Macross Frontier and Al Shahal both use the Cheyenne II. During Macross the Ride Macross Galaxy Corporate Army had the Phalanx and the Super Defender. Macross 7 treats Destroids as museum pieces. Those Monster II pilots who looked awesome when they were young are now retired geezers trying to relive their glory. Meanwhile in Macross Plus the Monster II was used as target practice for the AVF's heavier weapons. The Octos bis was mentioned in the Wings of Goodbye novelization during the Alcatraz breakout. The VB-6 Konig Monster is a mobile artillery piece. Max had one modified for Sound Force in Macross 7th Chord, the Konig Orgel. The VA-3 Invader is considered to have a Destroid mode rather than a Battroid mode.

My take on this is that AI architecture similar to Sharon Apple is shackled like with Luca's Ghost trio but AI still had other avenues such as Cyberoids. El in Macross Musiculture was an abandoned android that was reactivated. And Heimdall uses Combat Androids going by the pamphlet info. This is why people can't have nice things. What was covered up is the YF-19 and YF-22 waltzing through Earth's thick defense grid. As per the VF-X2 briefing by Maria Fokina Barnrose. Heimdall is basically a rogue actor like Havamal. Difference is Havamal at least had official authority as a Special Forces unit. From what we know of Heimdall personnel is former NUNS. In fact scratch that Heimdall has more in common with Fasces that commits terrorism with a political goal and is unconnected to NUNS or NUNG.

Anti-unification group in the sense Heimdall is basically a rebellion. Sure nobody likes the Windies but the NUNG just made an armistice treaty with them. Cromwell basically believed the NUN abandoned his home due to its anti-AI and anti-cyborg policies. So he is lashing out at who he believes is the source of his misery. Probably one of those that think the Sharon Apple Incident and Macross Galaxy threatening the galaxy with Vajra were faked news. And in-setting fake news has been weaponized by Lactence in attacking frontier planets. The Macross was exiled as a self preservation measure by the UN Government. It also lied about what happened to South Ataria in a cover up. I remember Exsedol proposing that the Macross and their Zentradi allies run as far away as they can to at least preserve a portion of Terran culture. The crew chose to stand and fight for Earth. It is Pryrric victory that most of humanity did not survive. It had repercussions for the future. It led to the policy of spreading Terrans across the galaxy so even if Earth was lost Humanity will survive and thrive. Ushio Todo tried to get back in time to prevent that using technology the Protoculture themselves balked in using. Macross 7 was abandoned to its fate by Earth in facing the Protodevlin and Meltrandi. No guessing why it is rumored Max was Pro-decentralization faction supporter of Vindirance. Not to mention his daughter was leader of it. The Galaxy Treaty does stipulate nearby fleets help each other in emergencies. In the TV series Frontier sent a rescue force to save Macross Galaxy when they sent a call for help. It was a trick, Galaxy Mainland was fine. In the False Songstress Frontier government refused to send reinforcements as Macross Galaxy is seen as a pariah state. Sheryl had to hire SMS's services. Frontier's choices were either invade the Vajra home planet or call the mission a failure thus asking Earth or NUNG for assistance resulting in them losing autonomy. Earth however is caught in red tape. It can't send out its forces as reinforcements without the NUNG Parliament getting enough votes. In the Frontier TV Series SMS sent a call for assistance but the due to distances and Fokd Faults a response would be too late. In Wings of Goodbye NUNS and SMS from various fleets came as reinforcements. The Brisngr Globular Cluster is the farthest from Earth. The NUNG does not have that big of a presence in the region. NUNS took its sweet time sending a fleet. Part politics part equipping it with Fold Jammers so they won't be brainwashed.

