  23. @tekering Nice pics. Do they antennae/ears swivel or are they on ball joints? I think the VF-1J was on a ball joint when I handled it in store. From the pics, the circle part of the head lasers/antennae look like they are on swivels. At this point, I'm waiting and seeing since I don't like scalpers and Max was available after release for a small markup. HLJ did not offer me the open order status on preorder day but told me they got too many orders even though I got through checkout. Burns that they got more stock and didn't offer it to me chronologically ahead of those who ordered it on release day.
  24. Just checked my yammie valkyrie. The folded backpack is showing the front/outside tips for both left and right stabilizers. The red tip is the top of the stabilizer, so in the pic the 001 is correct on both stabilizers.
  25. @Tober Just read your linked article it's good stuff! Most of the points are stuff I rehashed here, like delivering on time. The links for the credit cards didn't work for me; I got 404 error page not found. If you updated links, let me know, this was a helpful post @Tober thanks!
