Use secure mail form for member to member mails?

Hides users email addresses

and it is set to YES

Know if there is a Invision board option to allow the member to disable that button? Can't find one yet...

go to My Controls up top

Click Board options at bottom left

Change "Do you wish to view members signatures when reading threads?" to NO

bingo gone!

avatars can be directly uploaded-they do not need to be posted in a thread(in fact I discourage this as the test forum is going to be cleaned out ever other week or two)

The anime/sci fi section was born out of the requests for this 'catch all' area from a majority of members

Once Max gets on board, and if he still wants to be a moderator (hey-I don't assume ANYONE wants to have that sort of 'fun' again) we'll get some of unique icons from the old board

Going to work on a custom 'post count' update script if possible-no guarantees but I'll see what I can do. Getting this place running has been my first priority

if people come here to start trouble they will be banned just as they were in the other forums

there is no need for this 'war' between MW and RT.com-its an absolute waste of time and does nothing but make people rethink wanting any part of the macross/robotech fandom

it never dies - just look at the old google archives-same fights for the last 10 years of posts

Just tested it-worked for me

we only allow pics with the following extensions

gif,jpeg,jpg,png

let me know if you still get the problem after using one of these types

In each of your profiles there are two fields-

1) Old MW Name

2) Old MW Post Count

If you are migrating from the original board can you please fill those out? I will get those stats updated for you over the next 2 weeks.

Hello everyone!

Yes-we are finally back! First off the updates

Old - Celeron 1.3Mhz 512MB ram

New - Pentium 4 2.0Ghz 1GB ram

Old - Ikonboard 3 (DBM-which we just plain killed)

New - Invision Board 1.2 (MySql and Php-which is what we should have been 2 years ago)

The good:

The new forums should be able to handle our load

The bad:

There is just no way in hell to transfer all the info from the old boards.

I've been trying for 2 weeks now to upgrade our IB to MySQL. The DBM files were just too damn big. Even when I had the server entirely to myself it would constantly time out on every procedure.

Resigned myself to simply ditch the message transfer and go for a member only migration.

3700+ registered members killed this migration too. The upgrade software/methods just cannot deal with something so bloated (I don't blame the Ikonboard software at all-its been a great 2 years! All the trouble has been entirely my fault because I rode the DBM wagon much too long)

So here we are. New boards, fresh members. I guess now is the time for all of you who wanted to change your screen name to do so. LOL

We are going to indefinitely keep the old IB forums online (link below). You can gather important PM's or browse old posts at your leisure. I'm going to be bringing some of our very first posts back online in that forum(I have backups from the beginning). It will be our version of http://www.archive.org/

I'll turn the old boards back online on Friday evening(aug 22nd)-I want to monitor the server logs without the IB overhead right now.
