  1. Yeah, I think we're all on the same page here. Try out something new, but cheap, and you'll have a better idea of whether you want to go further.
  2. Yep, schlopp some glue on there (just don't make it too gloppy)! Everybody's got to start somewhere, and you should already have a headstart. You can always get a pro to have another go if it doesn't work out for you. You could always try out your latent abilties on a cheaper kit first.
  3. I still have to add another vote for Gasaraki, 1990s metaphysics notwithstanding. And Votoms are pretty cool, too. Basically, anything which can spawn a range of 1/35 scale models is ok in my book! Hmm, I guess that half-qualifies Gundam: War in the Pocket, too ...
  4. Nice job Andy's friend, and nice kit, Andy! Good to see one of these out of the box.
  5. Very nice - did you ever get around to taking those 'dirtied-up' pictures? I'd love to see the final result.
  6. My first exposure to Macross was in the form of the models. Sometime around '83 they exploded into British toy shops in vast numbers. I had never seen anything like them, having been brought up on a diet of WWII aeroplanes, mostly. Then, just as suddenly, they all dissappeared again and I was left wondering "what the hell was that ...?" I didn't come across Macross again until '90 when I saw DYRL on laser disc. That was when everything clicked, and I was hooked again. Luckily, I didn't actually discover Robotech until a couple of years later, through the Palladium RPG. Skimmed the book, once, so I still can't really say I've discovered it.
  7. I still remember that fight scene, and I haven't watched it for well over an hour! Hmm ... maybe time to watch it again ...
