Well some of you already know that the next takara bookstyle reissue is going to be astrotrain, but did you know it was going to be the japanese release black and white one instead of the american release one which is purple, black and white? Here's some pictures.

astrotrain

I could be wrong and these pictures are just to show you how he looks like, but I'm just guessing they'll release the japanese version. I would think that they would release the american version and save the japanese version for the ehobby exclusive thingy that they always do. I'm stil waiting to see if they will release soundblaster as an exclusive when soundwave officially comes out. :p:D:lol:

Sweet Jimminy... Thats awesome, but Astrotrains arms are like stumpy little protrusions!! LOL!! Still cool though.

Say... Remember in Transformers The Movie? The big triple changing Tank Decepton is about to blow away Hotrod, and Cup drives in and pulls the Decepticons cannon up, making him shoot someone else.

What Decepticon was that? It was always one of my favorite designs ^__^

Astrostrain, though not my fave, is by far the best triple-changer. Perfect shuttle, perfect train--and he changes color! Depending on what version, he's either a grey shuttle and purple train, or white shuttle and black train. (Blitzwing also has very good color changes, but each mode isn't quite as good--turret's too obvious as a plane, afterburners too obvious as tank)

That triple-changer is Blitzwing, who is colored purple and tan. He can transform either as a tank or a MiG-25 Foxbat as his alt-mode.

And as for the one he shot down is Shrapnel (or one of his clones), who later slams right at him by the shot and both of them fell down.

What I like about Blitzwing and Astrotrain is that they share similar design concepts and I like the way they are also paired together. Octane, however, doesn't look right alongside with them.

Well, Astrotrain has the white color scheme when it was on the drawing boards and Takara got to release it in the first run of 1985. Hasbro, however, told them to change his colors so that they don't get sued by NASA. This lead to the purple, black and grey that we all love.

Whatever the case, I hope for the white version. If we get the grey, I expect that he gets the show colors.

I hope for that too, including Soundblaster's two-tape cassette slot. ;)

For all you Soundwave fans, I found a review of the reissue with pictures:

http://tfkenkon.com/collection/act137/

The best part is that the tape cover has a silver/purple Decepticon sticker instead of the rubsign (I hate the rubsign as his chest sticker  ). The rubsign is relocated to his battery cover.

The thing I hate about most transformers, is that their Arms, and their Legs are ALWAYS messed up.

The only really good looking Legs and Arms that actually looked /good/ on the robot, was Beachcomber and Optimus Prime. They transformed into really believable robots. A lot of the others make it look like the robot would hobble around in pain and screaming for a sponge bath.

I mean, I /LOVE/ Blitzwing, but the toy doesnt even have /legs or feet/!!! Its annoying man..

I've just had an epiphany.

Soundwave is bad-ass.

...

Now why didn't I realize this when I was a kid?

I like the regular decepticon sign being on the cassette door to instead of the rubsign, but it's a little too high if you ask me. Isn't it suppose to be more in the middle? I find it odd that it's that high. Oh well, you can't have everything. :p:D:lol:
