This animation was done by the group that would become Gainax. This is the starting point of a series of podcasts we're doing on Gainax. If you have favorites you want us to touch on, let us know!

Knight26 Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Nice podcast, thank god it wasn't another power ranger podcast. I wonder if anyone has ever done a frame by frame of those to point out all the different anime and sci-fi it draws from, it was too quick for me to pick it all up.

Thank god it wasn't another Power Ranger podcast? In our nearly three years of podcasting, we have done exactly two Power Rangers episodes. Funkenstein Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 There's just too many references. The biggest ones are obviously the Kaiju stuff, Star Wars,Star Trek, Yamato, Harlock. The Daicon IV video got even more stuff, like Daimos, Marvel and DC, Star Trek movie series, Macross, just too many too count.
