Anyone else watching Welcome to Derry?

I am really enjoying the lore building....

I like the angle of the US military thinking about weaponizing something they have no clue about....I like where the story is going so far....

Last Sunday's episode was by far the best so far. Everything is starting to come together, the Native Americans, showing how Pennywise arrived on Earth and why he can't leave Derry was told very well. I'm ready for the next episode.

That bathroom scene... Yikes!!!

The CG in the show is quite spotty, but somehow, still works? Like, it's not great, but I can accept it because of the performances and the whole surreal nightmare reality-warp thing IT can do. Very solid last episode, for anyone that has read the book, and King's other work, it's been pretty fun to watch and catch easter eggs here and there, Dark Tower, The Shining, Shawshank, etc.

To be honest, just the intro alone is quite creepy & eerie, between the music & visuals.

Finally...

Spoiler

we see Pennywise as a clown. Also, just to be clear, Matty was Pennywise the whole time when he was with the kids in their secret hangout space and into the sewers, right?

Damn, tonight was like Game of Thrones in Derry, no one is safe!

Spoiler

RIP Rich, you were a good kid. I liked his character, a shame to see him go.

Wild ending, but felt they tied up all if not most loose ends....

Felt like if they did not make any additional seasons, the story would be just fine as a one-shot prequel story....

Spoiler

I wonder if Mrs. Kersh ends up dying of old age...or will  "dear ol' papa" not resist the urge to finally taste her when he comes out of his 27 year rest cycle?

Spoiler

....or was she already dead or "possessed" by Pennywise in that final scene?....

Spoiler

Between the missing poster with Richie's face on it from the 2017 movie & then seeing Beverly at the end was a trip, I wasn't expecting that.

From one of the producers:

In an interview with Radio TU, Muschietti revealed that “season 1 is 1962, season two is 1935, and season three is 1908.” Each era is drawn from the original novel’s interludes, which chronicle an investigation by Mike Hanlon (Will Hanlon’s future son) into Derry’s gruesome past and the three major events linked to It.

Everything, everywhere, all at once....I'll definitely keep watching if they make more seasons....dang HBO keeps coming out with shows I actualy want to watch.....basterds!

Spoiler

I loved that scene where Hallorann was able to get into Pennywise's "head" even if for just a few seconds....those native herbs they gave him must have been the good stuff!....

The line about being a god and devourer of worlds then getting bitch slapped was awesome....then he spots Hallorann's mistake....

Guessing we'll have to wait until the 1908 season to see the scene where poor Bob Grey gets eaten by Pennywise....☹️

...and now I get why IT told Marge about her future son....in the hopes of maybe altering that future?

In hindsight, not telling folks their future could also be a form of revenge? Like not trolling Hallorann about his demise....that knowledge could have been beneficial....oh well...

I could see a Hallorann spin-off....
