Why is diecast so important?

THat's what I want to know too. It should only be for the innards like in the VF-1 and YF-21/VF-22 anything major on the exterior ruins the overall look if combined with ABS as with the 25.

it's a weight thing... esp. for the Super Robots/SOC etc. collectors... they actually measure the weight and judge it in proportion to the size of the fig.

Why is diecast so important?

Sense of quality, worth, and durability. There are arguments to support and counter this line of thought. It's not necessarily wrong to use diecast nor right to use diecast. It's all about how diecast is used. Some toys could use more diecast, others could use less.
