  1. Yeah, it was on at, like one or two AM Thursday nights (or technically, Friday mornings). Most anime series these days air past midnight. Hell, when I went to Tokyo in Fall 2007, they were re-running SDFM at 3:30 AM Thursday mornings. I caught a few episodes before I got over the jet lag.
  2. That's where the mindfrak BEGINS!?! More than the ending of Season 3??? (Don't answer that, please. ) Hoo-boy, I feel like I'm in for something really special...but I'm not sure if it'll be a trick or a treat...
  3. I take it you don't like the last season? (See, this is one of the reasons I want to watch Galactica 1980 before I go into Season 4. Nearly ANYTHING would look good in comparison.)
  4. Thank you! (Sorry for being such a pain...it'll all be over soon, though.)
  5. I like the yellow sign that one guy's carrying: "Basara + Sheryl = INVINCIBLE." Right on, man. Right on.
  6. It's funny. The reason my DVD Provider started, um, providing the DVDs was because I was working on Macross at the coffee shop where we hang out, and she asked what I was working on. I told her about Macross, and she immediately asked, "Have you watched Battlestar Galactica?" Oh, and I didn't read your list of similarities because I figure there are some spoilers in there. Can anyone tell me if the coast is clear?
  7. I think the rationale is easy to understand (BEAR IN MIND: THIS IS MY UNDERSTANDING ON THE SITUATION. I HAVE NO CONTACTS AT BIG WEST, SO I MAY BE COMPLETELY OFF.) I suspect that BW simply doesn't want to work with HG, having been unhappy with their track record. Macross II was licensed to U.S Renditions, Macross Plus to Manga Entertainment. Then HG claimed that they owned the rights to all Macross sequels (although they've stopped doing that since), essentially calling Big West's deals with other companies fraudulent. If someone calls you a fraud, and then tries to maneuver things so that you HAVE to work with them (and you didn't like what they did with your work previously), would you be willing to make them your partner? Most people would decline that offer, I think.
  8. I used to have one of the old Gakken Legioss toys (the green one...I got it before New Generation started airing, or else I would've gotten the blue one), but the arm fell off. I think I still have it somewhere if you want it, though.
  9. Heh. That's what I thought at first, too. I was wondering...why does Seto want a Legioss?
  10. So, if you were a Robotech episode, which episode would you be? And why?
  11. Who isn't?

  13. Well, I look at it this way. I like the little locally-owned used DVD sales/rental shop. They've already paid for the DVDs and it's not like they need two copies of something like Galactica 1980. So I like to think I'm helping to support the store, not the product.
  14. Brought who up?
  15. If that's true, then I expect everyone to prove it. Stop worrying about what he's saying on his podcast, stop caring about what he claims or doesn't claim, stop checking to see what websites he's joined. If he's as much of a desperate, lonely fraud as he seems, what he says should have no effect on anyone. Just because someone wants to hand you a pile of dogshit doesn't mean you have to accept it.
  16. Maybe tonight I can scan the covers of the Macross II novels. They're purty.
  17. Yeah, but he calls EVERYTHING a victory. Banned from RT.com? Victory. Joining RT.com again? Victory. Getting someone to appear on his show? Victory. Not getting someone to appear on his show? Victory. So what? It's his podcast; let him say whatever he wants to. Yes, I'm sure some of his "lessoners" are fooled by his spin, but probably not many. And if his audience numbers are as low as Seto says they are, he's speaking to a nearly empty room. So who cares what he says?
  18. Nope, that one was typo...
  19. I'm between seasons 3 and 4, and i've watched Razor. So I'm taking the time between seasons to finish watching the original series, which I find tremendously bad overall. I figure I've watched 23 episodes of the first series (and I'm watching the last one sometime today). I figure if I've come this far I might as well rent Galactica 1980 and complete the saga...
  20. I watched "Take the Celestra" yesterday. It wasn't as abysmally bad as some other episodes in the series. Only one left to go, and then my endurance test is over...unless I decide to pick up Galactica 1980.
  21. I'm trying to resist the temptation to await his next post like a dog waiting for a piece of raw meat to tear apart. We're not going to change his mind, he's not going to change ours. Yes, it's all good fun to look at his posts, and count the misstatements, or the logical leaps, or the spelling and grammar errors...but really, there's nothing there to engage with. Sure, Pete can write pages and pages in response, but Pete has a restless mind, and chews ideas the way others chew bubblegum. Most of us can't (or don't want to) engage Doug on that level...and Doug can't engage Pete back on the same level, so what's the point? Just to laugh and feel superior? You don't need him to post HERE to do that; just "lesson" to his dozens of hours of podcasts, and you'll feel superior quite quickly. Besides, now that Doug has realized that Seto really ISN'T our leader (and never claimed to be), he may have lost his reason to come here. I kind of hope so, if only for the Mods' peace of mind.
  22. That's an interesting way of putting it. "Macross World: You'll come for Seto, but you'll stay for the BOMBAA!!"
  23. They'll cover their ears, shut their eyes, and chant "But when I was six years old, Robotech was THE BEST THING EVER!!!" over and over.
  24. Fire Bomber, of course. I'm not heartless!
  25. I know...but the point was that they never USED the word "Zentraedi" anywhere in the script. Ever wonder why...?
