They cost about the same..? In terms of yen back in the day. I bought my Hikaru 1a super Yamato for about 10000 yen on saleBut yeah the Yamato Arcadia are expensive now. Regret not buying those destroids.
The wave model kits are nice but all plastic.
Hmr is a good size for collecting and fun to play with. The whole line could fit in a shelf.
Me too. I'm gonna put my gimix Valk with a regult hmr to reproduce the city battle scenes in the intro to the tv show. If it's too small I'll mix it with my revoltech regult Thanks cool tip
Is the canopy for the 1a frosted? From the pics the 1j looks pretty clear but the 1a looks opaque?
Can you build the battroid mode and the plane mode and pose the 2 or can you only build one mode at a time? I think of you build the gerwalk it'll take parts from both modes.
The weathered Tomahawk with the floating pilot hasn't been done by anyone since Yamato had a weathered Tomahawk with pilot and support personnel.
It's not confirmed but it sure is pretty.
Watching that awesome video again. The weathering on the armored valkyrie and the Tomahawk is gonna set this apart from the hmr line. The opening nose cone and the ladder for the pilot and the floating pilot are details that are sellers.
I like the varied paint schemes like the all black with yellow tips valkyrie and the low viz. The different vf4g look great.
If they sell the sdf as a mechanical set is probably gonna cost as much as the Yamato they used to sell.
Shucks. Missed out on the metal Ex-s. Sold out
Sorry a little off topic.
Too bad bandai doesn't take preorders like some small model companies solicit preorders for months so customers have lots of times to make orders. Then they go production and make an extra batch. Then the product is widely available and not over producing since they know how many orders they have. No shelf warmers. Customers happy.
Ex-s?! I missed out, cuz I was skipping Max. ugh
Is this ex-s better than the MG, and the Fix Figuration? I already have both... sorry a little off topic. I'm a big fan of Ex-s, one of my all time favorites. Is it bigger than the MG?
The Tomahawk had a floating pilot and opening cockpit? ! Do those launch arms and loading bays move? !!
Ahhhh I was gonna pass on this line and go all in the hmr line but that is insane details.
Has anyone got theirs vfs shipped? Are the parts for swapping plug and play like the store photos, or are switching modes involving loss of teeny parts?
If they include the missle pods for the regult with the max I'm in. Otherwise it's a pass
I think macross fans are like five star stories fans: the color palette has to match the art work. Gundam fans are the exact opposite: they paint and customize their models to look different from the art work.
The white and blue packs reminds me of the zeta plus hummingbird with blue and white jet packs also made by bandai in the fix figuration line.
I think it's for holding onto capital ships have clampbars. Like the nu Gundam has little claws on the bottom of its feet to hold onto capital ships since there's no gravity. They show it for the Gundam on the instructions. These designs were contemporary so it's not uncommon for them to copy designs. Or for a grip to recoil of the cannon on top. Or for catapult off the run way? I'm not a guru.
No I was talking about the stands that look like a launcher arm for the valkyries in space and the other look like part of a Zentraedi capital ship. They might be custom stands though.
Yeah the Glaug is s bit bigger than the regults. Maybe also people don't army build officer pods.
I have to admit that the large size of the monster is a factor. Also the price.
Do you guys think it'll have ratcheting guns? If it's ball pegs they'll droop over time. They arms and legs look like they'll be ratchet joints since the regult and glaug had them.
Mine doesn't either. Neither did the regult.
It looks like it could but it doesn't
Premium toy cheap stands
Bandai wants us to buy that launcher stand and the Zentraedi ship stand
I like the new shoulders filled out. They should add the seat that comes out the head and the rib walls like the Arcadia. Then Re release it with the heat shield working. And again with retractable wheels.
I don't mind bandai milking the mold. Keeps prices down and more valkyries available to us collectors.
If they could release them in between non valkyrie mecha there'd be more variety.
