Imagining Zentrans exterminating Gubaba's just like what their counterpart do to the Tribbles..... I sa y future Macross villain will be splinter colony/macross fleet, also since Kawamori has offered giant, A.I., Space Monster, and bugs as enemies in Macross, he probably choose plant based lifeform as the next enemy.