From what I get the bis in Neo Nupetiet-Vergnitzs bis, Octos bis, and Neo Glaug bis means Custom. Macross 13 aka Battle 13 is not attached to a Emigration Fleet as 13 is treated as somewhat a taboo or unofficial number. Thus Macross 13 fleet is an Earth or Federal forces Macross. During the Second Unification War the Earth Supremacist faction Lactence used Macross 13 as a backup for command and control of Earth's defense grid. It was destroyed during the battle over Earth. Battle 13 was mentioned in novelizations by Kodachi Ukyo. Either it was defending Earth during Grace' Galaxy wide invasion in the TV adaptation or is the command ship of the reinforcements to Frontier in the Movie continuity. It is under command of the former SDF-1 Bridge Operator now Lt. General Kim Kabirov. Guess she went out of retirement. According to Macross 7 Docking Festival Kim retired at the rank of Colonel on Eden in the 2040's. Battle Astrea in Macross Delta Zettai Live was under a anti-unification group. Interesting it has 21 on its deck. Which begs the question is this a refurbished and heavily modified Battle 21? Or does it wear 21 as a mark of rebellion?

So far due to likely the policy of not confusing the audience we have not seen NUNS use yet other Macross types beyond the SDFN and Battle Class. It is possible they commissioned Macross Quarter Class and Whatever-sion Class ships but so far we only seen them exclusively used by SMS and Xaos. Also we have seen Epsilon Foundation acquiring Macross ships, modifying them, and providing them to very questionable people.

Fold Carbon aka Fold Coal aka Fold Ore, and Fold Quartz are material needed to produce artificial gravity. That is how Fusion power is achieved in Reaction Engines or Fold Reactors. By crushing matter to produce Plasma. That is why in Atmosphere VFs virtually do not need fuel to fly as air is fuel. Space however needs full fuel tanks. This is why the Sv-262 Draken III had a limited flight time during deployment. It has small fuel tanks. Also why Hayate is warned how he uses his RCS thrusters. The guy wastes his fuel in Space.

It also possible Fold Carbon or Fold Coal is mined as well. One of the places as options to exile Isamu by his Commander was Banipal which has coal mines. Also another possible source of Fold Carbon are Galactic Whales but is illegal as it is a protected species. Poachers hunt Galactic Whales and sell them to the Black Market as Spaceship parts. Windermereans runes on top of their heads are Biological Fold Quartz. The Protoculture likely engineered them this way along with environmental factors. The soil where they plant their Apples is full of Fold Quartz from the Protoculture ruins. When their Apples are combined with mineral water from Protoculture ruins they produce the chemical Seidnole. This chemical is known to cause Fold Bacteria ,which was originally from Vajra, to explode in number thus causing Var Syndrome. Now those with Fold Receptor Factor or Space-Time Resonance Ability are less susceptible to the Var Syndrome. Interestingly Galactic Whales in their yearly migration to Planet Zola carry with them Bacteria. If somebody is not a native Zolan with immunity and not given First Aid when they are injured they could die. Basara despite being injured managed to get to the Hoiley's home in a Sleepwalking state. Elma carried him through Catsnake Forrest to the healing Hot Springs which flows from the Galactic Whale graveyard.

Most NUNS combat we've seen on screen has been defensive. Whether protecting a ship, a fleet or a planet. It is rare we see them in all out attack. These attacks are raids as that is how they centered their doctrine around VFs.

If we go by Macross F Wings of Goodbye the Guantanamo are not being mothballed or scraped as Earth is switching to the Uruga as their main carrier. It has a big hole in the middle might as well make it a Gunship. And Earth's defense grid suddenly became even scarier.

Interesting thing learn about the Protoculture from their AI that they left behind. The AI at Altira would have us believe that the Protoculture went for cloning reproduction that caused their schism. Some came to Earth to retry their civilization again. Though it seems too simplistic. The Ruins of Rax has the Protoculture conflict coming from colonizing space. The Bird Human was programmed to wipe off humanity if it went to space as aggressors. Then there is the while folklore of them being Vajra fanboys. Though there is a possibility they are also Galactic Whale fanboys due to the Nupetiet-Vergnitzs. And the whole Protoculture girl being part of the native folklore. Such as Roy Waka and the Star Singer. We don't know. I think the Guantanamo class was supposed to take the role of the ARMD class but we knefer saw it docked to either a Macross class or Megaroad. We have seen both the Guantanamo class and Uruga class docked with emigration ships. Island Jackpot aka Valett City when it arrived on Ragna looked like it had an Uruga docked rather than a Battle Class.

