Model kit, though it may be, that's still what the 31F head looks like. The DX will look the same.
the models eyes seem proportionally smaller, and the unicorn antenna is grey on the model instead of dark grey/black on the upcoming DX. Not big differences, but somehow it makes me like the model head way more. weird.

Like F360 said, it's too late to get a VF-31J at launch price. It's either you'll wait for a reissue for you to get that price. The rest it's above MSRP which is Y21600. Unless you'll just stalk Mandarake 24/7 in case one will pop up. Just so you know, the more you're going to hold back, the more chance that the price will just go up. Anyways, good luck on the hunt.
Hmmm. For some reasons, Messer's 31F also compliments Hayate's esp if it's using a 31J Super Parts.
Sorry for what may be an obvious question: Is that the standard head for the VF-31F or is that something that comes with the armor parts?
Edit: nevermind. I just realized this was the model kit head. whoops

I panicked after reading the last few posts about HLJ suspending accounts for going over the limits, as I had just ordered a second regult, not realizing that there was a limit. I quickly shipped the last one I had sitting in my Private Warehouse so hopefully everything is ok.
Re: the Monster: I've been waiting for this toy for decades. I remember finding an old die-cast one listed in toy collecting newspaper (this was around 1990) but it was from a shop in another city. I've since had that toy, and the 1/200 model I built, but have long since sold them.
I'm so anxious for the HM-R Monster that I have my little custom built Lego one sitting on the shelf as a little placeholder (but he doesn't seem to have the presence that the big one will have).

I vote for the 31-A.
I'm just not a big fan of the swept forward wing design. Yet, somehow, I like the YF and VF-19, so maybe it will grow on me once I see it in action.

+1
+1 more
I remember learning Japanese and the lessons I downloaded emphasized the modesty commonly expressed. From those lessons, the phrase "Jozu Jarimasen" (or something like that) sticks in my head, meaning "not that skilled yet" , I think.
I could be totally mistaken, it's been awhile

Nice! I just looked it up, I like the choice of grey/color that you used (reminds me a bit of the VF-11B).
Out of curiosity does it still transform? It looks like it could be fixed in Fighter mode but wanted to be ask to be sure.
-b.
I lightly sanded it (but its tough to get in all the nooks), primered it, and then painted it. I even put a light coat of clear on it. Lastly, I think waiting a long time, ie weeks, for the paint to cure (not just surface dry) is helpful.
But even with all that, the transformation will chip it. This is partly why mine was fixed into fighter mode (the other reason was the modded wings)
....goodness, the transformation even chips the factory paint, so what hope do we really have.

Sounds like a cool idea, but I don't think that there is, I haven't seen any of the members here try to tackle that project w 3D printing and I'm not aware of any online shops that offer it either.
Matter of fact I don't think I've seen any custom Renewal 25's - c'mon folks, get on that already!
-b.
I just listed my custom YF-24 Evolution on ebay. I used an RVF-25 Luca Renewal for it, and now have a few ghosts for my own collection.
-
I decided to just make it as a display piece, to avoid wear and tear, and it actually doesn't have a functional head.
I've actually listed it on ebay to make room in my collection for more Macross stuff, for the giant waves of new toys keep on coming.

It looks better with the gold paint applied.
Agreed!
I like that one better too. I just had to satisfy my urge for a low viz.

I know it doesn't follow the line art exactly, but it's the best I could do with the parts I had. But seriously, I wish Bandai would make one.
This was made with a Luca RVF-25, some vf-171 wings and one antennae, and a few extra parts. Unfortunately it doesn't transform, but it's nice to display in fighter mode.

Do you still have the Bandai;
- $110 - Chogokin VF-171EX, everything intact, no breaks.
- $60 - Chogokin VF-171EX Armoured Parts, 100% complete
Ill take the set of both for $150 if still available. How do I pay?
Thanks

What fin was missing? From one of the ghosts?
*hovers hand over the Panic Button*
Just a little fin off the back bottom. Box was sealed so I'm sure it fell off on the factory floor somewhere. All the other fins are very tightly affixed.
Oh well

That's a pretty brilliant way to display the armor.
Also, is that the Sh Figuarts War Machine?
Thanks!
...and yes, that is the SH Figuarts War Machine. (I only collect Macross now, but that figure is ridiculously well done)
