I remember Great Mechanics DX being mentioned a few months back in one of the threads, but can't seem to find a dedicated thread for it. Thought it would be good to do so since the mook has Macross content occasionally.

That said, has anyone seen the latest issue, DX9?

What's interesting is that the feature of this issue is the development of variable fighters from MacZero to Frontier. Wonder if this is worth picking up...

In previous issues of Great Mechanics with macross content, were they relatively unique to it, or are they just re-prints of info from other sources?

The info is relatively unique to it. in general, Great Mechanics are mostly focused on mecha stats. Which is great, as other publications tend to neglect statistical data...

Anyhow, started a translation of it: http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/index.php?topic=2252.0

and some other Great Mechanics and Great Mechanics.DX: http://www.macrossroleplay.org/Sketchley/p...ranslations.htm

Just got a copy of it from Kinokuniya today. Very cool stats and pics of the various Valkyries they have inside the book. It's a good buy. The cover art is awesome as well.

Also picked up Great Mechanics DX 9.

As others have mentioned, the cover is great and maybe the text contains some new information (I don't know, not being able to read Japanese).

However, the lineart is nothing new that hasn't been published in a dozen other books and the quality of the lineart to be honest is not that great. Many of the pics have been enlarged to the point where the lines show obvios jagged edges.
