Sorry...whut...??
Can you please elaborate more details on the "ultra rare 1984 Pre-Production Strike Valkyrie" ?

VB-6 vs 2 DX 1/48s for size comparison...GEEEEZ!

Earlier this year there was a lottery for Tamashi-Nations club members and others.
You would register you'd want a Mechanic Edition and get put into a lottery, then names were announced and toys shipped 11/17 for this years show. Now we are after-show and they put up another lottery type system which just closed
Those winners get announced next weekI'm not sure how other companies got this, as it says 1 per person everywhere I look
I picked up mine using a proxy buyer from Yahoo Japan auctions from a private seller. We'll see a bunch of these getting listed in April 2024 so if you missed out on this one (prices too high) just wait a bit longer for more to hit the market

I swear we are all in the Matrix

Thanks for posting the link-now I can clearly see just how the arms detach. Such a crazy option they need to include to be accurate to the anime.
So in 10 years will we see these on the collectors market as 'Loose YF-21/2024 release, missing right arm' 😛

That is brutal...wow!

Wow-this is a super rare build, thanks for sharing the pics!
This is the true "Macross Zero" for me. Moscato is king.Look at all the wonderful detailing, excellent work!!
-
Has anyone actually PAINTED one of these sets?
I wonder if you could got down the hobby store and get some paints

any mention of the magazine and # month?
edit: i would think it would be dengeki hobby aka figure king no 310...
The DX articles are from Hobby Japan. I suspect in a couple weeks we'll see this new updated posted too.

Ok...so THAT explains why shipping 2 of these Konigs from HLJ was 113USD as the cheapest option..others were 140.
That box is gigantic. I feel better now or at least more understanding

Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Felt like I was looking at Hasegawa's studio build pictures for their catalogs....great angles and incredible work!!
-
Wow-with the closeups we can see that Bandai used decals on this mockup instead of Tampo printing, which makes a lot of sense for a proto
I was wondering if they had a little hand printer or something they could just apply wherever they wanted...not the world is normal again -
I do feel a bit better knowing we are not the only ones who had horrible shipping experience with this book-
these are from amazon japan, translated to english...sounds exactly like what we had, except we had an overseas element as well

not backwards, they are on both sides of the standard mold for the super/strike forearm armor, also used to secure the gun pod (if you could call it secure).
edit, but as you pointed out the mold does appear to be new with the circle, could be backwards, but the notches are normally on both sides.
ah you are right, in my brain I was thinking the gunpod mounts were only on the inside....not sure where I got that idea
-
Noticed the arms are on backwards (L/R), but also its a slightly new design with the circle on the inside
(the gunpod mount would be center of both arms, not on the outside) -
It needs to have a button on the display stand that plays 'Sunset Beach' on demand
-
I've always wanted to have a VT-1 like this (The old Orange Collection models)
-
I wonder if the Ostrich uses normal size tailfins and does some other geometry magic with the rear hinge, or if it uses the shorter tailfins like Yamato did (that always bugged me, I like a full size tailfin)
-
I wasn't sure if the light was playing off it, but it does look like it could be clear plastic-the wing stripe seems to be peeking through
-
So the VT-1 might come with 4 figures?
HIkaru in Flight Suit + Minmei
and
Hikaru and Misa in the escape aftermath?

Oh heck yeah...for the 40th Anniversary of DYRL 1984/2024, so maybe middle/end of next year?
We should see some more pics in the upcoming Tamashi Nations show this weekend-cannot wait!! -
Lets tone down the 'pisswaffles' type comments please, you can criticize in a less crude manner here.
I'm looking forward to seeing this in person! I like the details I've seen so far, and the different interpretation of the fast pack internals vs Yamato.
I think we have 4 unique versions now...Club-M which looks like the Gold Book Poster, the Yamato, which went with individual missiles, the Yamato/Arcadia 1/60 which changed the engines a little, but kept the individual missiles, and finally the DX, which returns to the missile tube version, but adds the little engine details (like the little spheres)

What are we talking about in packaging?
Smooth vs Textured box? Or something else?
What am I not seeing?
