    According to a video message she posted on Facebook, Mari Iijima might be doing a 3rd concert in Japan this year - a Christmas gig on December 23rd. If anyone has plans to travel to Japan or be in the Tokyo area around this time, be sure to check the concert out!

    The membership cards for the new version of the Macross F fanclub - Ftama PLUS have started arriving along with some freebies. Heres a pic of some new Ebata artwork on some clear files that came with it. Also -a birthday card they sent me. Yay! (sorry for large pic sizes)

    Daaaamn that trailer IS spoilerific to the MAX! (←hint?) I recommend holding off on watching it if you want to avoid spoilers. Keep in mind its made for the japan market and therefore presumes that everyone has already seen the movie (ie, 'Now you can watch the galaxy shaking conclusion AT HOME!') The Last Frontier footage is niiiice. Good to see that certain mechs from the movie will be in it! Just wish it was a fully fledged stand alone product instead of an extra....

    Yay, I got a little Ai-kun too! Now my home avatar has a little green Ai-kun on its head! Servers crashed here too immediately after the concert ended. Was a fun little event, if short (6 songs). 4 frontier songs and 2 original series songs - decent mix if a little Ranka heavy (2 Sheryl songs vs 4 Ranka songs). Still, Ill probably try to catch it again later in the week. My only real grip was people talking in the chat box during the plot scenes - it kept covering up the characters text! Some people just have no manners...time to turn the chat box off entirely in the options I think.

    User name is Gwynjin. Feel free to say hi, altho I will probably be AFK for a bit yet. Its been a while since Ive used Home - is there anyway to lock or zoom the camera? Even after I center it on the screen, it starts panning if I dont touch the controller for a while....very annoying.

    Am going to give this a go today. Just bought myself a Sheryl jacket and fan - team Sheryl all the way! WooooT! Its 3 hrs before it starts and theres already at least 50ppl in here. Impressive stuff! Got a good seat so Im gonna let my avatar camp in while I run down to the shops for a coffee. Camping concert spots, lol. Its just like the real thing! (speaking of which, Im off to a tiny Fukuyama acoustic gig in Yokohama tonight too ;-)

    Recently marathoned episodes 1-13 of Tiger & Bunny thanks to a free promotional streaming offer that Bandai Channel was doing. I must say I like the show. A lot. It's a better anime take on superheroes than the recent Marvel-Madhouse productions were. Good anination, some interesting character relationships - this is the sort of title that would have been a gateway show in the US....back in the days that young/new anime fans actually bought videos/DVDs and anime was popular enough to get broadcast. Then again, the same could be said for Michiko & Hatchin which I picked the first 2 blurays up for at an Amazon sale (1500yen each). Love the visual style of the show! Apart from that, Im slowly making my way through Patlabor TV which is so much fun and so nicely cell animated that I dont think i ever want to actually finish it ^^;

    regardless of where you are you can open a Japanese PSN account and access the japanese version of Home. having said that, I really am NOT looking forward to opening Home up again. its such a mess...

    Apparently Bandai Namco registered a trademark filing for the title 'Last Frontier' on May 17. Possibly another video game? I seem to remember predicting there would be another game this year to keep the hype going between The Wings of farewell and the 30th anniversary. looks like I may have been correct ;-)

    Well, we are only looking at doing these every 3 months or so, lol. Next one will probably go up once i get the current work project/related travel out of the way 8ie, within the next month or so).

    Well its not really like that, is it? Nishizaki legally won the rights to yamato after 2decades in court and apparently those rights were passed on to his (adopted?) son after his death (by falling off the Yamato). And Im sure he doesnt want to get matsumoto involved in it again. As for Matsumoto, Im sure he would love to fix the new series so that it fits into the overall continuity of the Leijiverse 8ie, Kodai's brother could actually become Harlock) but it just aint happening Im afraid.

    Not really. The movie bombed in the cinemas but this had just as much to do with the fact that it opened during school holidays on the same day as a One Piece movie - everyone agrees the timing was amazingly stupid. It managed to break even with the DVD/Blu release though from what Ive heard. At this years Yamato party, Hirotaka Furukawa noted that he hopes to do the two sequel movies (Rebirth was supposed to be a trilogy) and an article in a local newspaper a while back mentioned that he is looking into remaking the original tv series as well, although without Matsumoto's involvement unfortunately. I think the success of the live action version will make it considerably easier for him to get funding for these too.
