  1. I didn't find this episode any more confusing than any other episode. I'm not sure what the hold up is with some. Again, I don't see what's so hard to understand.
  2. Come on, a kill em all ending is one of the laziest ways to end a show, EVER. It's an enormous waste of time.
  3. Hysterical. Roy ended up in the bad place. Too much manwhoring.
  4. I'm rather glad some of you aren't in charge of Macross. Believe it or not the best way to tell a story isn't typically to KILL THEM ALL!
  5. I don't see why this is a problem. RESISTANCE to a weapon is not the same thing as IMMUNITY to a weapon. Reaction warheads for example still vaporize yellow drones post 'evolution'. The cannon fodder VF-25's weapons work on both yellows and lobsters as of episode 20 No armor is impenetrable, if you shoot it enough times in the same place, it WILL break. For a real world example even the neigh indestructible M1A2 tank can be crippled through repeated attacks on its weak points (treads, rear engine, and turret ring).
  6. Go to Veoh and look up Macross episode 16 (Link is too long) Go to 16:30 You can see a Spartan shoot down two battlepods before getting fragged and an Excalibur take out two more while surviving. Its just that these pilots aren't elites and for the most part face enemies with numbers far greater than their own.
  7. Not quite sure what you mean. In the original series the Destroids did very well. They had nearly a 1:1 kill ratio. Plus they were the MAIN offensive element of the Daedalus attack, which I remind you, was capable of destroying Zentradi warships. In Frontier, they're used mostly for point defense and internal security. It should be obvious that ground pounders are going to have little use in SPACE. And actually, you CAN see the new model destroids shooting down Vajra in episode 7. A bunch of the yellow bugs fly right into their flack fields and disappear.
  8. Look at it this way: As long as Kanaria and her sweet sweet Monster make it through to the end I'll be happy.
  9. Well, it seems as though the Frontier forces upgraded their ammo again. We're back as of episode 20 to regular bullets and missiles being able to blow up both yellow and red drones. FROM A VF-25 CANNON FODDER no less! Plus, it's great to see those Ex-Gears in action again. Mobile Infantry rules.
  10. The older I get the more I realize how stupid most 'age' taboos are. Michael Douglas can shack up with Catharine Zeta Jones no prob, but take that young and you'll get your life ruined. I mean seriously, plenty of people for hundreds of years in plenty of cultures were getting married in their early teens. It wasn't uncommon at all for a husband to be 15+ older than his bride, and these were 'moral' religious types. Now a days we just have a bunch of hypocrites who label people 'rapists' and 'child molesters' if there's a three year difference between lovers (20-17 is what happened in a incident that REALLY sucked and nearly destroyed a friend of mine). I'm not saying it's cool for 30 year olds to take advantage of teeny boppers, but for crying out loud, there should be any problem if it's consensual (And this is coming from a guy who approving of the death penalty for true child molesters).
  11. Riiiight, there's a one, repeat, ONE year difference between Alto and Ranka. If that makes one a pedophile, then 99% of the human race is.
  12. I support a Ranka victory. I'm just saying, it's probably not going to be Sheryl. This whole Macross has been about giving homages to what has gone before, and then turning it on its head. Ranka is behind heading into the home stretch, that means one thing. Victory.
  13. Is there anyone who's subbing the special DVD extended episode 1 of Frontier? Because I can't find it anywhere.
  14. Dear God, THANK YOU Sergorn! Your method works PERFECTLY and my Lunar Macross Frontier Subs are now display BEAUTIFULLY on my big screen TV through my PS3. I'm still going to be buying Macross Frontier products, but I can't see how the imported DVDs will look (or sound) any better than this! Thanks a ton!
  15. Heh, I'm not saying things should be easy for our heroes. But an enemy that can adapt to absolutely ANYTHING is boring and unrealistic, even amongst sci-fi races. There are bugs on Earth that can withstand thousands of times the radiation of human beings, however, they'd still get incinerated by a direct nuke hit. Just saying that humans are adaptable too, we'll be seeing some new stuff too, I guarantee. And that super VF-25 shot is the sex.
  16. Okay, so yeah, their evolution hax has our heroes on the ropes for right now. However, no matter how much the Vajra evolve, they'll never be totally unstoppable. 1. Reaction warheads are not useless. They still work on the yellow drones, it's the red lobsters who have become resistant to their attacks. 2. It's only a matter of time before Frontier comes up with better ammo/missiles. I doubt very much the rest of the dogfighting in this show will consist solely of beam guns and knife fights. It's the same problem faced in the first few episodes, countered for 10 episodes or so with ESA ammo, and now the Vajra have reacted to that. I forsee a anti-Borg like Phase modulation counter by the Frontier forces. 3. BFGs still work. I doubt very much however fast the Vajra evolve, they can still walk away from heavy SDF fire like we just saw. It's hard to have tough armor when you've been atomized. 4. Plot-kai. It's not good story telling to have totally invincible enemies. Just like the Borg, there will be limits to how much the Vajra can resist. 5. According to future episode summaries, there is a Vajra genocide weapon being cooked up. It probably won't be used, but there's human ingenuity for ya.
  17. Exactly. This is why I don't really feel any sympathy to the 'poor' 'victim' Vajra. If they were really so peaceful, why did they drop out guns blazing rather than trying to communicate at a distance? Frontier still had to defend itself against an overwhelming attack.
  18. Thanks again for the advice, I'm also going to try to use a program called mkv2vob to turn the MVKs into a file format my PS3 can read. Then I'll just burn the information files to disk and play each episode separately. I could care less about menus etc, I just want to watch my Macross on my TV.
  19. Hey folks, I'm a half way literate cumputar person, but believe it or not, I don't have much experience in burning DVDs. So, I'm planning on burning either AONE's or Lunar's episodes to DVD for playback on either my NTSC DVD player or my American model PS3. Simply put, what are going to be the best programs, methods etc for burning multiple episodes (And I'm not sure if they're hard or soft sub) to a DVD that I can actually USE and not lose too much video quality? For a beginner, should I stick with AVI XVID over MVK? Because I've heard MVK is a real bitch to convert to DVD. FYI, I DO plan on buying Frontier when it's out in box set (Already have Animego's original series SDF and Macross Plus)... But that's a long ways off.
