Anyone who lives in San Francisco might check with the anime/manga Kinokuniya store (they opened a separate store for anime and manga last year? or was it early this year?)--if any Kinokuniya store is going to put it on the shelves it would be that one. (I think I saw the Gundam 'version' there? I could be wrong.)

Oh, no problem. I did it in person this afternoon, and the salesclerk looked it up on the computer, so I'm assuming the order has been placed properly. It is a bit expensive, but since it's bimonthly, that does make me feel a little bit better. Thanks for your help!

Godzilla? Wasn't Godzilla the product of a US a bomb? The series would be about either living in harmony with or exploiting and destroying nature, and this goes back to Macross Zero. (Along with music being a power to help nature.) We'll have to see who is responsible for the creation of the Vajra (humans or Protoculture?)?

I'm rewatching ep 11. I'm getting a strong vibe that there is a 'green' message in Macross F, that humans should be living in harmony with nature and not tampering with it; tampering leads to serious negative consequences.

lynn2009, is there any additional information I should include when placing a subscription order? I'm guessing that it should be somewhat easy to find on the computer, but since I don't speak Japanese, any additional information that would help the staff at the bookstore would be great.

Lynn2009, did you place a subscription? Was it through e-mail? I've tried contacting the SJ store in the past through e-mail, but have never received a response.

While some elements are similar to things that have been done or have appeared elsewhere, I think within the Macross universe it's fresh enough--while some may wish for more of a military sci-fi series, I do think it may be too early to make judgments about character development--we don't know what will be revealed next about the characters' histories. With that said, I do hope they avoid lapsing into predictability -- killing off so-and-so, and so on.