From the Playstation game DYRL bonus Lynn Minmay's Goodbye Message Card Minmay says they are following a melody or music at the center of the galaxy. It could be Protoculture or something else. From the Macross F novelization Richard Bilrer believes the Vajra can bring him to where Megaroad-01 was. Going Miclone he hopped on a VF-1 following the Vajra folding out. Whether coincidence or not Xaos Ragna branch received transmissions from Megaroad-01 right after the Vajra War. This is where Lady M according to Berger Stone's investigation started appearing in the galactic scene.

As far as First Contacts go Terrans with the Zentradi was a bad one. They didn't purge the programming through Supervision Army left behind on the ship. This affected how they deal with new races they meet. With other Protoculture derived races their reaction is to make peaceful contact and try to uplift them. Though the Windermereans do not appreciate it due to their fragile egos. With Rogue Zentradi however they expect hostilities regardless.

I am assuming this still from Satan's Doll episode is a depiction of a Supervsion Army ships in battle with Zentradi. These along with the Meltrandi Gun Destroyer I can see this type of ship having several known variants. Zentradi do have their own gunships but their shape is based on the Vajra Knight class carrier. Zentradi battle pods were fashioned after Vajra. Nupetiet-Vergnitzs is different as its shape was based on another Fold capable lifeform, Galactic Whales. Edit: DYRL depicts the Nupetiet-Vergnitzs as a Gunship as well. It could go either way as what they are gojngt for is SDFM TV events but DYRL aesthetics. Though we haven't seen the refits fire like a Gunship yet. Macross II on the other hand had the Macross Cannon class made up of four Nupetiet-Vergnitzs hulls added to a central body to be a fleet killer.

She was a guinea pig for the V-Type Fold Bacteria. Basically the Cyber Nobles had her parents murdered as they were the political opposition that prevented mandatory cybernetics bill from being passed. Sheryl got away living in the streets for some time till Grace picked her up. Grace's characterization depends on the medium but the it is the TV series and it's novel adaptation where.she is worst. As what she did to Sheryl is some revenge on a perceived slight she had from Mao Nome. As Mao disagreed with the whole hivemind thesis of hers.

If we go by the novelization and Sheryl manga the Cyber Nobles were rich bastards. They go by different names Macross Galaxy Fleet Executives, Cyber Nobles, or the Senate they have no qualms about enslaving other humans. If we go by the novelizations and movies NUNS does not trust Macross Galaxy due to Human Rights violations and outright espionage and black ops. In the TV Series Macross Galaxy is still out there. In the Movies Macross Galaxy was wiped out by the Vajra while the three Executives were killed by Brera. In the Sheryl manga Surtr the leader of the Senate murdered the Human population of Macross Galaxy once she took control of the Vajra. Also if we go by the movies their Fleet is crazily armed as all their escorts are gunships.

During an aftermath episode of SDFM a downed Zentradi warship was booby trapped but it was affiliated with Quamzin's rebellion. Macross Chronicle artwork and in Macross II new towns are built around these downed ships. So unless it is out in the boonies and occupied by rebels it is just a wreck. The Sega Saturn prologue of DYRL the Macross did not fire first. The Macross in DYRL was a former Meltrandi Gunship. The Macross folded out when the Zentradi started bombarding the island. In DYRL the Meltrandi were the enemy of the Zentradi. [Quote]Why are they called the Supervision Army anyway? Back when the Protoculture were fighting each other via proxy using Zentradi soldiers the Zentradi were Forbidden in interfering with Protoculture aka Miclones. Then the Protoddvlin with their Supervision Army happened. The rules went out the window. The Protoculture gave the Zentradi permission to fire on Miclones due to the Supervision Army having them in their ranks. The Zentradi can't fight with Protoculture around while the order was in place. After the Protodevlin were sealed only a few fleets received the order to not interfere with Protoculture/Miclones. Due to the fact most of the Protoculture are dead and their communications network was wrecked. Roid in Macross Delta speculated the Protoculture ruin system was created to deal with Zentradi.

