  1. These very reliable at all? I might drop an order with them.
  2. Ok, WTAF.. they cancelled your orders before most shops even listed them. This is truly some kind of bizarro world at this point.
  3. Where are these going to show up, besides From Japan? The usual suspects, like AE and NY?
  4. I'm confused.. how does it not come with the interchangeable kite? I mean, if it only comes with the kite, ok, but there should be no skull logo on the TV packs.
  5. Thing to remember about getting multiple packs of movie strike parts though... each set comes with a pair of red, blue, black, and green skull logos. You can't possibly use them all. That leaves a boatload of spares that you could either put kites on, or other custom squad logos.
  6. Yeah, Hikaru's 1J is basically the -other- stupid iconic VF-1, and if I had to pare my collection down to two, it would be that one and Roy's. In my case, the 1J counts as a real life version of "first girl wins," because my very first VF-1 was a 1/200 Nichimo kit (under the Testors label) of Hikaru's 1J in fighter mode, which I got in maybe 1987. I had no idea it even was supposed to transform, until the late 90s when I realized that my Matchbox Joke Machine Millia was actually supposed to be the same plane. My current impression would be that the 1J will be re-released around the time the GBP-1 comes out though, so Hikaru's 1S might be a better target for now.
  7. It's worth it to have one, honestly, they're fantastic figures. Whether you care which one you have before getting your main target though gives you a few options. I don't know which will be cheapest, but if you want a backup that could be repainted as Roy with minimal effort, now may be as good a time as any to grab a Hikaru 1S.
  8. Definitely wouldn't call those "in one piece," though how much was due to the original crash, and how much was due to salvagers tearing off bits is up for grabs. Crashing into a pile is still a little different from forcing through a solid object, but you're not wrong, they probably wouldn't have that much trouble, what with "structural integrity fields" and all that technobabble. However, I think seeing the vast majority of the second death star intact in an ocean on an entirely different moon than it was originally orbiting kinda skews that.. by all rights, if that much of the death star survived that explosion, you'd think the ships on Jakku would have just bounced, and been ready to go after refueling.
  9. The Super Hikaru 1J is one of those weird pieces of apocryphal art that never appeared in the series, but just seems to be really popular. The subject was discussed in some detail here as well. See, if Bandai wanted to be nice, they would pack in a spare Hikaru figure and canopy with the TV fast packs. If they add the red-tipped RMS missiles with a TV super pack, I'll probably buy another four sets. The more kite-marked logo parts I get, the more squadrons I can make with the extras from my DYRL packs.
  10. My only problem with the T-70 design is the pointless asymmetry. It serves no purpose mechanically, or aerodynamically/astrodynamically, and looks aesthetically off-putting due to the loss of what I consider some of the most satisfying design symmetry in the entire franchise. It also makes two of the "wings" look like sticks, and I would have preferred they ditch the X pattern entirely, rather than do something that looks like that. I've debated time and again whether to pick up a bunch of the Bandai kits to kitbash into a version that keeps the original dual-wing design, using the existing planform with two full wings on each side. That's what the McQuarrie design was, after all... they just couldn't bear to leave his design intact. I really don't want to blame JJ for Rian Johnson or Bad Robot.. it's not unwarranted, but I also do not want to water down the level of blame that needs to be leveled directly at the primary instigators. Don't forget how much worse than that it actually was. They didn't build them on the ground, they built them underground, and then proceeded to plow them through said ground during launch. Also, don't forget that shields don't work in atmosphere (in only this particular instance in the entire franchise, and even within this single movie), so their hulls took the full brunt of being shoved through the crust of the planet. Note, I'm assuming the planet was not made of ice, because neither Kylo nor Rey seemed at all phased walking around on the surface.
  11. Same, I'm expecting that to pop any moment here, and resisting the urge to sleep to see if it happens.
  12. The last release I panicked at was Chuck's VF-31, and I definitely regretted it after it became easily available after release. What I'm curious to see is whether Bandai is going to make the DYRL version as well. They did this "first release" song and dance with the Hikaru 1J with the stand, but whether we ever see a second release is entirely up to the roulette wheel of Bandai's decision process.
  13. I think it's a fair guess to say that this may be a popular line of thinking, and had a fair impact on how bad this particular night was.
  14. Yeah, I didn't know if that total would have shipping in it. That's still on the upper end I'd consider, honestly, but I worked myself up to it.
  15. Roughly 2k for 6 of them is still kind of what I would call in the "acceptable" range personally, around $333 a piece. If you do wind up with that many, people here might be happy to buy a couple, especially if Nin-Nin cancels on anyone.
  16. I'm still expecting NY to list a pile of them at 25,000Y or so soon, crossing my fingers for that so we can get more of them to spread around.
  17. Holy crap.. it went through with no loading.. I'll probably have to update the address later, but wow, spamming F5 might have paid off. Still up after checkout, maybe the bots are sleepy by this point
  18. I honestly gave Nin-nin a shot, but I was stuck in a loop of the "add to cart" button never registering anything but that I already had one in the cart... except the cart was empty. I don't think any site I tried tonight actually loaded past the cart button.
  19. Yeah, I can get that.. I feel like lots of people took that same tactic. Though, I resigned myself to overpay in the first place, so I'm going to keep poking the reputable shops up until release day.
  20. Welp.. we'll see how this goes for the next few months. Right now, it's looking better to just repaint one of my Hikaru 1S copies. Will match the fast packs better anyway.
  21. See.. I don't get it though. They don't say "sold out", they say "not available" which is what they had before the time it went up.
  22. Yeah, this is just some fresh new circle of hell it seems. Every site either belly up, or refused to function even when I could add something to the cart.
  23. HLJ loaded just long enough for me to see a button, before immediately flipping to "sold out."
  24. How can anyone even load HLJ right now to see a button? The entire site is 404ing me.
  25. The password issue at HLJ is irrelevant when the site is completely bombed.
