Dobber Posted January 14, 2004 Author Posted January 14, 2004 I figured F-8's were old but I brought them up anyway because one is shown in the movie as a recon bird. Wasn't sure of its payload though. Chris
Coota0 Posted January 14, 2004 Posted January 14, 2004 If you're curious about late 1970's Naval warfare (Air-to-Sea, not Air-to-Mud) check out Stephen Coont's book The Intruders it's the sequal to Flight of the Intruder. It focuses on training and warfare against the Soviet Navy.
David Hingtgen Posted January 14, 2004 Posted January 14, 2004 Recon F-8's survived into the mid-80's. But they were gone as combatants well before then.
estacado06479 Posted January 15, 2004 Posted January 15, 2004 i refuse to read the rest of the posts in this topic as they might distract me from what i think this topic is really about: 80's glam metal the final countdown was my favorite song for about 5 minutes, until Poison came out, and just before i found out that both those bands were for Sally asses. Europe ROCKS!!!