Interesting thing about DYRL is that Zentradi and Meltrandi have different tech bases. Zentradi tech has organic technology. Meltrandi tech is more cybernetic and also led by an AI. My head canon how this applies to a SDFM TV continuity wise is that the Protoculture factions during the Civil War used different gear from each other. But they had no choice but combine their forces once the Protodevlin came at play. For all we know it is a three way war thus too busy to look into the rumored Miclones and the fate of the 118th Main Fleet.

When you think about it the NUN strategy to deal with Rogue Zentradi fleets is not dissimilar to Japanese Bees killing Hornet scouts before they can inform their hive. Varauta built a carrier with 8 Macross cannons and 8 fleet killer Reaction Missiles with 24 warheads at 10 gigatons for each warhead. Though most known Zentradi encounters is that those that went pirate or rebel. Being remnants of the 118th Main Fleet. What I find interesting were the encounters while the Vajra War was going on. We know in 2059 Planet Sephira suffered a Zentradi attack. Also in 2059 the Aerial Knights had to deploy to assist NUNS dealing with a Zentradi incursion. You have to wonder if these two incidents are related. Sephira or the Laramis system it seems to me a hub of NUN territories. Sephira was one of the planets in Macross VF-X2 during the Second Unification War. Isamu made it his stop before coming to Eden to be a test pilot. Leon Sasaki folded from Sephira to Ouroboros. Messer was supposed to transfer to the Xaos branch in the Laramis system as he can't fight anymore. We know from Macross the Ride around in 2058 SMS had an encounter with a surviving ship from the Koper Main Fleet. Some 50 years before that fleet was annihilated by the Vajra. Yeah the Supervision Army was not the onlynkne Zentradi has to worry about. Guess the Koper Main Fleet bit more than they can chew. Frontier and Galaxy was at the Vilos cluster of the Sagittarius-Carina arm around the center of the galaxy. Also at the Sagittarius arm is the abandoned colony Elysium where Rogue Zentradi unearth a buried Mobile Fortress. At the rim of the Sagittarius arm is the Brisingr Globular Cluster where the Protocuoture retreated to create their sub-races. It could be the Sagittarius arm was the old Protocuoture stomping grounds while the Orion arm where Earth was is the middle of knowhere.

In Macross II you can see their cities built on Zentradi ships. And we don't know if those are permanently downed ships or they are able to fly again. Also defense strategies between the two settings are different. Macross II treats the Solar System as layers of defensive lines and relying on the Minmay defense. Meanwhile as seen in Macross Plus Earth has a defense grid of satellites and fleets so anybody paying a visit would have a surprise. This propensity towards heavy firepower can seen also with the Varauta Fleet Carrier and Planet Vulcan's laser satellites. Macross II has its own fleet killer with the Macross Cannon class.

Though motif and coloring may be similar to the Supervision Army. Exsedol found the Varauta VFs eerily familiar but dismissed that thought as they were Miclones. The Supervsion Army of the current era are all of Zentradi stock. As for how the Protodevlin managed to build a fleet of 500 ships and thousands of mecha after only taking over a colony for a few years they cheated. They had their own unique Factory Satellite, Protodevlin Heritage, stolen from the Protoculture that they hid before being captured. Unlike other Factory Satellites that use robot drones to gather resource materials this one produces armaments with matter replication using Fold energy, violating the law of the conservation of mass and energy. Especially tuned to their Spiritia signature, Sophia Spiritia,for activation and has the capacity for mass brainwashing. In Macross the Ride it revealed as Operation Stargazer was going on an infiltration team was inserted to gather intelligence. The team led by the Zentradi Naresuan discover the Protoeevlin was experimenting on a pure bred Zentradi girl that has the same Sophia Spiritia as them thus having the ability similar to a Spiritia Blackhole around her when she sings. The girl Chelsea Scarlet was rescued and Milia instructed Hakuna Aoba who was part of that mission to watch over her as she grows up. Meanwhile Naresuan joined the Earth Supremacist faction Lactence bringing with him the information about the Protodevlin Heritage. Lactence lost the Second Unification War in 2050 to 2051. Naresuan made his own group Fasces whose goal is still the supremacy of Earth and centralization of government. Posing as a pirate outfit abducting ships and crews for brainwashing to add to their troops. In 2058 Fasces attempted to kidnap Chelsea Scarlet along with the Macross Galaxy resort ship Evouna during the Vanquish Race. Fasces was thwarted by a Volunteer corps of VF racers however they are still in possession of the Protodevlin Heritage Factory Satellite.

