  1. I'm getting a few boxes of series 3 within a few days, and I'm not trying to complete the set (I just want 4 from the 3rd set), so I'll have plenty to trade. I'll post my trade list then.

    Unfortunately, I'm looking for 6 fro series 2 (0S, 25S, RVF, 1S, 19 and 21)

    I'll post soon!

Just though I'd attach a pic to show ho a little panel lining makes such a big difference...

  2. Also my idea to keep macross alive was genius but like all thing people put it down then when its too late you cant do it

    You know...

...you're totally right! We need more helpful ideas from people like you, and less MacrossWorld members trying to subtly disguise the sarcasm in their responses.

You should apply to be a manufacturing consultant for Yamato. Be sure to include in your resume that you are a "self-proclaimed genius", for those are the best kind!

...sorry, couldn't resist. So much fodder here... 3 pages already...

And I don't speak Icelandic, but I don't believe it would be as difficult to decipher as your prose. The suggestion about using punctuation and thoughtfulness before you write could really serve you well in the future.

  3. Thanks for all the kind words.

My only wish is that Bandai would go with a semi-gloss or satin finish instead of a gloss. It would make a world of difference. Oh well, I'll still blow my money on them!

  4. Looks good. I'm guessing you canibalised the old Bandai 1/144 scale model kit for parts?

    Graham

    Yup.

    This figure consists of:

    - Yamato 11B body, hips, thighs, hands and neck

    - Bandai 144 VF-17 front and back of body, head, arms, lower legs and feet, and gun

    - The wrist joints and shoulder joints are from some other plastic kits

    - The head was widened slightly to look a bit better, the end result is a taller, slightly wider figure to match the Yamato line

  5. I have that kit. It was produced by B-Club and it's mostly a solid block of resin. There is also a not-so-great Deunan torso in the cockpit. I will try to dig it out and post some photos.

    -i-

I know your message was 2 years old, but I've started to think of that kit again. Do you still have it? and would you consider selling it?

  6. I'd like to say i was lucky too, but...

I am going to sell a great deal of my collection. Not the Macross stuff, of course, but everything else, from Diaclones, Transformers, Hao Pride Figures, lego, pinky street, star wars etc...

We bought our apartment 5 years ago, and with a 1 year old baby, we decided to move into a larger apartment and rent it while renting ours out. We'll just wait for the market to settle before we buy another place, and our rent in is $50 more than what we pay out (of course we have some added expenses at both, so we're probably losing out a little). Anyways, I'm just selling because I realized I like Macross over all else.

Ebay will be full of my stuff in the next week or so.

  7. Wow

A lot of racism here. I come to these forums for news on toys, and I get this ridiculous banter stemming from people's ignorance. And then we get statements like "I've been to China, and this is my worldly opinion, so listen up". My posts are always about helpful tips or customs, but after reading this I'm thankful to say...

My Wife is Chinese, I'm East Indian, (our child is Chindian). She cares more about taking days off, caring for our little one, sports and her master's studies than she does about money or clothes. She supports my toy collecting because I don't get carried away and spend much money on it (I collect a few valks from each series). All my toys stay in my den. and she's an athletic hottie, in perfect shape after our baby.

and she also likes the Rau better than all my other macross stuff too!

and I have also been through asia (China, Japan, Thailand, India, Myanmar, Singapore, Malaysia, HK, South Korea) and Europe (Germany, Italy, France, UK, Slovenia, Austria, Switzerland) as well as South America, and I have lived my whole life in Vancouver, BC, Canada (extremely multicultural). In all my experience of meeting money focused Chinese people, rude French people and arrogant Americans, I would never judge others by my previous experiences. So anyone that makes a broad generalization about a race to me is ignorant, regardless of their personal experience.

After this, only posting about Macross

  8. Thanks... did you have to dissemble to head, pull off the laser turrets and heat them individually or anything?

Nope, just popped the head off the neck, held the head on my fingertip, and used the hairdryer (just don't melt them) you'll see the lasers start to move and reposition more straight.

  9. Oh yea! The lasers ARE straight. How did you manage to get them that way, or is it just luck of the draw? Sharp eyes, Pete.

The lasers are straight but they took a few days to get that way. I popped the head off, and then with a hairdryer (on low heat first) I got them to straighten out. (I'm sure they came from the factory molds like that, so it just needs some heat to return to the original shape). But carefel not to use too high heat or the soft plastic will melt. Just be patient... and also don't mess around with them too much when they're warm. A few days after that i did it again and gently worked the 1 stuborn one straight.

And for the other question, no, I just transformed it like it is supposed to, but the 25S has a few vertebrae missing is all.

  10. post-917-1232270327_thumb.jpg post-917-1232270336_thumb.jpg

I was working on a custom Yamato VF-11B g-nu-dou but totally wrecked it, so i was sorting through the extra parts. If you replace the neck of the VF-25S with the hip joint of the yamato Macross g-nu-dou figures, you get a longer neck. Truly, it's just slightly too long, IMO, but it's way better than the too short production version!

  11. I just thought I'd post a couple pics of my custom airbrushed VF-1J with GBP armor. It's neat how different it looks in natural light with a better camera. As much as I love this guy, I'm contemplating selling it on ebay to make room for the upcoming macross toys.
