GIJOE Skystriker gunpod

So after getting the Starscream, I wanted G1 style weapons. Another idea came to me, Jetfire and VF-1!!!!!

So here is the mock up for the Skystriker Gunpod.

With a little re-tooling we could have...

You know, with a little plasticard, the cheap robotech VF-1S vehicle toy and a few other bits and bobs you could make a decent 1:18ish VF-1 toy out of the skystriker.

Brilliant.

Not quite to 1:18 scale, but a million times better than the Matchbox version of the 80's (and ExoSquad reissue of the 90's).

Gotta complain some - I had the Skystriker toy, and the gun pod on that was essentially a perfect match for the Tomcat's drop tanks, except for the four muzzle ports. The pod itself retained the point and the blunt tail: http://www.yojoe.com/vehicles/83/skystriker/skystriker_bottom.shtml

The pod might be somewhat overscale, but then the entire Skystriker was a mishmash.

What you have there looks much more like it belongs on a VF-1, ergo the Jetfire toy...

Solscud's plan was to make a Jetfire custom from the Sky Striker. But then again he also planned to make the Roy Focker Skull. But will he ever get to it... lol.