Achievement wise the Kawamori continuity is much more impressive with Human expansion and rapid technological progress. Due to stealing 20 Factory Satellites. Macross II continuity was less ambitious as UN Spacy stole one Factory Satellite at a time , twice. However Macross II being a direct sequel to DYRL much of their warships are Zentradi ships leftover from Space War 1. They only produced their later generation capitals after they stole their second Factory Satellite. The pace also of their VF development is not as rapid as the original designer of the VF-1 survived and it got its life extended with the VF-1R series. There is no VF designer competition between Shinsei Industries and General Galaxy as it is monopolized by the Tachikoff Company. Sure there is a VF-4 Siren but it significantly different from the VF-4 Lightning III as it is more like the VF-1 in transformation.

During the Factory Satellite heist a Supervision Army wreck was found but exploring it was not entertained due to the Supervision Army's booby trap tactics. Oh the Supervision Army is still around but are essentially a mop up exercise by the Zentradi. Both Milia and Chlore are noted aces of their respective fleets due to enemies shot down. For the past 500,000 years it has nothing but an guerilla war for the Supervsion Army against the Zentradi. Sabotaging Factory Satellites and laying booby traps for Zentradi. Also unlike the Macross II continuity the NUN has not encountered another Main Fleet. UN Spacy/NUNS strategy is to take out any recon fleets from ever reporting to their Main Fleet. Most Zentradi encounters are 118th Main Fleet remnants that has not assimilated to Earth culture. There are rare instances of encountering uncultured Zentradi like 20581976 Reconnaissance Squad, a Queadol-Magdomilla from the Koper Main Fleet in Macross the Ride. The Koper Main Fleet Mobile Fortress became a Vajra nest in the Frontier movie continuity. Meaning that Main Fleet is basically annihilated and Frontier Fleet encountered a remnant surviving vessel in combat. So far the Supervsion Army has not been formally made any First Contact.

I find it an interesting coincidence the Sv-303 is designated 303 which could be a reference to the 303rd Polish RAF in WW2. Why is this significant? The surviving SV-51 and SV-52 were on Polish, Russian and Ukranian bunkers. Meaning whatever Anti-UN engineers and manufacturers that survived Space War 1 were likely Eastern European. Anti-UN affliates that would collaborate again to develop the Sv-262. Magdalena Zielonaska from Macross the Ride wears a 303rd badge as her ancestors fought in both WW2 and at the Anti-UN side during the First Unification War. Interestingly the Az-130A Panzerzorene and FBz-99G Saubergeran listed among among its manufacturers is Mikoyan. Mikoyan aerospace is the manufacturer of MiG Fighters particularly the MiG-29 which was also used by Anti-UN forces. From the Japanese Wikipedia entry on the Sv-262 it is said a dozen years before 2067 these Anti-UN designers who were scattered to different manufacturers reunited to restart the development of the successor to the SV series. The SV series development was frozen right after the Unification War. My guess tons of material from the Bird Human Incident was already declassified including the SV-51. It would make sense the Sv-154 Svärd is heavily based on the SV-51 as a direct successor. And as if the Cold War never ended these former Anti-UN engineers who probably has Russian pride in them try to one up the the VF series with each next Slayer Valkyrie. Thus the Sv-262 and Sv-303. I do wonder exactly when Epsilon Foundation bought Sv Works from General Galaxy.
